The hotel is lovely, the bedroom suites are very spacious with seperate lounge area with fridge and large balcony with amazing views over to kos. The hotel had lovely gardens and views and a swimming pool which i always had to myself when i was there unlike many hotels in bodrum. The bathrooms were plenty big enough with a large power shower which was great. The breakfasts were nice and it was so lovely to be able to sit out and enjoy the view enjoying my scrambled eggs in the morning. The hosts Rory and gary were wonderful so helpful and i enjoyed a drink with them and other guests in the bar in the evenings. Rory and gary have aquired 2 dogs sampson and troy both friendly gentle animals who all the guests fuss over.(if you dont like dogs dont worry they will keep them away from you) . I went to kos for day which i very easy and the crossing is about an hour. This is a great place to stay which i found on trip advisor and agree with all the other reviews and excellent comments on the hotel.

We stayed at the AG in mid-September, and loved the place. Everything that has been said already is true. Gary and Rory (the owners) were very warn and welcoming, we felt like we were visiting old friends. Every one of our requests was handled by Gary and Rory, including arranging for a rental car, a restaurant suggestion and even champagne to celebrate our engagement. The view from the hotel, especially the third floor rooms, is amazing. The rooms themselves were clean, with all of the essentials, although we did not spend much time in the room. The pool is small, but enjoyable. The hotel is about a ten minute (uphill) walk from town, but the distance is nice when the clubs and bars get loud. Our favorite experience in Bodrum was coming back to the AG after a long day and enjoying a drink with Gary, Rory, and the other guests. We hope to return one day.

It is very difficult to write a review about this special place as it is no ordinary hotel. It is even harder to add to the comments in the previous reviews.

Anyhow, here's our two pence worth: My wife and I stayed here for 11 nights starting at the end of September. We have never stayed anywhere like this. It really felt like we were in a private apartment with our own pool and bar.

I must emphasise that the hotel has an undertone that encourages the guests to "become" relaxed without knowing it. Try and fight it all that you can, as there is no turning back!
We were more than happy to simply lounge around the pool all day - EVERY day. How relaxed can you get? I guess it didn't help that the last call for breakfast was at 11am! The suites are all very spacious and the upper level suites all have their own balcony. Great for lunching etc.

The hotel has some *permanent" residents in the form of 2 dogs (Samson and Troy) and Spike the cat (who also thinks he's a dog!). You soon find yourself enquiring after their wellbeing.

The Hotel *management* felt friends rather than owners. We cannot praise Rory and Gary highly enough. They provide excellent suggestions for your time in Bodrum and the surrounding area.

If you wish to party hard or just grab a quiet bite to eat, then Bodrum provides more than enough options for you.
The Hotel is a pleasent 10 minute walk from the town or a 2 minute taxi ride. Should you walk, be warned that Bodrum is quite "hilly".

So why wouldn't you stay here? Well, if "all inclusive" hotels are more your thing then this really isn't the place for you. But if you wish to be tested as to how relaxed you can possibly be - then you could end up like us - as a certified "Aegean Gate Hotel" relaxed person! Fighting it becomes impossible!

Stayed here with my husband and lay looking out at the sea most days and had to drag ourselves away for one day to visit Ephesus.
When it is too hot , there are lots of beautiful little spots to take to the shade. The tented area with cushions was my favourite!
Gary and Rory are great hosts and will be there when you need them and invisible when you don't!
We only stayed for six nights and wished we had stayed for longer.
Spike, Samson and Troy (the house pets) added to the atmosphere and breakfasts were definitely worth getting up for (although as it was an 11am last orders, even we could manage it!).
Others have posted more lengthy reviews so here is my precis:-
Property and pool immaculate ( Hotel is up a bit of a bank-taxi rank near by for those that need it!)
Shower pressure -the best in Turkey!
Nearby restaurants-many and varied. Gary only recommends those he has tried and tested.
Drinks from the bar at reasonable prices-not hotel prices!
Totally relaxing place to stay and recover from the stresses of modern day living.-enjoy!

we arrived at 7am one morning after a night flight and were able to check into a room without the usual hassle of early check ins.
After a couple of hours of sleep we strolled onto the terrace for breakfast served up to 11 am:how civilised is that?
Scrambled eggs ,or yogurt and cheese ,melon ,,toast, coffee etc
even soft -boiled eggs with soldiers, nothing is too much trouble
for Gary and Rory the genial irishmen who run the place.
We had room 6 on the top floor with balcony overlooking the sea,a sitting area with a couple of sofas,tv fridge ,tea making ,seperate bedroom and adjacent shower room.
Thankfully we had air-con which in the 40deg heat was a blessing.
We sat with our hosts most nights before and after dinner by the pool together with samson and troy the dogs and spike the cheeky cat,
The best meal we had all week was at a restaurant in the hills above Bodrum recommended by Gary ,a car arrived to take us there and back without any charge,
This is a small hotel with a totally personal service by two great guys who go the extra mile to make sure you have an enjoyable stay.
The hotel closes in a few weeks for the winter period, be sure to book early for next year.
