this hotel name change to royal arena,i have been there during june.the weather was perfect .althought this is 5 star hotel but service is like 3 stars.
very close to gumbet center ,step out from the hotel 10 minutes walk to gumbet or with dolmus(local bus)which is stop in front of hotel.
reception staff can speak english ,they are very helpful.room clean every two days if lucky enough, there were not toothbrush ,cup , kettle in the room.even when room was clean they do not put shampoo ,conditioner and soap.room service could not speak english at all.food variety was great but it was not testy at all.entertainment staff speacially guy called ziggy was so active and did his best to provide good time for every body.swimming pool is not so big but enough ,swimming pool towels were so smelly it likes they were not washed at all.

We had a fantastic time here the staff are so friendly and helpful, our rooms were very clean the food was varied and always very well presented and plenty of choice something for everyone.
My husband and i took my two teenage sons, although the area and hotel are quiet they still went clubing after the hotels entertainment had finished. We did see some bad reviews when we booked and did feel a bit worried if we had made the right decision, when we arrived the service was second to none and we were glad we ignored the negative reports
I would recommend this hotel to anyone and we wlll be returning

Room Tip: we were on the 1st floor large double room my sons were on the ground floor large twin room, they did...

We stayed at the Blue Moon hotel last year June for 4 nights and I thought it was only right to write a review as we just got back from staying at a hotel in Egypt where we continually compared it to Blue Moon. We had a lovely stay at Blue Moon and found the staff friendly, polite and willing to help you with any request. The staff really do make the holiday an unforgettable experience. At reception they allowed me to use their phone to contact the UK at no extra charge.

Before travelling I emailed the Guest Relations person Yonca requesting a Sea View room. The rooms were very nice where we had a side sea view room which was clean, airy so we were more than happy.

The highlight for us was dinner time when the barbeque came out where we got to enjoy our meals overlooking the beautiful sea view. You do have to be quick and go early to reserve a table outside as people flock to get the best seats during this time. Breakfast wasn't that great for us but this wasn't such a big deal as we were stuffed from the evening dinners.

There isn't much in terms of evening entertainment so you do need to venture out.

For the price we paid we really couldn't complain.
Thanks Blue Moon

I stayed at the Blue Moon towards the end of Sept 11 - Oct 11, end of season . The hotel is situated on a hill away from the main centre of Gumbet (bout 3/4 mile), no probs there as you can get the dolmus (bus) into gumbet and Bodrum from outside the hotel. The view onto Gumbet bay is beautiful, I sugest that when checking in ask for a sea view and tip.The hotel is clean and the amenities are good. You have to pay extra for the gym and sauna etc. The staff are friendly and helpful and some speak english but not all but what do yo expect your in Turkey. Tariq one of the Managers is a nice guy as are some of the waiters and waitresses. The food is a little repetetive with not a great choice but it is mostly cooked well. great choice of salads! We had entertainment one night which was cool, but if your looking for entertainment from the hotel every night then you will be dissapointed. All inclusive stops at 11pm! When at the hotel pool bar be prepared for the repetative music which at times can be too loud and inappropriate! I enjoy house music loud but in the appropriate environment not when your just chilling out! If you want to book any excursions it is best to book in Gumbet through many of the opperaters.

decided to book this hotel as a last minute holiday and when we arrived we weren't disappointed!!! even though it was 4am before we arrived the reception staff were friendly and gave us a filled roll when we got there which was very much needed!!! a porter took our bags and showed us to the room and how to work the air conditioning etc and tried to chat as best he could. never had a problem getting a sun longer though it was harder to get a parasol. the hotel is very very clean and the room was cleaned and fresh towels everyday, theres a shop, hairdressers, dentist, doctors, gym, barbers in the hotel but being honest we never saw anyone in anything but the shop. the biggest problem we found is nearly all of the staff don't speak english which can be a real problem if your trying to ask something and the barmen we felt were very rude as nearly everytime i went to the bar i was just left standing there even if they weren't doing anything and yet if someone else came along (normally a man) they would serve him then decide to serve me which is really annoying. there were only 2 other english speaking couples there while we were there, the rest were a mixture of turkish, german and french so there wasnt really the opportunity to speak to anyone else and they all seemed to get served before us!!! the food was ok, been all inclusive before and you sort of know what to expect food wise, the soup was fantastic everyday!!! the bread very fresh, most of the food was ok but nothing exciting and the snack bar didnt offer much except from pizza, chips and sometimes one other thing but you make do. we also found you had to be down for dinner before 7.30pm to ensure you could get a table some nights otherwise the waiters just start seating people together and thats not much fun when no one else speaks english and they get put at a table with you, when left that night to eat in town as we really didnt want to eat with strangers. theres lots of restaurants in the town if you fancy eating out, the divers was a really good place and quite highly rated on trip advisor. the biggest downside to this hotel is there is nothing to do!!!!!! having been to turkey a few times the other hotels we've stayed at have provided an animation team during the day and entertainment at night but there was nothing during the day and only entertainment one night which meant we went into town everynight which means you spend more money!!! it could make the day very long as its great lying by the pool but some entertainment would have passed the time. that is probably the biggest downside to staying here, the town is only 5-10 mins away on the dolmus which stopped outside the hotel about every 15 mins and isn't expensive at all. can highly recommend 'smileys' bar if you want some fun!!! we ended up there every night and the staff are fantastic and welcoming which is what we needed after being ignored every single day! the views from the hotel are stunning and with being higher up you always felt like you were baking in the sun. although the hotel was nice and clean i wouldn't go back unless they got some entertainment and nicer staff to be honest, if your not planning on spending much time at the hotel then it would be a great place to stay but we spent far more money than we intended with having to go out every night to find something to do. and also you have to like VERY VERY VERY loud music during the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the bar staff seemed to have 1 cd which they played everyday over and over and over and boy did they play it loud! me and my husband were screaming at one another to try and talk and still couldnt hear each other over it! and the music wasnt that good at all! i love the town of gumbet and will go back there time and again but i think unless things change here then i wouldnt go back to stay but its not an awful hotel, i just dont like to be ignored!

Room Tip: give them £10 when you arrive and ask for a room with a view

Me and my friends stayed at this hotel in August 2011. The hotel is well positioned away from the noise of Gumbet with a breathtaking view on the bays. Rooms and balconies are quite small, but clean and well equipped. The pool is also quite small but plenty of sunbeds. Services are not their strong point: the food is not very diversified, and drinks are pretty bad. Overall the hotel is ok.

We stayed at this hotel august 2011, and overall the stay waa quite pleasant. The rooms were clean, food was good especially when chefs set up stands outside for dinner that was good. The view from the main pool area was awesome, breathtaking. The reception was very helpful especially yasemen and emre, very delightful people. One night we woke up to very loud sounds coming from next door, and as soon as we called reception they were at their door immediately to stop the noise which was very good of the hotel. It was half hr bus trip to bodrum central and the bus picked us up from in front of hotel which was also convenient.
