After traveling down a two lane road that seems to be off the beaten path, you suddenly come upon this wonderful property and home. It is like an oasis in the mountains. It is beautiful! Mark and Melissa Harris were the gracious innkeepers at the Hawkesdene House. We were given a tour of the house and told the history of the B&B. Our room was immaculate! The deck, on the back of the house, looks out into the woods and a babbling brook can be heard below. There are many chairs and rockers on the deck for the guests relaxation. Breakfast was served at 8:30 and was wonderful!!! A full gourmet breakfast that left us stuffed! I even had to have two of the recipes. We highly recommend this B&B and would definitely stay there again!

We loved the inn; the setting is perfect. It is quiet and peacefull. We could hear the creek running outside our bedroom window. It was 100% clean and the food was wonderful as well as the innkeepers. This is the perfect week-end getaway.

The beautiful inn, ambiance, area, food and especially the friendly innkeepers, Melissa and Mark were top notch. The inn was clean. It felt very comfortable there. The llama trek to the top of the mountain in the evening for dinner was an added attraction. Close to golf courses, hiking trails and Chatuge and Nantahala Lake
