“Do Not Make a Mistake and Stay Here!”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

We stayed at Rosso Verde for 4 nights all inclusive but unfortunately it wasnt all inc. .Firstly , the hotel has its own beach ! Yess, but with about totaly 10-20 loungechair for all the hotel guest :-)
So we had to go everyday to another beach and had our lunch there by paying money.
And The Food and drink was very poor quality, in limited supply and menus .I could only drink water and eat some salad.I think their web page should be : TheBestDiet.com

The room was appalling ,not clean ,they didnt change the towel daily.Floors were filthy and so was bathroom,.we even couldnt use wardrobe cause its cover was broken.hair dryer was not working,You can not call the reception cause the phone at the room was not working etc...It is not a joke !!
The outdoor swimming pools were very small ,look like a Human Soup :-) I didnt use it
However the best thing at this hotel was Mr. Seval ,stuff at lobby bar, deserves a mention as he was so kind, happy and helpful.,not rude like another hotel stuff.
The only good thing to come out of this holiday was the friends i met, maybe thats the reason I could stay there 4 nights:-)
My advice is " pay just a little more and go somewhere else"

Room Tip: Worst hotel I have ever been to

Firstly let me give you the negative points, the pool area is small with a bar providing snacks from a not so clean area with staff that could not handle the pressure. The room we stayed in as a couple was small and in need of re-furbishment, however it was functional with a comfortable bed and wardrobe but the bedroom was very small about 9ft 10 Ft with a toilet / shower area 4ft by about 6ft, swinging a cat rings a bell. It was last year in September we went and after a few days, along with another couple we complained to the staff about the conditions especially the spa where the resident masseuse pushed people into trying it out, I refused to pay until I had sampled the service and thankfully we did not stay in what turned out to be a dirty seedy badly run sauna etc, not for the feint hearted may I saywith many guests complaining to the spa staff who were themselves convinced that they offered value for money. We suggested to the Manager they should be removed and the place including the pool area up graded.
The Manager however did come to speak to us and for about two hours listened to our concern, eloquently put before him be the other couple. The result a promise to upgrade the spa and the bar area including cleanliness. he offered us upgraded room which we refused saying that this was not the reason we told him our concerns it was so the hotel could improve the facilities all round. My credit to the manager and reception staff who were very helpful and concerned.
Would I go back, well not to Gumbet or the 4 star beach down the hill which wouldonly get 4 stars for the rubbish in the water swept in from the sea, I for one would not swim in this again and it was rated a 5 star beach, obviously by people with white sticks.
Gumbet would suit the Benidorm type customer but for the more discerning customer avoid like the plague. I am sure the hotel management would have made the improvements suggested but the staff overall were fantastic, friendly, helpful and willing to help. My scores,
Pool Area 3 Star, Pool bar 2 Star, Local Beach 1 Star, Room at Hotel 2 Star, Food $ Star, Service in Restaurant 4 Star, Overall Service 4 Star, Management 5 Star, Reception 5 Star, Spa NO STAR ( may have been upgraded since September 2012 ). Would we go back,Not to the area but would try the hotel again for a week to check on the upgrades promised.
Finally, give it a try they should be given a chance to improve overall, Overall Current Rating 3 Star. Not for those who have difficulty walking, hotel on a hill but the views are fantastic.

Room Tip: Pay extra and get the premier room overlooking the sea and pool, located above the pool area

I have just returned from a weeks holiday with my partner, our 7 month old baby girl and our 2 friends with their 6 month old baby boy.

We had a brilliant time away! The hotel is lovely - only downfall are the steps to and from the reception to the rooms and pool area!! I wouldn't reccomned this hotel if you have mobility problems! However, we did not struggle as we helped one another with the pram which wasn't a problem.

On arrival, the receptionist greeted us and was happy to help despite us arriving at 11pm. A staff member helped us with our suitcases to our rooms which were quite close to reception.

When we arrived at our rooms, they were quite small but were very clean and tidy! We unpacked straight away and ordered ourselves a kebab as we were starving! Again the staff were very helpful and helped us order the food then delivered it to our rooms! The staff at the hotel didn't speak much English at all but always tried so hard to understand.

In the morning when trying to clean our daughters bottles, I realised my feet were getting wet and we had a leak from our sink/shower. We called reception and straight away the technician arrived who tried to fix it.

Our friend was not given a cot bed so we all went to reception and explained our problem. They moved us all to one of the 3 best rooms in the hotel free of charge! Our room was a suite room which included 2 rooms, a bathroom, a living room and a huge balcony which over looked the pool. The view was incredible!!!!! One of the rooms had 2 single beds, and the other had a queen size bed and a single bed. The living room also had a sofa bed. Both rooms had air con and duvets for the evenings which got abit chilly.

The balcony had 2 chairs, a sofa and 2 sun beds which were perfect for sun bathing on while the babies were asleep.

The pool area was perfect! Lots of sunbeds every day and very clean. The snack bar was open for a few hours and the food was very good!

The restaurant food wasn't the best but was lovely when we did eat there. We prefer eating out so we benefited more from the all inclusive when it came to lunch and drinks.

A lot of reviews mentioned chips being for dinner each night, this is not true! Out of the 7 nights we were there, there were chips once!

Overall we had a fantastic holiday and we would happily go back to this hotel! The staff were so friendly and loved our children! They were more than happy to walk around with the push chairs to get the babies to sleep while we ate!

I reccomned this hotel!!! Great stay!!

My husband and I have just returned from a week staying at this hotel. Staff were great, rooms very clean, sheets and towels changed regularly. Food was enjoyable. Not recommended for people with mobility issues though. And "beach" is man made. Overall very enjoyable

Okay so here's what everyone always says about hotels in Turkey - they aren't based on the same star rating that we have in the UK/US! Seriously, stop complaining about it.

I've visited Turkey a good few times and this is one of the nicer hotels I've been to.

The good points; it's clean, bed was comfortable, we had an amazing view from our room balcony, the pool area was quiet, lots of sunloungers, free wifi in lobby, gorgeous views. Someone took our bags to our room - this is a hard task given the long walk to the rooms from reception. Free bus to nearby beach.

The bad points: No wifi in rooms, it's NOT a beachfront hotel, LONG walk to town, location is far out, the stairs from the rooms to the reception are horrendous! Our shower was leaky and made a big mess in the bathroom - not the safest.

Everything else: The food was okay. It wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible. The desserts were pretty terrible but everything else was fine. Lots of salad, vegetables, always some meat dishes. They would cook kebabs and chicken some nights outside too. There are cats, like in a lot of foreign countries, so if this bothers you you should consider it. The staff were mostly really helpful and nice. We didn't drink a lot, despite being all inclusive, but if you are a heavy drinker then you probably won't appreciate their spirits/wine/beer selection although for us it was great.

We had a great time, we really loved lounging by the pool, the views were incredible as you can see from my pics. If you want a relaxing holiday and don't want to pay a high price then it's perfect for you. We went to the beach, into the town and parasailing, but other than that we did NOTHING, which is exactly what we wanted :)

Room Tip: If you want to be close to the pool, get a room in the 600s

I stayed at the Rosso Verde, Oct 2012 - it is definitely not a 4 star hotel and would be best compared to an almost 2 star hotel in the UK. It isn't over expensive, so you do get what you pay for and this hotel is best used as a base...just sleep here and have a few drinks before you go out and eat somewhere else every night.

The food is awful, I'm used to limited choices as a vegetarian anyway, but they just put out the same crap night after night after night. Salad, chips, salad, chips and a bit of watery tomato soup.

Beach - What beach! Better of taking the free shuttle to Bitez instead.

The staff however are very friendly and helpful, it's not their fault where they work. The only gripe you will have is that whoever is running the Spa section will hound and harrass you for massages. Just be blunt and/or get up and walk away, never buy your treatments at the hotel as there are plenty of local places in the town centre or Bodrum that do it much cheaper. This also applies to excursions, visit an excursion travel shop in the Gumbet town centre and totally just ignore your travel rep when he visits you.

I had a great week away and met some great people, but if you're looking for good food, a good beach, and somewhere spotless this is not it... better off travelling out of the hotel to eat somewhere else, and use your all inclusive drinks package to get merry before going clubbing.

Sadly expect a cold night as there are no blankets or quilts to sleep on, just what looks like a thin dogs throw to put over yourself at night. I would go back to the same area again, but not this hotel again - the rooms are very dusty and hardly ever cleaned. My bedding wasn't changed once, and made me even wonder if it had been changed at all from the last occupant.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Rosso Verde. It was barely a 2* let alone a 4*! The main entrance/lobby of the hotel is very modern and the wifi was really fast. This is where my praise for the hotel ends. We were given clean sheets once in the week, no toilet rolls were provided, despite asking several times. The hotel is set in the mountain, meaning the reception is a 5 minute hike from the rooms/pool/restaurant. The entertainment was non-existant, we were told it was because it was the end of the season. There was also no music or childrens activities for the same reason. The food was basic and pretty much the same every day. If you like chips and salad you will be fine. This is supposidly a beach front hotel, after another hike down the mountain you will be very disappointed by what you find. Our room (601) barely had enough room for the 2 of us, let alone our suitcases and tolietries! There was no sound proofing at all, so all week we were kept awake by the people upstairs, music out side the hotel and general noise from other guests as our room was in a walk way to the bar/restaurant. The pool area was small, but as the hotel wasnt busy this wasnt too much of a problem. The pool was very deep tho, so if you cant swim/ just want to paddle you will have to stay in the kids pool! There is an on-site Turkish bath. DO NOT let him bully you into booking something as soon as you arrive. His prices are over-inflated and he can be quite intimidating. The staff at the hotel were pleasant enough, some speaking better English than others. All inclusive - drinks - if you like vodka and gin you will be fine. A trip to Bitez beach is recommended and the Turkitrez market was a good morning out.
