positive:
- great location
- clean room
- free wi-fi
- charming building
- hard to beat at this price range
- friendly staff

negative:
- heating a little noisy
- very hard to find! We asked a trafic controler, and we ended up following him around the city; he was stopping around, asking his way. Took us 40 minutes to find!!! Poor man; I can't believe how helpfull Turkish people are. Amazing.

Ankara is a very busy, noisy town. For this reason, I enjoyed utmost my room in this calm area of the city. A small, relaxing Boutique Hotel. The area of the citadel is just gorgeous - especially in the evening hours, when you feel the centuries of this place much more...
The streets here are still not paved, so do not be surprised upon arrival :-)
Take Metro/Bus to Ulus and then a Taxi. The driver shall call the hotel to get information how to get there. Your hosts speak mainly Turkish.

If you go up to the Citadel (the small path up, next to hotel), stop by in the round tend, whose owner is Nüvet, a brilliant Turkish lady, employing women of the Citadel area, baking gözleme and other things. Support local women´s initiatives :-) !!

My husband and I used to live in Turkey years ago and returned last summer for a visit with friends who had never been to Turkey, so we wanted to stay somewhere with local charm. Everything's gotten much more expensive since we lived there, so we were happy to find this hotel, which is very reasonably priced and exactly what we were looking for. It's located right in the castle in Ulus, which is the main tourist area of Ankara and a great place to stroll around and shop during the day. The hotel itself is a beautifully renovated historic house and the family running it were very friendly and eager to help. It's also located very close to the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, which is small but a great place to spend a couple hours, and a wonderful carpet store, Nomadic Art Gallery, whose owner Suleyman was a delight.

A perfectly tranquil hotel at almost the highest point within the old castle. An almost mediaeval experience. Busy with tourists during the day but very quiet at night with local inhabitants only and a few good restaurants open. Only a few steps from the fascinating Museum of Anatolian civilisation.
Perfect haven away from the busy city. Very reasonable rates.
