“dreadful holiday”
Reviewed 14 July 2006

I stayed at this hotel from 16 june to 30 june 2006 and found it the worst holiday i have ever taken. there were not any of the facilties as advertised. food was very limited in choice.most of the staff were friendly and helpful but watch out for remsi cergsi, rudest fellow i have yet to meet, needs some people skills..hope new owners get hotel sorted out as previous owners had no interest whatsoever.watch out for mosqitoes even although i used plenty repellant i could not believe bites i and many others received. maybe this had to do with the air conditioning in hotel public rooms not being turned on and open doors being only ventillation. do not expect any entertainment as none available and lobby bar only one open shuts at 11pm. drink is extortionate after this 18ytl(£6) for spirits beer 6.50 ytl.(over £2). disco does not open until 11pm.. i am not a party animal, age 59, but was deeply disappointed as were many other guests.cleaners were very good. receptionist was a lovely young woman and male staff were really nice. commission on exchange rate extortionate ,20%,be warned!!!!!

Patara is a small place, birthplace in the 4th century of St. Nicholas, commonly known today as Sanata Claus. Resort caters for mature couples (such as ourselves), families and all those looking for an unspoiled, quiet resort with an excellent beach. There are no banking facilities in the resort *** Marinem Patara Resort hotel is the best hotel in Patara. It is comfortable and clean. It runs free minibus shuttle service to the village and beach. There is a tennis court which we were the only people using it. However, as we were there outside the main season there were no "Annimations". There was a good choice of meals, buffet style, although in the second week it felt a little predictable. In the hotel they would not change travelers cheques, only cash but you can settle the bill by a credit or debit card. Other than by minibus you can get to the beach on foot through the wood and dunes. There you will find a memorable view of the beach. We found that quite a few British and German couples were in the same hotel several or even many times before.

My boyfriend and I have recently returned from a lovely holiday in Patara. The hotel itself is really nice although I must warn you that the claim of the gym is not entirely true as it consists of one exercise bike and a couple of freeweights.
We went half board and the food was ok, although pretty much the same everyday with only one choice of a meat in the evenings. We felt the hotel catered mainly for continental european visitors however we did enjoy most of the food we were given.
The hotel staff are lovely and the cleaners do a brilliant job. Unfortunately some of the hotel didn't appear to be completed such as the a la carte restaurant. We felt that the hotel could be amazing if they spent the money on it to complete all of the features that the brochure claims it already contains.
The little village of Patara is wonderful, the people are so friendly! I
particually recommend the restaurant 'Bread and water' and 'Sonja's Bar' which
serves AMAZING cocktails. It is definitly not a lively nightlife though but is perfect if you just want a get-away from the hustle and bustle of the modern world.
Patara beach is truely amazing and the marienem beach service is brilliant as the beach is quite a long distance in the high temperatures. You can also use your hotel wrist band to get free sunbeds and umberellas on the beach, which are otherwise expensive.
One last tip would be to always ask the hotel bar for a large beer as they
charge you the same price for a small or a large.
I would recommend Patara, especially for couples as it is secluded away but contains everything that you could possibly need!
