We enjoyed the historical aspects of Myndos gate but disappointed at the lack of cleanliness at such an ancient monument

“Not too exciting”
Reviewed 25 September 2013

We walked to this site from the port, which took about 1/2 hour. When you consider the history, it is an interesting site, although there isn't a lot to see. In fact, in the middle of the day, we were the only people there

“Myndos Gate - Lost Jewel”
Reviewed 11 September 2013

This archaelogical site was part of the L'Ambiance Hotel complex which is a disaster for it, as it was strewn with rubbish etc. However it was very interesting and has links to King Mausilos and the Ancient Wonder of the Mauseleum at Halikarnassos - worth a look if you a history buff. The Mauseleum doesnt exist anymore, so this site is a real find and a very important piece of history.

“Just OK.”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

Not much to see here except the gate itself. Some work is still being done in the area and so it is not quite finished but it does look lovely and you can get some nice photos here.

“history vs civilization”
Reviewed 15 August 2013

completely renovated remains of something that once used to be a gate to the city. restauration process sometimes really takes its toll. unfortunately. but, have to admit, the view from the gate is nice and everything around it is very clean and well maintained.
