I just finished spending 4 nights at this hotel in Manila, Philppines. Most of the reviews about it are very accurate. It is a relatively new hotel in the entertainment district of Manilla. I found it to be quite sufficient at a veryvreasonable price.
It does have a lot of action going on all around it boy night and day but it's the evening when things get busy. I just stood out front of the hotel last night (a Saturday) and was entertained watching everything going on.
The rooms are rather small. I only had about 3 feet on each side of my bed but it worked out fine. I also had no problem with any of the noise outside. It's the rude neighbors coming in a 2-4 in the morning and decide to talk in the hall like it's 2 in the afternoon that I have an issue with but that can happen anywhere.
If you want something basis, clean and reasonable this is a good choice.

Room Tip: Chiding a room not overlooking the main street would help with any outside noise.

The hotel is clean and cheap and located in the centre of the Red light district.
Don't expect too much there in terms of services. But for what you pay, it is well worth it.
They have a nice pub outside and it very near the Mall of Asia.

I booked through a third party website and had obviously misunderstood what purported to be a rating system and thought I was getting a three star! After I regrouped and had time to re-assess I could see It was a clever business deal which was offering a very clean hotel, good bedding, very good and helpful security, a brilliant power shower which was almost instantaneous and a brand new TV which worked perfectly. There was no room service as such, not even a telephone.

BUT, the hotel front desk all spoke good English, check in was a breeze and the security staff were polite, friendly and helpful! The secret weapon that the hotel does have is a 24 hour restaurant which is technically separate but owned by the same people. The food is very good if a little pricey.

So in exchange for being in the central(ish) restaurant and bar district it was, for me, worth putting up with no room service (though the restaurant will deliver to your door and you can use you cell phone to order, and without the usual facilities because it was relatively cheap. If I wanted 4 star service I could not have got it at this price!

One tip: don't use the taxis at the hotel, go around the corner to the road and save double
Tip two: there is a cheap laundry service run by Hermes in one of the two approach roads

Tune Hotel in Ermita / Manila is obviously part of a hotel chain. There are numerous adverts illustrating other Tune Hotels all over the Philippines in the rooms, on the hallway, and at the reception.

The rooms are small but clean and there is free WiFi. The staff is somewhat bureaucratic and unflexible and guests are charged separately for additional services, such as luggage storage, even if it's only for a few hours.

The connected restaurant downstairs (some Irish themed locale) serves pricy beer and bad food. Nevertheless, staff there is nice. But it's in the very centre of Manila's "entertainment district", so there are many old men with young women around. You might not want to go to this place with a family.

My husband booked the double room for us via booking.com for Feb 25-27. I arrived late around 1 AM and I had no problem with the check in, got room 802. However, we tried to call and send email the hotel to confirm the room before I arrive but they were not responsive. The room was small but very convenience with a nice bed, big LCD TV with international channels, saving box, ads in the room and bathroom, effective aircond, big mirror that make the room looks bigger, low blow hair dryer (that didn’t work for me), high speed internet a smoke detector with a flashing red light (I had to call the front desk twice and ask someone to check to make sure that the red flashing was not a problem). The bathroom had a high shower, but the water heater didn't work on the second day which they attributed to ongoing pipe maintenance. Furthermore, there is a 7/11 downstairs which is open 24/7. I can't talk about the restaurant in the hotel because I didn't eat there but they gave me a 20% off voucher for breakfast. As for location of the hotel, it is very strategic in the red district with a 5-10 minute walk to Robinson Place mall, 20 mins to rizal park, 30 mins to intramarous, 45mins walking to the fort santiago. The hotel is surrounded by japanese/korean restaurant. Overall, you get much more than what you pay for with this hotel.

The hotel is cheap with a super efficient check in. Th room is spotless and everything works. Handy 7/11 downstairs and an Irish pub without needing to walk out outside. The food though in the pub was very poor. Filipino sauce all over my nachos. Horrible.
The big downside of this hotel is the room size and that is why it is cheap. For sole occupancy and a late arrival and early check out, the hotel is perfect, but for a two or three night stay with more than just yourself in the room, the room is depressingly small.
If you are on a budget, you won't get a room of this quality anywhere else easily. For the same price, the standards will drop remarkably, but it would be impossible to imagine a smaller room.
Great value though, no matter how you look at it.
