“Good stay”
Reviewed 8 October 2013

Good stay in manila just along the beach. Hotel serves nice Philippines style breakfast, among the best I have so far although the dining area at one point had so many ppl that there was a queue. The rooms were not as new as the carpet had some musky smell to it and the aircon continuously gave a ticking sound.

Rooms are okay. Stayed for 5 days. Along with my husband we checked in to this hotel for 5 days in July 2013. Security personnels are rude. Staffs are not professionally trained. Breakfast Buffet looks dirty, lifts are too small, i just can't forget my experienced with one of the security guards who ruin my day, it was July 8, 2013.TERRIBLE! This hotel should close.

Staying at this hotel was an odd experience. The staff were very polite at first but the positive side of the experience stopped there. There were a number of problems.
1. The hotel corridors smell. This is mainly because of the humidity but no one tries to improve.
2. The pool on the roof is a plunge pool and the whole area is filthy.
3. Breakfast never changes and if you are there for more than a few days it becomes incredibly repetitive and boring.
4. My camera was either left in the restaurant or stolen and the reception would not report it to the police or even give me the phone number so that I could do it. I wonder if they lose a lot of things this way.
5. Finally, when I arrived there was a broken coat hanger in the room. This was reported to housekeeping. When I left they tried to charge me for it.

The hotel was good value until my camera got lost.

The only thing good about this hotel is location, nothing else.

The rooms are old and filthy, I did not even attempt to walk barefoot because it looks very dirty. The mattress is so firm and the pillows are not comfortable. The blankets are old and rough too.

The breakfast buffet, I would say is average, especially if you are into Filipino foods. But the Dining area is so small and it seems like they just cordoned an area by the lobby to be the dining area, I mean it is not in a big room, it does not even have a door, since its on the lobby.

I am really disappointed with the breakfast selection. It is really limited and the selection includes mainly oily dishes. The room is really old. The bed is very uncomfortable. The only positive point that I can say is the location which is near the US Embassy.

I have here twice now whilst on a stopover between Manila and Kalibo. It's a good location (opposite the US Embassy on Roxas Boulevard) - great for walks along Manila Bay and also close to good restaurants. Whilst the area doesn't feel as secure as Makati, it does feel more like you're in an edgy capital, rather than a sterile bubble for the wealthy. The hotel itself is good - friendly staff, clean rooms (I've always had a bay view - I think they all do, hence the hotel name), nice breakfast and competitive price. I will book this hotel again next time. If you're flying in or out of Manila, it's only around 30 minutes to both airports.
