Not my second time for Tunes, I love how clean and nice their hotel is. This wasn't my trip so I couldn't disagree on where to stay. Ermita area, for me, would be a place near to Manila Bay, minutes away from MOA, American Embassy, surrounded by fast-food chains, pubs, work-abroad agencies and to top it all, right across the hotel, the sight would be ladies in short skirts and the neighboring ones are girly bars. I knew I had to expect to see things like this because I have been here for quite a few times for the church though some of my friends were first-timers to roam around this place, they didn't expect we'd be staying here. Anyhooo, even though the hotel is situated in a place like this, when you get inside, it's totally different. It was clean, peaceful despite the noise pollution outside, the front-desk ladies were helpful and some staff were also being pleasant to us. We had to inquire for the rates again and this guy was very patient and kind in answering our queries. The room we had was small (typical for Tunes) with two single beds but it was spic-and-span (it should be!). You also have to know that you have to deal with extra payment for other services (ac, tv, wifi, extra towel, etc.) on top of the room rates. We also had 10% discount for Maloney's (resto-pub near the hotel's entrance) and there's 7-eleven within the building to grab some stuff you need. If you are going to check out and need to leave your luggage at the concierge, they will ask for another surcharge. More so, you can just easily get a cab or jeepney when you step outside if you need to go somewhere. Overall, it was a good place to stay. :)

I stayed one night with my husband in this hotel. The price is cheap although you have to pay for all the services (wifi, towels, aircon, etc). The district of Ermita is not very nice but close to intramuros. The rooms are modern and really nice.

Clean, modern, soulless brand of hotels. Pleasant enough if you're on a budget and want a good nights sleep. Just don't ask the taxi driver if he knows where it is. Tell him Malate church or Aristocrat if he's struggling as they're nearby. It is in a good location and good if you're on a budget.

Tune is the complete antithesis to experiencing local culture. It is a big, bland block. Probably equivalent to a prison in the UK. Every space is taken up by a fold out table, a foldable clothes rack or an advertising board. I think a hospital waiting room has more atmosphere than this place. You also have to shuffle around the bed as there isn't enough space to walk.

However, you just can't fault the convenience of it. It is so clean. Sterile in fact. There is a seven eleven downstairs. It can be really cheap if you book in advance and if you don't want to watch tv, or have aircon, or even have a towel. You pay for everything extra (I really mean everything), and the price soon mounts up if you want to treat yourself to something like soap, for instance. One problem we did encounter: the shower wasn't draining very well.

I've had a look at the other hotels within the brand and they are identical! An absolute monster of a money making machine. Very depressing to think that a place like this may put local b and b's out of business.

So, yeah, I probably hate myself a little for giving them more money, but I had a good sleep.

That's not a welcoming hotel at all...you have to pay for towel, a/c/tv/wifi and also if you want to leave your luggages at the reception desk!

It's seem like everything it's in the fashion/design thing and not enough in the friendly side...

This review came late as we checked in last july 2012 but still memories were fresh. Booked for two nights thru agoda and came out very cheap at 800 all in compared to walkins where when you book a room you still need to pay more for the add ons (tv, aircon, wifi, towels).

Service was average but 1 thing i disliked about was they literally charge you per bag for deposit when you already checked out and you wish to leave your bags for an hour or two. Very dissapointing.

Their keycards also looks very cheap as they only attach a torn scotch tape to indicate the room number. Aside from those mentioned, everything was great.

I go to Manila for the christmas extravangaza. The malls and streets are alive with the season. The ballet in the Cultural Centre Is a must. Certain rooms have bad wifi connection. I requested for a room change and was promptly given one. The security here is great and friendly.
