If this is the number one attraction in Bodrum i'm glad i didn't go elsewhere. Its not bad but its no 5 star. Positives, location and views are great. castle looks magnificant from outside. Contents leave a lot to be desired. Favourite moment was walking into the castle chapel excepting to see some ancient place of workshop. Only someone decided to erect a massive cross-section of a ship in it instead. Also shame you can't seem to get to the highest tower. View would be sensational.

“Impressive”
Reviewed 30 April 2012

This was very impressive and such a contrast to the cheap tackiness of Gumbet! The bus to Bodrun was very cheap too - don't be tempted by organised excursions to Bodrun as it is very easy to get to.

“Don't waste your time.............”
Reviewed 30 April 2012

Went here after reading some of the reviews and what a disappointment knowing that I can not recover my time which was lost spent here!!!
Nothing of real value to see but the view and that came at a steep price.

Seen a lot of castles in my time, but the location and fortifications on this baby are second to none
