“Overall good experience but shame about the rooms”
Reviewed 1 July 2013 via mobile

The hotel is in a small side street which was hard to find initially but once you've been there once theres no problem. Friendly staff that do what they can to help and small but clean pool and pool area. The thing that let's them down is the rooms which need an overhaul including new shower facilities as the water just flows all over the bathroom as there is no cubicle of any sort. The bathroom window would not shut and when I opened the bathroom door in the the morning I got a large smell of damp. For the price I paid and as just a bed for one night ir was ok but I could not stay for more than that.

Very small room and the smallest, dingiest bathroom I've ever seen. Beds hard and pillows even harder, music and people talking around pool till early hours of morning. Had to leave window open as no air conditioner but people sat and smoked directly under window at all hours of night, seems like no one sleeps here!

My partner and I stayed in Kavala hotel last week and i must say that my first impressions were not the best...! The place is very dated, the room and especially the bathroom are very small and the shower is nearly above the toilet and the whole bathroom get flooded after each shower ... BUT... the staff were fantastic, the Turkish breakfast were soooooooooo good and the location was great!
You are tucked away in a little lane, making the place nice and quiet to relax but you are also only 5 minutes walk from the centre and beach and the noise and activity when you want some more action!
All in all it is a cheap hotel which is why you should not expect a luxury palace but it is clean and the staff are all very polite and helpful and the location is very central.
We are thinking of coming back to Bodrum at the end of the season and I will not hesitate to come back to Kavala as it is a bargain hotel and will leave us more money to spend on handbags!

Room Tip: we have been told that the "basements rooms" are the biggest ones so it is worth asking fo...

Nice little hotel tucked away up a lane, not too far from the town centre and bus station. The room was quite small and basic, but clean. There was a kettle and mugs so we could make a cup of coffee, and a bar by the small pool where you could get something to eat. The staff were friendly and helpful. We've stayed in budget hotels all over Turkey, and this has to be one of the better ones.

the description in the brochure is quitet misleading. We were lead to believe that there would be basic cooking facilities. We arrived to a kettle , 2cups & saucers,1 plate/spoon & knife.
In fairness when this was mentioned to the staff, we were offered an alternative room however as we had unpacked -we declined..The studios were.as stated "compact" however very clean. The linen was changed every day. The staff were pleasant ,the breakfast (we were b&b) typically Turkish, but uite acceptable.A little more attention could be paid to the internal repairs to the studios i.e hinges refitted on doors/switches repaired. Fortunately these did not detract too much from an enjoyable holiday.A bonus was the decent swimming pool/poolside bar. We knew this was an "economy booking" and we did get what we paid for

Room Tip: Check your room before you unpack, notify reception immediately of any problems

I have stayed in very different hotels from hostels to five star hotels in my life and Kavala was one of the best value for money hotel I have ever been. First of all, it is a two star hotel and do not have a claim to be a three star one. Both in its website and in its entrance it is clearly stated that it is a two star hotel. The staff was very helpful. The cook was particularly amazing. I was expecting an average dinner but surprised with delicious food. The pool area is quite good and very clean. I usually do not use pools especially in low-price facilities but we felt very comfortable with Kavala's pool. We enjoyed staying at the hotel.

The weakest part of the hotel is the rooms are small and the furniture is quite old. If you are going to spend a lot of time in the room, it might be a problem. We had a great balcony with a nice sea view, which compansated for small size of the room. The room was old but well cleaned. Since a small room and old furnitures were not a trouble for us, and considering the price, we were more than satisfied with Kavala Hotel. I definitely recommend it. Kavala would outcompete many four/five star hotels.
