“Business with Pleasure!”

If you want to set up a meeting and would like to avoid the heavy traffic in Makati, i would suggest that you try out this hotel. In terms of restaurant choices or nightlife entertainment this hotel is the place to go. Rooms may need some improvement, but since you are in this hotel, you'd probably end up being out most of the time partying. ;)

This isn't a personal attack on the Imperial Palace Suites...I'm just telling it like it was. It all started off when a close friend of mine wanted to check into a room for just one day. We arrived in the Philippines for a Medical Mission and we were extremely tired from the long flight. My friend was asked for her Debit Card so that they can charge her for a days stay (She was going to later share a room with her best friend who was arriving a day later). They charged her for an 8 day stay instead of a one day stay and they did it three times. The Hotel knew of the Mistake but refused to refund her back. She then called her bank in the United States and they put a freeze on her account because of the mistake made by the Hotel Staff and their management. Basically...she was out of luck with no money to spend. Being a good friend, I helped her out financially, but the whole incident was uncalled for. To make matters worst, they tried to charge me for extra services I never got from the Hotel. When the Air-conditioning went out and I called them about it to get it fixed, they tried to charge me for it. They also tried to charge me for 5 phone calls I didn't make. And I don't want to talk about the elevator. The Management and the Staff were more concerned about getting their staff on the elevator than the paying customers that booked rooms at this Hotel. We came to this country to help people out and we paid a lot of money to stay at this hotel...we deserved a little bit better...that's my perspective...

This hotel has hidden charges, and not very nice... especially for the price. I could tell this hotel is only worried about the bottom line. Many better options around.

I've seen a trend over the last 2 years with this hotel. The staff is less friendly and helpful, the rooms are aging and the food have really become awful.

I used to highly recommend this hotel, but lately I have not been as pleased with my experience. The internet used to be very expensive, but they now offer it for free. However, the wifi in my room this time was such poor quality, it was unusable. Each morning I would take a trip to the roof top to get my computer work done. The wifi worked excellent up there. You can also walk next door to Starbucks to use that wifi is you so desire.

A breakfast buffet is offered, but the food quality is very low and this trip I avoided room/food service completely. Odd smells crept up from the food preparation area and I was not confident in the quality.

Pool area is small, but nice.

Some of the best places to eat in the area have closed or changed menus, so you have to seek and test what is good now. Lots of pizza places, some good japanese places just a couple of blocks away. Avoid the Korean food right across the street!

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Perhaps the draperies were dingy, but otherwise no complaints, but it is showing it's age. For over a year now they have posted signs about excusing the sites and sounds of renovation, but I have not seen signs of the updates yet.

If you wish for the quietest rooms, get one on the backside of the hotel. Like most places in the Manila, traffic is heavy and the rooms on the front of the hotel have the best views, but the most street noise.

Just a few doors down you will find the 7-11 to buy your beer, water and smokes...very convienient.

If you need to be in Quezon City and can get a good price, it is still ok to stay there, just don't expect to enjoy the food. The best rates I found were from asiatravel.com They have always been helpful. Just like any property, shop prices carefully and don't bother with the packages that include breakfast.

This review is not out of any malice but rather just a sincere reminder to everyone intending to lodge in this hotel and will be reviewed most assuredly, in an obejctive manner.
The Good:
1. Staff was very courteous, polite and accomodating.
2. A Starbucks located adjacent to the hotel lobby, with Wifi capability.
3. No roach/rodent seen in our 1 night of stay.
The Bad:
1. Dusty, musty curtains and bed covers which had become gray from not being laundered.
2. Old thinned out (but washed) towels, sheets and pillow cases.
3. Drains of tubs had to be removed manually in order for the water to be drained out.
4. The 2-bedroom suite is narrow.
5. Carpets were dusty and dirty.
6. Reasonably priced but you will pay the price for cheapness indeed.
