“Ersan Wedding”
Reviewed 20 June 2013

I recently stayed at the ersan along with family to get married. The standard rooms were sufficient for 3 people to stay in and cleaned daily, the only thing is if you like to sit on the balcony at night then there is only room for 1 person. We had a fantastic houskeeper called Ismet - even though he didnt speak english he always took time to play with my son. Also you dont get tea/coffee in your room but these are available at reception and you can take to your room. The food at the hotel was amazing (especially the desserts) and the main restaurant food was better than the a la carte food (drinks are charged in the a la carte and can be pricey). The water park was great for the kids (and the big kids) - the only thing is the stairs going up to the chutes is made of wood and you can get a lot of splinters in your feet, so best to get water shoes. The animation team are very friendly and great with the kids, although i think the evening entertainment could be improved, and the shows were done in english & french. My wedding day was also fantastic at the hotel, they couldnt do enough for me and i was upgraded to the honeymoon suite which was fantastic with its own jacuzzi on the balcony. A special thanks to Nicola (thomas cook rep) & Gokchean the events manager who ensured my day went to plan - i really couldnt fault it and it was truly a memorable day. If i was to be picky - I think it would be good if the little snack bar did ice creams for kids rather than need to buy from the on-site shop. I would definitely return back to this hotel - loved it!!

Where to start... After arriving NINE hours late this hotel couldn't of been more accommodating. We stayed for 1 week from the 4th June. Check in was quick and easy and we were helped with our bags to our room (3402). As this was a junior suite me and my partner were not disappointed it was BEAUTIFUL!

The hotel it's self was great, large, clean, friendly staff. Especially our maid can't remember her name but she was lovely!! The spread of good was more than enough for me and my partner we couldn't eat enough.

The beach or decking area is a nice quiet get away as Is the infinity pool. The hotel entertainment was first class. Although we didn't join in our balcony overlooked the main pool and 10 am every morning we sat and watched some hilarious antics and dancing.

Took a trip into bodrum every night on a bus from outside the hotel that leaves around every 5 minutes. Buses only cost 3TL, takes around 15 mins and runs until 5am!

Overall I can't fault this hotel and I could sit here and type a book full of my experience. Would definitely return and have convinced some friends of mine to check it out! Thank you ersan!!

(Ps.avoid monarch! Absolute nightmare getting out to bodrum!!)

Just returned yesterday from a family holiday that included 26 of us, First and foremost the lay out is terrible!!! Everythings a major trek from reception and to the beach it includes 8 flights of stairs and the block we stayed at had no lifts. Our booking included 4 people over 70 years old and 3 Familys with buggies it wasn't very good, Also at night the animation team was a joke, After 10 o clock there was nothing I insist the Ersan Management should get rid of them two lads there useless and arrogant, Instead at the bottom bar beside the fish restaurant they should have bands or even karaoke, Otherwise staff are pleasant enough and as for the rep Nicola we didn't even see her in 2 weeks. Definitely wouldn't recommend it!!!!

Loved this hotel and had an awesome holiday, 14 nights is not long enough.
Firstly the views are amazing and the room we had was the biggest we have ever had as a family of 4. The rooms were kept clean daily with fresh towels and pool towels provided in the room every day. Air con and the safe was free which again is a big bonus and made our holiday easy. Location is perfect as their is a taxi and bus rank right outside the hotel and it is only 3 lira each to Bodrum main town and they run every 15 minutes.

The food was the best we have ever had on an all inclusive basis and the head chef (Executive Chef) was constantly checking the food across the many sections in the main restaurant. We was a party of 7 with 3 of them children and we all found plenty to eat every day and over indulged on the deserts. This is the first abroad holiday where I have even attempted desert as normally you are given jelly cream type blobs of food you can not identify but here it is proper food done extremely well. There are 4 alla carte restaurants of which we only visited the Italian one twice and really enjoyed. I did not mind paying for the wine even though the cheapest bottle was 60 lira as it was really nice wine, I did however refuse to pay 8 lira for a can of pop.

On our first day we went straight to the slide pool as that was why we booked this hotel and was at first told our son could not go down alone because of his armbands. He is 6 and wanted to be with his older cousin and brother and the lifeguard was very understanding in allowing him to go down if we was waiting at the bottom of the slide for him. This became tiring for us as at the slide pool so we went to the main pool and spent rest of our holiday here. The entertainment team are around the main pool and the kids loved to get involved in the games and dances. Joseph, Musar, Max and Sergi (sorry if I am spelling your names wrong) became favourites early on in our holiday but I really feel that we got to know most of the team and had great fun joining in the games. The team are with you throughout your holiday and work extremely hard and long hours. Whilst we are resting and getting ready for the evening they are still at it and when we are going for tea they are there dressed up outside the restaurant doors. The team also do the mini disco and then the main show at night and this is where the shows are not as good as what we have had before. This is no fault of the team as in other hotels you would have the in house shows mixed in with other nights where outside shows would be on and I never would have expected Musar that I had seen around the pool all day would be on stage blowing fire that same night (WOW). Not sure why the bar for drinks is so far from the amphitheatre but the bar staff helped us carry if they were able to.

P.s note to the Brits as the team know that if you say "maybe" to joining in on an activity that you mean no.

Zelal at miniclub is also awesome as the activities she runs enticed our children most afternoons in our second week. It is unlike any other kids club and is the first time our kids have begged to go and at 11, 9 & 6 I would not have expected them to want to.

There is not much to fault at this hotel except from the noise from the new open air nightclub that we could hear the beats from at our room. This did not wake you up but if you got up in the night to visit the bathroom it was then hard to get back to sleep. Also I saw maintenance going around fixing wooden slats but we saw a few that were broken or loose at the bars and around the pool. Do not pack your heels as this resort is hilly and these slats ruin your heels !

You should experience this all yourself and write your own glowing review and when you do book give the teams a big high five from us :-)

We have just returned after two great weeks in Ersan 24/5/13 to 7/6/13 I would probably give the overall 4.5/5 as there were a couple of minor things that could be improve slightly.
We would like to thank the Animation team who were all friendly and kept us entertained throughout with a variety of activities, games and fun pool games, however while some of the evening shows were very good , a few were quite poor although I understand not every show will be to everyones taste, the second week the shows from the first week were also repeated I have read comments previously to advise shows in French etc , from our experience this was not the case as shows were in English but they had one of the animation team interpret in to French. The resort itself was wonderful with some real scenic views and was clean, they had two main pools the quieter one (no Kids) and the main pool where we spent much of our time with the animation team , its fair to advise the wooden floors look nice but we did pick up a few splinters (however there are signs around the pool to suggest footwear is worn and I would recommend you do this) however in its defence unlike other resorts with tiles etc around the pool I didn't see any kids slip or fall as surface wasn't then slippy so good in that respect. There was plenty to do throughout the day if you wanted to break the day and we met some wonderful people while we were there, the guests were mainly English, French and Polish which for us makes the holiday meeting people of different cultures. We have two Children (aged 10 & 6) who both loved the Waterslides (as did their parents) and the youngest enjoyed the kids club when she attended. The food in the hotel was nice and plentiful and the service most times was really good (be reminded no meat from a pig so don't expect Bacon & Pork etc) so at times meat can be a bit repetitive but kind of expected this before we went and had no issues with this, they also have a snack bar by the waterpark serving chips, toasties, Chicked, Chicken Nuggets, Hot Dogs and Burgers etc We stayed in the family room (Octopus room 4303) which was fine and overlooking the waterpark (even numbers have sea view/pool view) the rooms were cleaned daily and fresh towels provided, the only criticism of the rooms was the balcony was extremely small and could accomodate one chair and one small table, we moved the table out to fit another chair from the room but it's very cosy, I feel these could have been made a bit bigger for those who like to sit out especially when the kids are in bed. We tried 3 of the a La Cartes (Italian, Turkish and Mexican ) we never tried the Fish reataurant while the food was nice the wines / beers are well overpriced (very expensive!!) and maybe an option could be made available to guests as alll inclusive some drinks other than table water could be made availble. Ice creams while not expensive (3 TL each) were not part of the package again something that could be considered for kids and they only piut Ice Cream on in the restaurant 2 nights in 2 weeks (On Turkish Nights), The bars had limited alcohol available (Beers, Wines, Gin, Vodka and Raki only in the main Pruva bar , and only wine/beer in the Tuana bar so if you like other drinks be aware, I would like to have seen a wider range of drinks across more bars and maybe a couple of other Coffee/Bar breakout areas etc. For those who like to get away from the resort the public transport is easy you can get a bus from the entrance of the resort to Bodrum for 3 TL/pp and its only 15 minutes or so away. We were also blessed with great weather for the two weeks (apart from out last afternoon when cloudy - can't blame Ersan for that) , so from our perspective the overall Holiday experience was a good one , we will return but just hope a few minor changes will take place before we go back to make it for us the perfect resort. Thanks again Ersan for looking after us so welll.
