Overall experience is more than good...
The UPs:
Buffet breakfast provided was more than we expected and kid friendly too. Of course, being located right smack in Binondo, the oldest Chinatown in the world, they had congee, dimsum and siopao as part of their breakfast menu. For kids, they offered three kinds of cereals.
The guest room was very clean and spacious, with strong a/c. Bed was comfortable and pillows were soft...made for a comfortable sleep. Bathroom was equally spacious, with strong water pressure.
The DOWNs:
The hotel had very limited parking space, less than 20 car capacity. We got the last available slot.
Here's the clincher, we opted to check out early, at 815am, I went to the front desk, surrendered our keycards, was asked to sit at the lobby while housekeeping checked our room. Fine, we sat, we waited, saw other guests checking out, and wondering why other guests were efficiently allowed to check out without waiting. Guess what? After 20 minutes of waiting, the front desk staff who advised us to wait, left her post, went out the front desk area, and completely forgot about us. She didnt even endorse us to her companion at the front desk. Mind you, the sitting area is directly in front of the front desk area, which is roughly less than 5 meters away. How she could forget about a guest is beyond me. But then again, there is always a first time for everything. I hope we are the first, and hopefully the last, guests she forgets about. It was her companion who eventually assisted our check out, after I complained. Btw, when we checked in the day before, our room was not prepared, that was 6pm, and was asked to wait at the lobby. Waiting just to check in, and waiting still, just to check out. Tsk! Tsk!

Recently had a short notice overnight to Manila and chose the Ramada based online based primarily on location. Could not have made a better choice...The staff was excellent and the accommodations were the best I've seen in Manila...Definitely the best value in central Philippines and I'll stay there every opportunity. Located right beside Binondo church and a few steps away from an Eng Bee Tin Branch (a popular Chinese food store). Perfect location if you want to find great bargains in Divisoria, it's only a few minutes away, walking distance. Divisoria is a place not for the faint of heart where you can buy everything at rock bottom prices. It is the reason why a lot of budget-conscious Pinoys couldn't buy anything abroad--because almost nothing beats the prices in Divisoria. But like I said, it's not for the faint of heart. It's so crowded that you have to make little steps to get to where you want to go. There is also an art to shopping there--list down everything you want to buy and start from the farthest market (because Divisoria is composed of several markets--from native products, to fabrics (Tabora), to shirts and RTW supplies (Juan Luna)), etc, etc. Of course, there are also malls here where you can buy knockoffs, among a million other things. You have to haggle though--"How much? One hundred? Give it to me for fifty!"

Ramada is a new hotel, fresh and clean. The only thing I didn't like was the food. Not a lot of choices from the menu, but that's okay, because this location is also the food capital of Manila. Walk a little further and you'll see all the Chinese restaurants there. This hotel is also near Sta. Cruz, where you can buy jewelry (gold, diamonds, etc) at low rates, say you buy a bracelet for $400, you can sell that for $1500 abroad. I'm not even kidding because my friend did this. But I digress.

Yup, good hotel. Food is so-so. Parking area is very steep, low cars may not be able to park there. Front desk officers are not pleasant and do not have smiling muscles but can answer your questions.

Yes, I would stay here again but maybe not book a room with breakfast and just eat in Eng Bee Tin restaurant.

We liked...

We were given a room on the top floor. Good views. Good restaurant, their lunch buffet is good value for money. Very comfortable room, well equipped, excellent layout, everything is brand new. But the best is the hotel staff, especially the porters. They are very kind and courteous and always ready to help guests.

We didn't like so much...

Even though we were on the 15th floor there was a bit of noise from the street. We were told it was a Filipino tradition so maybe it's the same elsewhere, but being woken by Christmas carols from the corridor's sound system at 7am wasn't pleasant.
