Reviewed 16 July 2013

Stayed here for 2 nights, its clean and basic with the most friendliest staff.
Luxury it isn't but value for money it is and whats more its located in the old town of Manila, where the Spanish influence is shown in the architecture.

I am chiyo, and i travel to Philippines with my wife last June 27, 2013. We decided to go to the Philippines because we want to see boracay and this place called intramuros, which we just saw in travel program in japan we searched on the internet for a good place to stay near intramuros. And we found this hotel called White Knight Hotel. My wife enjoyed our stay at the hotel as well as the tour that we had in intramuros. the hotel staffs are accommodating and make sure that all our needs are attended, the hotel also served us japanese food like tempura and tonkatsu so we didn't miss japan that much. During our tour, I personally enjoyed this equipment we used in going to intramuros. They call it a segway. My wife was a little scared but she enjoyed it a lot. She wants to go back to the Philippines and visit more beautiful places.

Good budget hotel... Great location... Bad service to local tourists.

We stayed in 3 different rooms. Deluxe, Standard and Executive for four days. The hotel staff are not so receptive to local tourists compared to international ones or balikbayans.

Watch out!!!

They say that they have these souvenir t-shirts worth 250 pesos each in every rooms, but some rooms don't have them. Yes, some rooms don't have those souvenir items which can give you a very unpleasant experience as when you check out, they would look for those items that aren't even there. You'll have to wait for a whole lot of minutes for them to investigate where those supposed items are, when in the first place, there was never any of those items in some of their rooms.

Goodluck!

Room Tip: most rooms have connecting doors to the other rooms, so if you have security and privacy issues, try...

Our sincere apologies for any inconvenience you may have experienced during your stay. It was a clear cut mix-up with one of our hotel staff with regard to the souvenir t-shirt item. We have advised our hotel team to make sure that this doesn't happen again. We hope to make it up to you if you will visit us next time. We will reciprocate your kind understanding on your next visit.

In all of the hotel that I booked for my trip, the WKHI was the wild-card. There has been some wildly fluctuations in reviews that makes my head spins. I would normally spring for the Bayleaf but I wanted to stay near the San Augustin church and I have made a very good choice.

The check-in was quick and courteous. Our baggage was carried upstairs by the bellboy using the stairs as the hotel does not have escalator. No matter, it is only 3 floors anyway and it melt with the tone of the hotel. The Deluxe room was a decent size with red-tile flooring, some of them cracked but in a surrounding like this, it goes with the atmosphere. Our room have a sliding window that looks down to the small alley that house the main entrance to the hotel. There is some work being done on the other side of the hotel in the Casa Blanca but the noise was not overly offending.

The WKHI shares its courtyard with several properties in the same blocks with some small boutiques shops/restaurants. It is quaint and nicely done, we had some good quiet time sitting around and have a drink or two in the courtyard. It is right next to San Augustin church and you can stroll there anytime that you wish when the crowd is thin. Intramuros is a great place to walk, not too big and not too small, we enjoyed our morning walks on the wall. Yes, there is a squatter/slump about 2 blocks from the hotel but they are all friendly and we did not feel threaten in anyway while we were there.

At night, there can be a bit hard to find a place to eat if you are there for many nights. But a quick $2 cab ride and you will be out in the Hermitage/Malate area.

On the day of departure, we actually forgot our passports at the hotel and the WKHI quickly arrange an employee to bring them to us.

If you need a few nights near Intramuros, the WKHI should be on top of your list. The room is comfortable and its location is top-notch.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the 2nd floor which have a higher ceiling.

My aunt from United States paid us a visit last week and they asked me to book a hotel around or near Intramuros. I checked over the net and found white knight hotel in Intramuros, a boutique kind of hotel. Well, at first I thought it is just cool but it's not, It is AWESOME! It was a great stay. My aunts enjoyed their stay at the hotel because it is near to most places that they would like to visit like old churches in Intramuros. We also enjoyed riding the mini shuttle that serves as our service. For the rate of 1-10.. I'll give this hotel a 10!!!

We stayed in two rooms here - a Deluxe room on the third floor and an Executive Twin on the second floor. The internet on the first night was terrible and only worked for a few minutes, and the plumbing in the toilet was easily clogged and took a long time to flush. The design of the bathroom is very nice, though, and hot water worked. The rooms are a good size. The breakfast was good, but not included in the price and slightly expensive. The sign out front says 1750 pesos for a standard, but the brochure at the front desk says 1900+ pesos for a standard. The location is right next to San Agustin, and a short walk from Fort Santiago. The staff were always very nice and helpful. We had an issue the second night, as we arrived in the middle of the night from a night bus. We were told that the lowest price room available was the Executive Twin; when we reached our room, we checked Agoda and found that a Deluxe room was actually available.

Room Tip: Book on Agoda - there may be a wider selection of room prices.

W e really enjoyed staying in the middle of Intramuros at the White Knight Hotel. Ok it is not 5 star but it makes up with it's quaint surroundings. It almost reminded me of the movie 'Hotel Marigold' but with much better facilities of course. It was great staying in the centre of such a historic area, but still only 10 mins away from anywhere you want to shop. So much more an interesting holiday experience than staying in the usual city areas. We had fun dodging the traffic on our Electric Chariot tour.
