Very impressive and well-preserved amphitheatre. The ruined city of Patara is amazingly atmospheric and worth a diversion from the beach to visit - you've paid, so you might as well.

This is an ancient site on a huge scale. The amphitheatre is awesome and you can sense the excitement and atmosphere of the crowded theatre in ancient times.

The work to create such a structure 200BC mind boggling.

Very hot and open with limited water and refreshment available so be sure to take water and sun screen. Great value and a must do/see if in the area.

It is very huge and attractive. Stay a bit longer and feel the atmosphere. You can see it everywhere while you trek around.

Atmospheric, unspoilt. Nothing negative to say. It is on the way to Patara Beach but would be a sin not to visit. If you are going to go to the beach often or to other sites or museums then you can buy a Museum Card - they will prepare this at the entrance if you have some sort of photo id (they copy the photo onto the card)

This wonderful structure has been beautifully restored with ongoing work on the entire site still being carried out.Time feels still and one can just imagine what the entire place was like in its heyday
