My university was and still very nearby to this area and after 38 years I remember the wrecked old houses and muddy roads, now cobbled roads and a facelift of 2-3 short streets, tens of cafes and restaurants and gift shops and nothing else, not of a local or international interest.....

Wasn't as expected. Looked very new as opposed to being restored. Typical shops. They may be in danger of overdoing it as they were building more.

Beautiful place to visit.... Deserves the EU Projet Award they received.
Parks, ancient Seljuk mosques, coffee shops, restaurants.....so much to visit; requires at least half a day.

You must see hamamonu if you visit Ankara. Its a historic place and similar to Beypazari and there are very good restaurants, "Hanzade" is best in my opinion.

Hamamonu has the makings for a great evening locale: plentiful restaurants and cafes, art galleries and handicraft stores, and restored Ottoman style architecture. Strolling the pedestrian areas is pleasant, and I can only imagine how nice it will be in the warmer months. Definitely will return.
