Owner description: Roxas Boulevard is a popular waterfront promenade in Manila in the Philippines. The boulevard, which runs along the shores of Manila Bay, is well-known for its sunsets and stretch of coconut trees. The divided roadway has become a trademark of Philippine tourism, famed for its yacht club, hotels, restaurants, commercial buildings and parks. Originally called Cavite Boulevard, it was renamed Dewey Boulevard in honor of the American Admiral George Dewey, who under his command defeated the Spanish navy in the Battle of Manila Bay in 1898. The boulevard was again renamed to Heiwa Boulevard in late 1941 during Japanese Home Rule and Roxas Boulevard in the 1960s to honor President Manuel Roxas, the fifth president of the Republic of Philippines. The arcing road runs in a north-south direction from Rizal Park in Manila and ends in Parañaque at the intersection of Ninoy Aquino International Airport Road. However, the most popular points along the Boulevard can be found along a 3-kilometer stretch, whose endpoints are bounded by Rizal Park and the Cultural Center of the Philippines. In between those two points can be found the Manila Yacht Club, Manila Ocean Park and the US Embassy.

“nice view of the ocean”
Reviewed 16 February 2014

could walk along the ocean, with nice sunset, but didn't feel completely safe, because a lot of men stared at us (two girls alone)
abbiamo camminato lungo l'oceano, con un bel tramonto, ma non ci siamo sentite particolarmente al sicuro, perchü molti uomini ci fissavano, due ragaze da sole

“Needs to improve”

One great thing about Manila is Roxas Blvd. Where you see Manila Bay and enjoy the sunset. I wanted to spend more time looking around but i'm not so sure for security if with family. Perhaps an area designated for known food stalls just for snacks will help. I tend to avoid street food while travelling. The Famous Sunset really gives this place a most see for all travelers.

“Dewey blvd!!!”

This all the filipino you can get, it's just a very short boulevard, but once you pass by this, you will learn mostly everything you should by staying in The Philippines, it is a landmark and should be considered a national heritage, paging politicians, please improve this road!

Thirty years ago(it was called Dewey Blvd before that), walking along the Manila Bay on this road was so "pure and simple" where few big buildings is erected on the bay side area and the the sun sets beautifully in horizon...Now buildings sprouted left and right and "blocking" the majority of the view of the bay when you are walking by...Developers just keep on pouring the bay with fill up materials so they can build more buildings on it...It is so sad that the Philippine government is not regulating this area...Oh well, its still a good walk (or jog) to these days so enjoy...

“Major Road in Manila”
Reviewed 28 August 2013

This is a long road where you can see the famous Manila Bay. There are different hotels with in this area like the Bayview Hotel, Hyatt Hotel and Traders Hotel. The Centennial Clock in Luneta Park is also located along Roxas Boulevard. The only transportation that I have notice here is an FX taxi going to Sucat area.
