“Good Hotel With Friendly Staff”
Reviewed 4 August 2011

Room: Very spacious accommodation in the club room ; two inter-connecting rooms , one with a king sized bed and the other with two single beds and a lounge. we fond that there wasn't much space for storage of clothes including hanging space. The room with the king sized bed had an air conditioner which only cooled down that room and not the other which meant that the children couldn't sleep on the first night but eventually got used to it. We did consider an upgrade into the main building. Kept very clean and towels got changed every day.

Food: There were 3 a la carte restaurants in the hotel. you could go to each restaurant twice in your stay if your stay is for two weeks and we chose to do so. The 3 restaurants were International (we found this the nicest), Italian and Turkish kebab. The day you want to go you have to queue up in the morning to book your table. The food in the main restaurant was disappointing apart from the freshly cooked food outside. My son and wife both struggled with tummy trubble and we think it's either from the heat or the salad being washed in tap water which you shouldn't drink. Breakfast was nice but at lunch we ended up having burger and chips every day from the pool bar as it was such a long walk from the aqua park. There was no choice, it would've been better to have more options available at the pool bars. Charlie comes round from the hong kong restaurant in Bodrum each day and persuades you to go to his restaurant , if you fancy a change i would recommend a trip there as we really enjoyed it. He also gives you a free taxi there and back.

Location: As everybody keeps mentioning the views were stunning. From previous reports we expected there to be steps everywhere as this was not the case. There are slopes and was tiring in the heat unless you are extremely unfit it doesn't cause a problem.

Entertainment Team: The entertainment team always tried their best and did a great job. A special thanks to Okan (Oki Doki) and Speedy, they were great! The evening entertainment at night was confined to the ampitheatre some shows were bad for example: The comedy sketch show and snow white. The audience were mainly east European so had to keep translating. The shows we enjoyed were Mr Bodrum and Miss Bodrum and the samba show. Could've done with more proffesional acts coming in.

Facilities: There were three pools but we mainly stopped at the aqua pool. There was 4 slides; a green, blue, white and yellow. The sunbeds were comfy and we found that they went very quickly but in the aqua park there seemed to be more availability and that was were most of the English gathered. We didn't have to go down at stupid o'clock to reserve a bed! I played football a few times with my son which was good for a kick about. We also played table-tennis a few times.

Service: The staff were friendly and helpful especially at the aqua park bar and in the lobby. Another special mention is to Kadir from guest relations who did a great job.

There is an onsite photographic team. We had a family photo shoo, the pictures are gorgeous and well worth the £175 pounds we payed for.

Overall we really enjoyed the holiday and had a great time,
Thank you Bodrum Holiday Resort and Spa!!!

My friend and I travelled to Turkey for the first time for a week and decided to stay in the Bodrum Holiday resort and Spa.
On arrival the concierge staffs were attentive; they acknowledged us immediately in a friendly and courteous manner and assisted with our suitcases. That was a great first impression from the start and pretty much followed for the rest of our stay.
The then discovered the nightly hotel entertainment provided and agreed to attend. The level of service from the Food and Beverage team was outstanding not to mention the friendliness and professionalism of the animation team. Oki was exceptionally brilliant in his display of talents and very welcoming. The entertainment Manager Caner Dizer made our time in Turkey more than exceptional.
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner was 5*. All the services and facilities were 5*.
All staff including the beach boys especially Apel worked beyond their call of service.
As a previous Front Office Manager for 10 years from a Hospitality background I was expecting to highlight discrepancies in both services and facilities and on this occasion I am delighted to say that Bodrum Holiday Resort and Spa is the best Hotel experience I have had. I will be returning in May and would highly recommend this Hotel to anyone who wants to experience a 5* service, facilities and product in an exceptional location.

Probably the best family holiday we've had. Wasnt sure what to expect with the mixed reviews, but honestly if you have a problem with this hotel try Butlins. The hotel itself is situated in a hillside which is stated in the brochure so it is a bit hilly but that is the only downside. All the staff work incredibly hard and are very friendly. The family rooms are huge. We had a fantastic room with 2 seperate rooms with 2 balconies and beautiful views of the sea. Food was fantastic and available 24 hours. There was so much selection with everybody catered for. People moaning about it being repetative is unfounded as we found something different every night. My advise would be not to try and eat everything as soon as you arrive. There was fresh salad every day, kids section, dietary section, hot selection, fresh fruit and scrummy puddings. Outside the restaurant they cooked selections as you waited so you had to queue but it wasnt a problem for most. If you go out and about in Bodrum take English money as the Turkish prefer it to the Lira. We made the mistake of taking all Lira when there really wasnt any need to (big tip). Buses run regularly from outside the hotel into Bodrum and are easy costing about £1 per person. There is no need to take any towels with you as fresh towels are supplied every day and you can get clean beach towels daily from the Spa which was a nice touch. If you want to get a sunbed you really must take your towels down to reserve. But the good thing about this hotel is the pools do not open until 8am and the pool staff will not let you put your towels out until that time. If you try they will remove them. Makes it fair for everyone. The Aquapool is where the majority of the English hang out and we made many friends. All in all a fantastic holiday. We traveled as a family with 3 children 14 and 8 years and they all had a wonderful time. We even had tears as they cuddled the staff goodbye. Special thanks to Cumali (Lifeguard) and Oki and Roman (Entertainment staff) for making our holiday special

Room Tip: The family rooms are by far the largest and comfortablist in the hotel

This is by far, one of the best hotels I have visited in the past 5 years. Why? Not only is it the best value for money, since everyone in the hotel has an all inclusive offer on all foods and alcohol in the hotel, but also the hotel has tried every possible way, and achieved it, in entertaining you. It has everything! you name it; good food, good beer, great staff, pool entertainment (including water polo and water volley ball), Water Aerobics, volley ball court, pool tables, tennis table, open air disco, amphitheater. and more. This is the perfect place to be with your family.

I went along with three friends, and upon arriving they upgraded our room to a two room suite attached to each other. The rooms where very clean, the bathroom spacious. They provide towels for the guests, and a cute gift voucher of a free massage or facial.

The beach doesn't have sand, its wood decking on the sea, where they have sun beds on the sea directly, a great way to spend a day tanning. And much cleaner than sand beaches. The pool is pretty big, with a bar right on it, where you can order your free beer of course.

The restaurant is huge, and directly sea view, which becomes brilliant at sunset. The food variety is good too, each day there was different main dishes, plus a night of choosing whatever restaurant of the three available at the hotel to dine at for free. We had the Turkish cuisine. I don't advice it.

The hotel has all water sport facilities possible available, including diving.
The diving there is not as scenic as the red sea for example. But at least the visibility is amazing! I do recommend it.

There is a bus that takes you from the hotel to the city for about 3 liras, which comes every 5 - 10 minutes, then its a short walk to the bar street and the st. peters cathedral. St. Peters cathedral is over rated btw, and if you go, YOU MUST VISIT THE DUNGEON!

The only cons i found: The people reserve the beach and pool beds too early in the morning, its hard to find vacant ones after 8.30, and you would spend the rest of the day sitting on the grass area.

The walking distances are too much, and too many stairs, but you get used to it after wards, and its a good way to burn all the food and beer your consuming.

You can only exchange the beach towels daily from 10 - 12 which doesnt make any sense.,

The pros: Hotel staff speak good English, which is heaven when it comes to Turks, they don't know how to speak it.

I barely paid anything because of the all inclusive food offer.

We stayed here for 10 days and all 4 of us had a great time. The place is quite hilly but has some stunning views. Food was pretty good and catered for most tastes, the kebab restaurant was excellent. The animation team all made us feel very welcome especially Okan, Ali, Charlie, Messut and Katie. All staff we met were very polite and friendly. It was very good value for money. Would gladly go back to have another holiday here.

Due to the terrible weather in Bodrum last march, our stay in this hotel was not as nice as the other guests have previously explained. Well, if you are planning to visit this hotel before the 'official' summer season begins (in the beginnig of may), beware of the 'all inclusive' label with your travel agency, since this hotel only operates as 'half pension' and if you feel like visiting the turkish bath and the sauna you will be requested to pay around 10€ each. If you want to have any drink outside the restaurant or to drink wine during the meals, you will be charged as well. Other cons: the carpets were waaay dirty and old, so the wallpapers. I think they were refurbishing but I'm not sure about it. The room was comfy and clean but I would definetely not return here.
