“Old hotel but nice pool”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 June 2014

The hotel is already old as can be seen on the structure. Although there was re-painting of the walls, the carpets, varnished furniture and ceiling needed some mending and touch ups. There was even an old fashioned hair dryer in the bathroom which gets overheated after long use. Two old bath towels and two hand towels were provided.

There were two single beds with a pillow each. We turned on the big screen (but not flat) TV and alas---there was a pornographic film showing and we could not change it so we had to call maintenance to have it fixed. Turned out that the previous guest paid for the service but it was not terminated right away when he checked out. Good that my granddaughter was not around that time.

While checking-in there was a client who was complaining of both key cards not functioning. I had that same experience too. I thought of calling up front desk to assist me. Unfortunately, there was no house phone on the floor.

The front office staffs seemed too busy to render a smile or make correct breakfast and welcome drink coupons. We had ours dated five days later than our stay. Good that there was one staff who was accommodating enough to assist us. I am happy too for the late check out that we were able to avail of.

Saving grace: the swimming pool and Jacuzzi. They have one oval pool for those who just want to have fun and a lapping pool for those who want to stretch some muscles and lose some calories. Towels, shower rooms and lockers are also available.

Room Tip: non smoking room on high level floors with view of Manila Bay

Dear Ianaval,

Thank you so much for posting a review. We would like to apologize for all the inconvenience we have caused you. We are happy to note that you enjoyed our swimming pools and the water is temperature-controlled, it is warm compared to other hotel pools in Metro Manila. We have renovated rooms in our deluxe floors from 14th to 17th floor. It has modern furnishings and a better view because it is higher. We hope that you will give us another chance to be of service to you, and if you do we highly recommend booking a deluxe room.

We stayed in 3 units of Deluxe Rooms (renovated) it was fantastic. Checked in was ok, u can request to lock the fridge so kids wont be able to get anything there cos drinking water was pricey. Theres a supermarket just across the main entrance and u can get everthing u need in the normal prices. Bed was comfy and pillows are soft . The bathroom has its own speaker so when u relax on the tub u can watch a movie easily. The kids enjoyed it they had thier cartoons on all the time.

The swimming pool was old but clean and big. Water was warm but the lap fool was a bit cold. Food aren't allowed but There's a cafe that serves drinks and snacks.
I loved the halo halo u can help urself and choose which ingredients u prefer.

We had a huge pizza (30") ordered outside the hotel for my niece bday we want to put a candle on it and sing happy bday bfore we all eat and when it came we asked the staff to send it to our room cos it was not allowed to be deliver straight by the delivery guy. It took very long ( 25minutes )kids already ate fried chicken and we r all hungry so my husband just went down to pick it up. It's sad to have this mistake when u already planned everything. We weren't so hungry anymore when we had it.
Same as when we asked for extra toiletries and towel it took forever.

At buffet dinner , food was nice , more of asian filipino food but its tasty and nice. If ur family is big like us 10 + 1 highchair expect to wait as they kinda get confuse of the sitting arrangements. At first they want us to have a round table with only 8 chairs and plates of course we refused obviously we wont fit especially kids they need thier space. The long table we asked they said it was reserved but after 15 min of waiting they finally gave it up.
We want to buy small cute cakes they have for the bday girl but they said it will cost us double if we will bring it to the restaurant connected to that shop and we are all shocked what? Why? we dont understand. So my sister asked anyone aside from the lady behind it and finally they said the supervisor already left so we can have the cake at the normal prices.

At the end we enjoyed our stay they have a huge lobby and comfy sofa we stayed their to have a drink and it was fantastic the lady who assisted us in there was fast and very friendly. We left the hotel with happy smiles. Just remember you cannot have everything perfect even if u planned ahead you just have to learn not to ruin your day with small mistakes. So I give it 4stars. 5 if staff was faster.

Dear Melnav N

Thank you so much for posting a review.

We regret to learn about the slow service you experienced on at least two occasions and your concerns during your dining experience. We apologize for all the inconvenience it has caused you.

On the other hand we were delighted that our deluxe rooms exceeded your expectations. Moreover, we are happy to learn that you enjoyed your stay in our pool and your halo-halo (assorted sweet ingredients with milk and shaved ice). We are also glad that your experience in our Atrium Lounge was very positive.

We are very thankful that you chose our hotel to stay in and celebrate an important birthday. We look forward to welcoming you again in the near future.

This was where we were put up by Philippine Airlines when they canceled our flight to Tagbilaran earlier today (and all the other flights they canceled). My room in the third floor was supposedly non-smoking (there was a 'no smoking' sign on the bedside table) but it reeks of cigarette smoke. I asked the concierge if I could transfer rooms but she said all the rooms were taken but that they'll have my room ionized. An hour later and still no housekeeping, and my room still reeks.

Also, the hotel is quite old; I checked the rates of the hotel and the prices do not justify the state of the room. They offer free wifi of only up to 200 mb; if you want to be online more, you'll have to pay.

There are much better and same priced-hotels (if not cheaper) around the area than Century Park Hotel. I won't recommend staying here.

Dear Renee L,
Thank you so much for posting a review. Third is a smoking floor, in the bedside table of all smoking rooms, there is a small tent card with the international logo of No-Smoking and a reminder "DO NOT SMOKE IN THE BED." We regret that we were not able to provide a non-smoking room, due to the last minute arrangement made by your airline the hotel became full and we just assigned all rooms that were available at the time. We do have renovated rooms on our non-smoking floors 15th, 16th and 18th floors.

Very old filthy hotel. Smells musty everywhere. There seems to be no upgrade since the 1970s. The rugs in my room had large water stains and so were the lamp shades. Ceiling was coming apart. The front desk seems to give preferential treatment to the koreans. Restaurant food was horrible and the food prices sere high. Only good thing were some of the staff.

Room Tip: Dont stay here

Thank you so much for posting a review. We regret we were not aware about your concerns in your room, we could have done something about it. With regards to food and beverage we can also offer a discount for in-house guests. We do have renovated rooms on our deluxe floors 14th to 17th. On one hand we are delighted that some of our staff have met some of your expectations.

The room was spacious but really shows ageing. They really need to renovate and update all their rooms, I think the room rate does not justify the room condition. I even slid going out the bathroom and hit my head in the cabinet in front of the door since the tiles were slippery.

Breakfast was adequate, variety wise ok,taste is also ok. Nothing spectacular. It's near Harrison Plaza (Mall) so if you want food you could easily buy/eat there or if you need groceries so you won't have to consume the mini bar.

Century Park Hotel was what to be expected for the price I payed for 4 nights. It's location is not too bad. Reasonably close to the airport, Makati, and the bay.
However....The upkeep of the exterior needs some urgent attention. The foyer is impressive and it seems that's where they spend their money in the upkeep. It was a nice size pool and an additional lap pool for lap swimming as well. It has a fully equipped gymnasium as well. The hoel in general is a little old but overall not bad for the price.
The bar within the foyer has comfortable lounge type chairs. One thing that disappointed me is they allow smokers to smoke inside the foyer and in the bar area as well.

Room Tip: I think all rooms are the same. They do have smoking and non smoking floors.

Thank you so much for posting a review. We are glad that you found our swimming pools and gym to your liking. We do offer other room categories aside from the one you booked. Our deluxe rooms on the 14th to the 17th floors had been renovated. I am sure the modern interior of these rooms will meet your expectations. Once again, thank you.

Me and my patner stayed here for 4 nghts.
The reason we stayed because the pictures looks very nice -
They have a huge nice FOYER and lounge. they have a good pianist and musicians that plays at night so that is really relaxing when you stay at the lounge and have a drink
Restaurant is okay. food are okay. Staff are nice.
Rooms needs to be updated, bed sofas and TVs - the balcony and exterior of the building is very bad maintained. Well we had a good sleep so that is important. We will not stay in this hotel again though.
