“chilled out hotel on the beach”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 September 2013 via mobile

Arrived late afternoon in bitez. The journey through gumbet was very hilly and the coach from thomsons struggled up some roads. Was dropped round the corner at the apartments so had to drag our cases down to pedestrianised beach front to hotel in blazing sun.
Was helped with cases to a twin room at the far end of hotel overlooking pool. The room was quite small but compact with enough drawers at least for clothes and a wardrobe. We needed aircon as room stuffy at night. We had a tele and fridge. Stayed B&b which was surprisingly good but ate out every evening.
All restaurant menus have same foods but all cooked food differently so only ate at certain ones. The steaks were small but only 30lr £10 with sauces but check the ingredients as a dianne sce to them is a tomato and pepper one at Almera restaurant but tasty. The beach was stony more than sandy and water was shallow.
Visited gumbet one evening but town centre crummy . Beach ok there better sand than bitez and shallow water. More mither from shop keepers here prefered bitez as a chilled out resort but needs more bars than restaurants.lots of turkish holiday here and danish too. Not many waiters speakin english tho.
Didnt try any boat trips but plenty on offer. .

We stayed here from the 18-29th August 2013 very nice clean little villiage Hotel set on the front of Bitez Beach, mostly full of Turkish guests, some very good English speaking staff. We stayed with our daughter who has spacial awarness problems who is 23year old and our 15 year old son my husband and i. Initially we had requested with Thompson s to have rooms on the ground floor and close together we arrived at 04.15 and the rooms were a long way from each other, the childrens room was in a very dark situated area near the pool with no lighting. I found it hard as i was worried that my daughter would fall over. I spoke to the manager the next day, he said he did not have any other room at the moment but he would mend the lights so my daughter could see the 3 steps leading to her room and try the next day for another room.
He did all of this and on the 3rd day my son and daughter were moved nearer to us.

the pool area is very nice with ample sun loungers as most residents go to the beach, although there is a bar it is currently being finished and we have been told it will be up and running next summer. The outdoor seating around in the hotel is very picturesque so relaxing, every day we said we would go into Bodrum on the Dolmish the bus but we never made it as we could not leave the relaxing atmosphere.
we were Bed and breakfast, the rooms were clean and adequate they had a fridge, which really was not use and the electric was only live when the key was in the slot on the wall, this means if your out all day the fridge is warm! you are discouraged from bringing in your own food and drink however the Turkish residents often did a trip to burger king in nearby gumbet, so i dont think its much of a problem. No problems with hot water and the showers were very powerfull. the air con is £5 per night its a good idea to try if before you pay for the entire holiday incase its naff, as some are good some are not, but they are nice units and not very old. Our bed was not very comfortable and we only had one pillow each which caused bad nights sleep :@{

The beach is very small and shingle, however you need to be up around 8am to put towels on the sunbeds if you want to spend the time on the beach as it gets full very early on in the day.

Breakfast was a traditional Turkish one with Helim, Olives, cucumber, bread, yogurt, water melon, jams nutella bread, and butter, no toaster however if you ask they are more than happy to toast your bred if you ask them for no charge. A small amount of cereals, one english gentlman and his wife were half board, and told they could not eat off the normal menu as it was not in the budget they contested this and were then allowed to.

I have just returned from staying for 7 days at this Hotel and it was fantastic. The bedrooms are a good size, basic with quaint decor but always very clean. The bathroom had all amenities and shower was very powerful always with hot water. I would recommend getting the air conditioning which is an extra £5 a night but not unreasonable and does make a difference on the hot nights! We did visit the hotel pool area which was very clean and nice as well as the gardens.

The hotel is right on the beach front with lots of sunbeds and plenty of room to relax, it was Ramadan when we went and so apparently quieter than usual. The beach is coarse sand so not a traditional fine sand beach but still very pleasant for sunbathing and evening walks. I recommend an early morning trip to the sea as it is as calm and still as a lake! Very pretty.

We went with Tompson and booked a few trips; the Dalyan trip was amazing, don't be put off by the long travelling it's well worth the visit and we were lucky enough to see a Loggerhead Turtle at Turtle Beach. We also booked a trip to Turgetreis Market which is not for the faint hearted but a good way of seeing Turkish life and getting some bargains! We went ourselves into the centre of Bodrum which is pretty easy by bus (Dolmus) and on the last day went on the Chill Out Cruise which is the perfect last day activity if your flight times allow! Very relaxing and fun and we were lucky enough to see some dolphins!

The staff were the people who really made the trip though. We paid a very reasonable price and so honestly were not expecting too much from the hotel. Prices there were very reasonable and we ate there regularly. Breakfast was a basic usual buffet breakfast but definitely adequate. The staff could not be more helpful and were always there to have a laugh and joke and offer advice on what to do in the area. They also looked after our bags after check out when we went out on the last day. They are also one of the very few hotels along the front not to pester passers by into coming into the restaurant which was very refreshing!

I would rate it way above its' 2 star rating as it was such a great hotel and should definitely be considered a great getaway :)

Room Tip: We stayed in 212, apparently rooms on the second floor have the best hot water as it is solar powere...

We stayed for two weeks. The room was above average for the rating with a balcony and excellent powerful shower with hot water always on.Breakfast good enough with cereal, bread, meats, melon, boiled eggs, nescafe and orange juice.Comfortable bar and spacious restaurant.Sun beds and beach furniture good and we always got one despite the age old problem of the towels on beds at the crack of dawn.Really helpful staff who could not do enough for you.Secluded peaceful swimming pool at rear .If you have mobility issues you would need a ground floor room although staff will happily take cases to rooms for anybody.Easy stroll to all the other restaurants.Multi lingual lady visits bar from 10-11 a.m and 4-5 p.m for boat trip reservations although Osman at the bar will take them at any time.Ten to fifteen minute stroll to harbour for these trips.Frequent Dolmus buses to Bodrum.

This hotel lived up to all expectations. It was right on the beach with free sunbeds. Beautiful pool at the back of the property. The room we were shown when we arrived was not as described (sleeping 2-3 and spacious) it was very small but as soon as we spoke to the reception manager this was rectified within the hour. The rooms were kept spotlessly clean throughout our stay. We were on bed and breakfast and no complaints at all on the Turkish breakfast, very wide choice, eggs, cheese, meat, yoghurt, cereals and very fresh bread.
We ate in the restaurant most lunchtimes and occasionally in the evening and all meals were excellent. The staff were top notch, always willing to help with anything. Overall a fantastic little hotel for a very relaxing holiday.

Room Tip: Room 215 was perfect for us. First floor with good balcony and garden view.

Our 4th time at Toloman and again not disappointed. This is a very Turkish hotel with basic rooms but so very clean. If you want 4* then look and pay for it. The owners and staff are wonderful and this years proved so. I broke my ankle on 2nd day of holiday and was looked after by every-one. Owner arranged hospital and even came to visit, waiters fantastic helping when-ever I needed it. Ouzo in reception great did all my phoning around arranging taxis etc and brilliant English. Rob in restaurant so helpful and again brill. English and as I said before every-one wonderful and why people say not friendly amazes me. Most guests Turkish but we still greeted them and found they all responded. The position on beach is heaven and I would not change it for any fancy Hotel, we have stayed in all inclusive 5* so know what we are talking about but I am sorry if some people did not enjoy their stay we love it and will be back next year.
