“I lived here in 2009 May- September”
Reviewed 3 August 2012

I lived here in 2009 for four months and worked in the management office for one of that. I have never seen such a bunch of cowboys. There was no organisation in the office, random people been given keys to properties, my boyfriend was showering one day and someone let themselves into the apartment...they certainly got a few choice swear words when he got out. We were stuck in the middle of nowehere, the dolmus wasnt regular, its all hiss, the restaurant on site was expensive and so was the shop; we dined at Sunset Cafe alot, bit of a walk but worth it for the pide and lahmacun. For a long term rental it was really cheap but the paint work of the apartment is a bit shoddy. Im hoping things have improved since i was last there as this could be a perfect spot. My boyfriend tried to open jet skis and boat trips from the man made beach but the lifts never worked so he had no customers lol

Room Tip: Try to stay close to the main square unless you like mountaineering

Turquoise is probably the best option of all the resorts in the area if you are considering a long term holiday rental of 1 to 3 months especially if your stay is early or late in the season. The facilities here are open for more of the year, are well run and managed as you point out, and because many owners tend to visit out of peak season, it always has a nice village feel. Having said this, there are probably better options for a 6 month or more stay, for example Gulluk, especially if you are working as some consider it a little too isolated for long residential usage. It sounds like you chose it because you worked on site and didn't have your own transport so it worked for you.

We have just got back from our stay at Turquoise. We first stayed at Turquoise in 2009 and was really surprised to see how much the site has changed since then. The location has always been lovely but there is much more to do now. The restaurant and bar area have been improved. There is a beautiful spa and infinity pool. A lovely beach, evening entertainment and free transport running to and from the beach. There is now a big supermarket just opposite the main entrance which was great as we were self catering.

We stayed in a lovely apartment in the Amber section. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed and splendid views of the sea. The apartment had a key box mounted outside the front door so we could store the key when we went out. We had a lovely surprise when we visited another beach in the local area which I think was called my beach. We got a taxi from opposite the entrance, it took us less than 5 minutes to get there. It is a sandy beach and the sea was clear and warm. It is a lovely setting and had a restaurant and snack bar and our taxi back was free of charge

We ate at the resort restaurants and food was very good and very reasonable. The view from the restaurant overlooking the sea was beautiful. We had some lovely evenings in Bodrum, it is a truly a wonderful town, and beautiful during the day and at night.
I would recommend the turquoise resort and Bodrum town to anyone.

My partner & i have just come back from a wonderful 2 weeks at this holiday complex, we stayed at Ruby 16, the apartment was very comfortable furnitured to a very high standard was very clean, air conditioning was was great as it was very hot it also had dishwasher, washing machine, micrwave. It was a lovely relaxing place to stay, loved the restaurant food, the steaks are unbeatable, the staff was so nice & helpful, we did hav a few steps to climb to get to the main pool, but it didn't bother us, as we have a smaller pool just outside the apartment. i would recommend this complex to anyone.

Been to this resort several times and always found it to be a lovely relaxing place to spend our holiday.
In the hot Turkish summers it has a nice cooling breeze, in contrast Bodrum (which is around 25 mins away) can get uncomfortably hot in the height of summer. Would advise searching for direct property rentals from owners. Has a fantastic golf course nearby ( Vita Park ) and several quaint fishing villages dotted around the area. only fifteen minutes from Bodrum Milas airport too!! Highly recommended!!

Room Tip: Five bedroom villas are fantastic ,you even have your own private swimming pool!!

We stayed here in summer 2011 and have to say we had a truly fantastic time, as did pretty much everybody we met. The complex was fantastic, everything you need and the apartment was superb, also it had everything you need.

We've stayed in many apartments in many different places but this one was the best we've ever stayed in by a distance, it had everything. Loads of kitchen equipment, bedding, towels, flatscreen TV, DVD, ipod docking station, kids games, BBQ, sun loungers, patio furniture, the list is endless. In fact we could not think of anything it didn't have. All of the houses have air conditioning too, which is a real help.

The complex was brilliant too, 8 swimming pools would you believe, all free to use. We were able to get a sun lounger at any one of the pools, the main pool had lots of them and you didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn either. Security is good, they check your taxi when you come in, our driver had to explain where we were staying. Don't get the airport taxis, they are expensive, you can book an airport transfer before you go, there's lots of choices on the internet.

There is an indoor pool for the cooler months and a gym, the gym equipment was needing an update, the owners and management were saying that there were plans to address that for 2012.

The best thing about the complex was the restaurant, absolutely first class and a lot of people said it was by far the best in the area, couldn't agree more.

There were a few problems for some people when we were there. They had booked through travel agents on either full board or all inclusive. The adjacent site (Flamingo) had taken a lot of all inclusive bookings and couldn't cope, there were big problems on that site with the restaurant but apparently they've now stopped the all inclusive bookings so it should be fine for next year. The vast majority of people we met at Turquoise were either owners or people renting from friends/family etc. so they were self catering like us. The menu at the Turquoise restaurant was varied and loads of choice, very reasonable price too. I had to laugh at the comments about the owner and the food, just not true at all, we had loads of great meals and did not see or hear of any complaints at all. I suppose you're always going to get one or two that don't like something.

The complex is built on a hill but it didn't affect us at all because the Beryl apartments are on the same level as the main pool/restaurant/bar/shop/office/gym etc. so no walking up hills for us. Our apartment was also close to the security gate too so really handy for getting out of the complex.

Loads to do around and about too - beach club, My Beach (beautiful), Royal Heights spa and infinity pool (breathtaking), Sunset Bar/restaurant (spectacular views), Ocean View bar/cafe (cheapest and friendly too), Royal Heights restaurant (good and great views too).

You can also get a minibus (Dolmus) into Bodrum really easily, bus stop just outside complex. Some great villages around too for days/meals out, there's even one or two who pick you up and bring you back free of charge, brilliant!

All staff on site were really friendly, especially bar/restaurant staff, couldn't do enough for us, they adore kids, we've got two, they loved it, plenty for them to do, other kids to make friends with, fussed over by the staff, perfect for us because we could relax knowing they were enjoying themselves.

Would we go back? Too right we will, in fact we are booking for next summer, can't wait. Next year we may try hiring a car, not absolutely essential but it will allow us to explore a bit more. The onsite travel agent does offer a lot of reasonable priced trips too though. Car hire is good price so we may go for it for a week out of the two.

Only downside I can think of is the supermarket on site is not well stocked but does have essentials. That said there's a bigger supermarket just outside complex at complex (5 mins walk) and also bigger one again at Bogaziki, nearest village, can get there on minibus easily enough, good spot for lunch too!

It was red hot in August but there's always a lovely breeze to keep you cooled down so is absolutely fine. Take lots of suntan lotion though as it's expensive out there.

We would recommend this place, the site opened in 2009 so it still is growing and developing but is all finished.

Room Tip: The Beryl apartments are the most accessible for the main facilities. If you prefer a view the Cora...

We stayed at Ruby 24 on the Turquoise homes Resort for 2 weeks in Sept 2011.
After booking and paying we were given a code to the key deposit on the outside of the appartment (so no messing about at receptions for keys or deposits or passports). The appartment was spotless in all ways, and felt more like a home that a holiday rental, the furnishings were of excellent quality and bonus point was a washing machine and dishwasher.
The living room had SAT tv with dvd played that plays all formats of films( very handy if you have young children like us).
The main bedroom had ample storage space with loads of extra towels and bedding, but the best thing about this room was the view!!!! just open the curtains every morning to watch a glorious sunrise over lake Tuzla and the hills.
It also had a very handy balcony and roof terrace with sunbeds and parasol.
The complex itself had everything you need, from a small market to crazy golf and numerous swimming pools from 2 min - 5 min from the appartment(all with free sunbeds and no crazy germans at 5 am in the morning putting towels down). you can see 2 of the pools from the appartment.
The Turquoise pool bar does every kind of food and we never had a bad meal and it was sooo cheep. 4 drinks 1 starter and 2 mains for £22. The staff are just kid crazy, our son (15 month old) had all the attention he could wish.
just outside the entrance, at the bottom of the hill is a place called MY BEACH, this was just heaven, grassed areas with your own private grassed cabanna with bean bags and double beds, all for free, the food here was also good.
All in all we had a fantastic holiday and would recommend Ruby 24 to anyone!
great communication from the owners and all questions were answered promptly.
we booked through www.turkish-sun.co.uk . hope you have a god as time as us.

Room Tip: we booked through www.turkish-sun.co.uk for ruby 24 appartment.

We stayed at an apartment on Turquoise in Septemeber 2011. The apartment was nice - clean and modern, in the Amber area. However in order to get just to the first level we had to climb over 80 steps. The shuttle bus never seemed to be working, the only time we used it was when it was called to pick us up when the monorail wasn't working, which as stated in the other reviews was most of the time.

I'm not sure where the bus could have picked us up as nothing was made particularly clear to us.

The restaurant by the pool was great, nice food and good value for money, but I would have preferred not to eat out as much as we had booked a self catering apartment but the "supermarkets" were so basic it was impossible to cook ourselves.

If everything advertised was working - i.e. shuttle bus, monorail etc this resort coupled with the Royal Heights complex would be fine. They have let themselves down and as previously stated the staff are not the most helpful souls.

We didn't want to do much as so had a lovely time but did try the horrendous bus into Bodrum which was an "experience".

It was fine for us but I would think twice before recommending it.
