“Immensely Satisfying”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 December 2013 via mobile

We arrived in Manila on the 4th morning and reached bayleaf in a yellow taxi. While the taxi charged us double the regular rate @ 900Pesos , we realised that it takes a maximum of 500 Pesos (even in peak traffic) to reach the Bayleaf.

The staff at the hotel are courteous, sweet and magnanimous in their gesture. Although we arrived early, understanding our long flight travel (from India) they arranged an early room and that too with a splendid view.

The rooms are quaint, clean and extremely well maintained. The hotel is in the middle of the intramural old Manila magic and a visit to intramural with a stay at The Bayleaf is highly recommended.

We will be checking out in the morning and have had a splendid experience till now.

Cheers,
Tirthadeep & Renuka

We recently spent a couple nights at the Bayleaf in Manila. The location in Intramuros is very convenient and the area is easy for walking and sightseeing, with nearby restaurants, a 7-11 convenience store, ATM and a shopping mall.

Our room was compact but nice and bright with great views over the nearby golf course. It was very clean with huge comfortable beds and also a large bathroom/shower. Cable TV with plenty of channels worked well as did WiFi.

The staff on the front desk in particular are fantastic - very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was fine, with the usual offerings, nice to have brown bread and the bircher muesli was good. The atmospheric rooftop restaurant has superb 360 degree views of Manila and is obviously a popular venue for drinking and dining. We ate dinner there which we really enjoyed - the food was good, well-priced and it was lovely and balmy with a cool evening breeze and just a very nice laid-back atmosphere - highly recommended.

It was our first trip to the Philippines and we were a little nervous about security in Manila. Our fears proved unfounded. It's a crazy, busy, hectic city and traffic is horrendous, but the people are really lovely and we felt quite safe for the most part (although we didn't walk around at night). We would definitely recommend staying in Intramuros which is that bit calmer with a lot less traffic. The Bayleaf is in an ideal location and was a perfect start to a wonderful Philippines holiday.

We stayed in this lovely hotel, tucked away inside intramuros which is the historical part of the city.
It is a delightful hotel with absolutely amazing staff with each and everyone going the extra mile to help you and make you feel at home.
We arrived late evening after a long flight and were greeted by Lecester at the desk who in no time had us established in our room.
The roof top bar and restaurant is very nice with great views of the city.
We stayed during Typhoon Haiyan and the staff were fantastically helpful changing our travel arrangements especially Santi who worked tirelessly to help us.
This hotel has the best staff we have ever come accross.
we will definately come back.

Room Tip: higher floors overlooking the golf course.

Stayed here for 1 night on my weekendcitytrip in Manila.
I arrived in hotel 4 hours early before checkin time and they prepared me a room to have a nap after a midnight flight without extra charge.
Nice room, good size, great interior design with good views over the city. Clean and spacious bathroom.
Breakfast was extensive on the top floor of the hotel with even better views over the city.
I can certainly recommend this hotel who anyone who is looking for a relaxing place in this vibrant and loud city.

Super hotel. The staff are amazing. Perfect location. We rooms are very nice and the bed was so comfortable that we did not want to get up. The hotel is within the old walled city and a nice retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. Loved it.

Went here for just one night to do the Intramuros tour and see the downtown area. The hotel was very nice. If you stay, make sure you plan on dinner at the Sky Lounge. It was great food, super entertainment and the view is amazing. We figured we could do one night and see it all. WRONG. We are definitely going to have to go back and stay another night. Very friendly staff, pretty rooms and very clean.

Very clean, well equipped and nicely located hotel in Manila. Greatest customer service I have ever experienced from any hotel in the world, from every single staff member. Warm, friendly, welcoming and attentive. Received free upgrade to room with a view. These rooms have a very nice view of the golf course and various skyscrapers. Sky Deck view bar excellent, albiet pricey.

Room Tip: Grab a room with a view on a high floor.
