Most of the people who went here asked for grace. Even celebrities, politician and even ordinary person. According to them, most of the prayers were answered here. So i tried.
I went here and asked for something and now, I have what i have prayed.. :)) Thanks a lot!

By the way, beware outside since this a crowded place. There were times, there are pick pockets around and most of them are kids ... :((( Just take care!

Quiapo church is otherwise known as St John the Baptist Parish and home to millions of devotees of the Black Nazarene and perhaps one of the oldest church ever built in Manila. In front of the church is the famous Plaza Miranda where political campaigns, rallies were held and a silent witness to the plaza miranda bombing during the Marcos regime. A few blocks away is the location of one the Muslim Centers in the city. but be careful of your personal belongings when you visit the area specially on Fridays, the place is too crowded with churchgoers and shoppers as well as pickpockets and snatchers. There are a lot of vendors selling almost anything from foods, shoes, traditional Muslim clothes and ornaments, celphone parts, native delicacies, etc. if you are a catholic, or a Muslim and looking for a different experience, i recommend this place where you can see 2 different beliefs and culture bonded and shared by its people.

home of the black nazarene, the quiapo church is a great icon of the city of manila. i was first introduced to the church by my grandmother who was a devotee (complete with the maroon dress and golden yellow belt). as the years pass, i've seen a lot of changes in the church. i'm glad that the plaza in front has now been (mostly) cleared of vendors (although not of the gnarly traffic, especially on fridays). this morning i was even surprised to find that there's a big screen outside showing the ongoing mass inside, for people who can't come in because of congestion. that i thought was a great idea. it could still use a little bit more cleaning up, but then again, it's quiapo. part of its history and charm is the chaos that lives around it. somehow it won't be the same if it achieved the ambiance of san agustin or the manila cathedral -- and truth be told, i don't think i want it to.

The atmosphere was vibrant with colors, sounds and smells, all good! The church by contrast was very peaceful. The church is beautiful and is home of the Black Nazarene, which is unique.

Its a place to go if you are a devotee to the Black Nazarene! yet Quiapo with all its charm like the street vendors, hawkers and manghuhulas still retain its unique charm... I like going here coz its already not so dirty as before.. it has more breathing room and is still a good area for buying stuff coz its cheap!!
