This is a hotel with its own special "colonial" character. The welcome is warm and professional. The room has this special Filipino colonial touch, with local furniture and all the details taken care of. The bathroom is impressive with huge shower cabin, bath tub and flatscreen television. Everything was perfect and in perfect condition.
The Champagne Room restaurant was excellent and the service just as professional as you would expect from such a place. Unfortunately the same cannot be said about the buffet restaurant and the Chinese restaurant. Eventhough both places were half-empty when I went there, the waiters were taking it very easy and at times completely forgot you.
One could wish that the access to the lobby was a little more restricted. At times the beautiful lobby appears more like a central station (with all the on-lookers from outside) than a place where you would like to sit and enjoy a drink.
But still, compared to other hotels I have stayed at in Manila, Manila Hotel is still the best place to stay.More
