if you must stay in manila (i had to)and you don't want to spend too much on accomodation, this is an option. make sure, you are in the renovation part of the hotel. the old part has smoking rooms which stinks. staff is very friendly and helpful. only few meters from the american embassy, promenade and Robinson Mall

Room Tip: make sure not to get rooms facing the bay on the old part of the hotel. there is an active night clu...

I was in this hotel for about the last 2 weeks of September. Front desk is helpful, free buffet breakfast is passable, rates are okay; but overall cleanliness may be lacking. A small mouse was darting in and out of my room. Not until I called housekeeping and we trapped the mouse did we get rid of the pest. The mouse might have been a reare occurence, but it bespeaks of management concern for guests.

Room Tip: I was given a room at the new wing addition, which was supposed to be a better room.

Pros: The wooden floors, jacuzzi, clean rooms, Wi-Fi, good breakfast buffet and restaurant with
a great selection

Cons: Light sleepers beware of the 24/7 noise outside (honking jeepneys in particular)
Glass windows at the breakfast buffet show you the extremes in Manila: a couple of
beggars will be outside watching you eat

Room Tip: Get a room on the highest floor to somewhat minimize the noise outside

The room rates were reasonable, and we were upgraded into the new section and the room was very nice, BUT, if you get a room at the back of the hotel, there is a bar close by with live music, very loud music, which can be heard even with the air-conditioner and TV on!!
They didn't warn us, so I am even more disappointed. If you do stay there, ask for a room up high, and not at the back. We didn't sleep properly both nights.
Breakfast is very nice and they will even cook an egg for you. staff were very nice, even the the room cleaner was great.
It is one block away from Robinson Mall, you just have to avoid all the street kids begging, keep your bags close to you and closed, the kids are becoming more desperate.
The gym is small but excellent, a real surprise.

Room Tip: Ask for a room up high, if they can't promise that, change hotel! Learn the term "Hindi Po...

Lotus Garden Hotel in Manila is an excellent choice if you are looking for a low-price, great value accommodation with excellent service, conveniently located in Manila. I have stayed here twice, recently with friends. The hotel is not new, but our room was very clean and presentable, everything in it was working well. The hotel is well-maintained. The lobby is nice and classy looking, you won't be embarrased to invite friends at the lobby. Great value - free wifi in room and was working well, free buffet breakfast which was delicious. Service of staff is top quality. There is no moment that you are ignored at this hotel, everyone greets you with smile, provide assistance, every single staff from front doorman, to reception, to bellmen, to restaurant staff. The doorman always ensure we are safe when we catch a taxi in front of hotel by recording the taxi details. There is also a currency exchange facility with a competitive rate. Shops and restaurants, pharmacy are walking distance. The only slight downside is that the hotel is not located in a upmarket city area, so expect to see some people begging for money around the area.

I stayed at the lotus garden hotel for about a week. the rooms were adequate and comfortable. They were clean and the housekeeping did an excellent job. The front desk was very helpful, courteous and professional. They made an effort to learn my name. The security there was topnotch. The room rates were very reasonable. If i return to manila, i will stay there again. I know there are better hotels, but this one made you feel welcomed. The only thing that was little lacking was their buffet breakfast. They really love their hotdogs there. But, it was a free buffet breakfast and the help there was also very good. I know some people complained about the noise from the bar across the street. Yes, I could hear the band, but they do not play all night and if you close the window, you can barely hear them. The front desk also exchanged money for me and they do have a safety deposit box.
There are people that are going to complain about every little thing. But for the money, i highly reccomend this hotel. Thank you staff of lotus garden. You guys are doing a great job. Keep it up

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the far side of the hotel if you go to bed early at night.
