This was an oasis of quiet in this busy city. It is a very special caravanserie building which has been restored with such care you feel quite privileged to have been allowed inside! Because natural materials have been used for the building there is a very comfortable atmosphere inside although in the rooms there is seriously high tech air con and fittings.
The location is great for the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations as it is almost next door, just down the hill. We ate in the hotel restuaurant which is in the very odd (but strangely fascinating!!!!) museum, next door, that you access directly from the hotel. The old citadel is just across the street and is interesting to see, even if it is pretty dilapidated.
Staff are very helpful. The hotel doesn't seem to have been discovered yet as it seemed very quiet without many other guests. More than one of our taxi drivers were confused to find there was more than one Divan hotel in Ankara so you need to be careful of that.
