The history of this castle and views make it worth while. The admission is quite cheap but there are a lot of steep steps- take your walking boots, a hat and a bottle of water

“Medieval Castle”

amazing history from the Crusades. Loved the English tower. Too bad the other towers weren't open to explore but still a fascinating place. Gorgeous views

“Midday madness!”
Reviewed 31 July 2012

This is located by the docks opens at 830am and closes at 630pm costs only 20L. Go either EARLY morning or LATE evening or you will be way too hot! It looks small from the outside but its quite big once you are inside.

Bring a large bottle of drink with you and a camera! The castle have artifacts from shipwrecks from the surrounding area and please don't think that you will go underwater because it saids underwater archeology. It's a museum and this was another informative museum make sure you stop by the courtyard and read the info on the walls about the animals its interesting.

There are steep steps in there going up and down, there are plenty of places to sit and staff in every part of the castle should you need assistance. Worth a visit!

“Well kept Castle”
Reviewed 30 July 2012

This medieval castle is the gem of Bodrum, standing at the entrance of the port. The entrance fee is 20tl (the only accept turkish lira for the castle), but you can exchange money everywhere.
The castle is well kept and museums and other monuments can be seen.
If you visit Bodrum, you definitely have to visit the castle.
