“Homey Ambience, Quiet Place, Great Food”
Reviewed 9 July 2014

Forget the fact that it is tucked in a side road in the busy Morato restaurant district. At least, one can park outside without being harangued by watch your car boys. The country style cafe is a delightful place to rest one's heels and sip drinks for a long while. Very few people come, which is both a good thing since you can have the place all to yourself, yet a bad thing because many people are missing on a gem.

Very little pretense in the decor and the menu is imaginative. The prices can set one's purse a bit off-course but by and large, it can be a thrilling dining experience.

“A place to get together with friends and family”
Reviewed 30 May 2014

Super cute place with delicious food. Must try dishes in my opinion are the Pesto Fries, Tartufo Pasta, Kare-Kare, Baked Dory. They have a mocktail called Rio and it is just so refreshing and it's probably one of my favorite drinks. They also have set menus for events. :)

“Nice service, great "laing" a simple pleasant place.”
Reviewed 1 December 2013

It's an old house, as with many other restaurants in the area. so the ambience literally makes one feel at home. And the staff are courteous and friendly, so that adds up points to making the place a comfortable place to eat. The appetisers came in less than 10 minutes.

We had the vegetarian hummus as an appetiser. The hummus itself was great although the they put a twist to the pita bread making it a bit harder than what I am accustomed to. Try it though, it's good. The "Dynamite" was also good - deep friend green chill peppers.

The family had Spicy Tinapa pasta, Tartufo, Mixed Seafood Stew and laing. What stood out was the laing -the first taste gives a full and great impression! The mixed seafood stew was a disappointment though. It was mostly tomatoes, mussel and shrimp. And it didn't taste like it was stewed for a long time. The kick was simply not there.

Overall, it's a nice place, not outstanding, but if you want a simple quiet Sunday lunch, Lola's not a bad place to go.

“Lovely place and ambiance! Perfect for dates.”
Reviewed 19 July 2013 via mobile

Just got home after a short date with ny partner where we had 2 beers each and one appetizer so sorry I cannot say much about the food as we only ordered the one thing.

The gambas + chorizo appetizer was a no brainer given it combined the 2 things we both loved eating. Shrimps were deveined and perfectly seasoned with oil, chili, and garlic. Chorizo was delicious as well. Needless to say the order was 'bitin' or not enough as there were only 6 pieces of shrimp at some half sliced of chorizo and we kept wishing there were more.

Ambiance is great and homey, interiors are white and black with hints of green and silver. It is another of those old homes converted into restaurants which is becoming common in the Tomas Morato and Scout area these days. This is a great hole in the wall spot and will definitely bring my family next time as we have hit our quota with the ' Romulo' chain of restaurants.

** Bathroom sign is hilarious

** Soap in the bathroom needs improvement as it had the consistency of water with some kind of food coloring.
