Ok visit during your Bodrum stay. Nothing special if you have visited other ones in the past. If you have more time take a drive to Efes instead, which is really great.

“Nice but not essential to visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2014

If your in turkey likelihood is your going to see some great amphitheatres..... Ephesus, pamukkale etc.... This one was a bit run down. There was construction fencing around it but nothing going on. There was a pay booth there but no one present. It's a decent walk from the harbour up to the amphitheatre so you need to have a medium level of fitness and not mind some very steep roads. We did it as part of a general walk about the city so made a nice attraction along the way. Not essential

“Amazing Ancient Amphitheater”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014

The Bodrum Amphtheater was on our way to Ephesus, Selcuk, İzmir. It does not take a long time to see it. You will get the experience of acoustics of the theatre. If you have not any chance to see one like that in your like please do it.

Amazing place, so much to see, can steep yourself in the history of this place without even realising it! Loads of kids when we visited but all seemed happy to be there

“Bodrum Amphitheatre - almost missed.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

The amphitheatre at Bodrum is a good example of a Greek/Roman theatre. Originally built in the 4th Century BY and then updated by the Romans in the 2nd Century AD it is still in use today. The biggest problem for the casual visitor is that it is right on the main road from Gumtree to Bodrum, so in a stream of traffic in your taxi or Dolmus you are past it before you realise its there. However, if you manage to stop in time, its well worth the visit.
