“What happen”
Reviewed 3 November 2013

- the hotel is used to be good overall, the staff are used to be friendlier except for the old lady manager, the facilities are used to be functioining right, service used to be fast and efficient. But what happened? When i went back to stay last 2-3 months ago, it was over crowded by guest came from mainland china. Cigarette smoke were everywhere along the hallway, loud shouting voices that are irritating to ears. And even the rooms seemed to be untidy knowing that china men slept on it that they will spit anywhere and anytime. Breakfast was also awful. It's like they arw doing it for the sake of having a "buffet breakfast" on their room package. Last, the old lady manager. For owners of this hotel, you really should consider of demoting her to "bell girl" first to learn how to respect guests and how to be hospitable. Remember, you are in the hotel bussiness! Hospitable is the most important word that you should remember. So guys, give a second, third, fourth or even five thought in staying in this hotel. You will get you money's worth in others.

Warm welcome from frontdesk to housekeeping. Room quality depends on type. They have low cost tourtist inn / motel type room and a more luxurious room are also available. A good variety of menu during breakfast. A very nice restaurant on the ground floor, but no room service. Spa / Massage center on building. Huge front lobby.

Room Tip: get cheap room for 1-2 night stay or better room if staying longer.

I stayed here for 10 days and did find the hotel quite comfortable.

Things I like and do not like about the Hotel:

1) Room: clean and spacious; good water pressure in the bathroom; comfortable bed; good sized window although not much of a view; mini-bar; safety deposit box in the room; good sized flat screen T.V. with two free small water bottle every day.

2) Hotel has excellent Spa although they are concessionaires, the services are excellent. I had a reflexology several times during my stay and also had a manicure and pedicure.

I am little bit disappointed about the gym. Although it is a good sized gym with well maintained equipment, the fee is quite limiting and steep even for a hotel guest. The staff are not too friendly. I only went once out of desperation as I miss my gym routine.

3) Receptionists and Concierge (or Bellboys?) are superb. Very helpful and always willing to help. The housekeepers are nice and polite. I made every effort to tip daily.

4) My hotel package includes daily breakfast. Breakfast is average and a bit limiting and for someone who stayed for 10 days, I would have appreciated more variety. Type geared more on Asian guests.

5) Lobby is grand with lots of oversized sculptures, Parisian style but I think the hotel needs to hire a Decorator that could tastefully placed those decorations, as supposed to being scattered around the lobby with less thought or purpose.

6) Hotel is closed to subway but not so pleasant a surroundings to walk around at night. Although I feel safe, I refuse to wander around on my own nor during late evenings. During day time, it is quite a delight to stroll around if you want to see and experience the local life (as supposed to seeing the touristy stuff).

I would not hesitate to stay in this hotel again and I certainly recommend it to everyone. It is not a budget hotel but the price, I think, is fair enough for what it can offer.
