The museum seems to be a wittness of the fact that the Seychelles have other priorities than their heritage. One can wonder that a so called prime tourist destination is treating its history like that. But propably tourist a supposed to stay at the beach and spend the money in the overprized hotels and are not supposed to be interesete in a countries history. Go only there to complain on the state of the museum.

Don't waste your time here or plan a trip specially to Victoria to see the National Museum.

It is sad really, as this museum is an important destination for school children on eductational outings. Everything is worn out, old, badly outdated and simply looks like discarded / donated bits and pieces from other museums. It basically comes down to adequate funding and actually up-dating and expanding the exhibits to something more meaningful for both adults and children. Enjoy Victoria, the old simple creole architecture, colonial influences, the clock tower, the market, but skip the museum.

Do not loose your time !

When in Mahé , your visit / circuit through Victoria (the Capital) will last about 15 min , as there's nothing interesting to see . It's a very poor and small City , such as the Museum ...

Enjoy more time on the beach , or travelling to more interesting islands than Mahé , like Praslin and (above all) La Digue .

This "Museum" is a joke of bad taste ...
