“Absolutely Amazing!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 September 2010

This hotel is as the title suggests, brilliant! We have just got back from a two week stay and we literally cannot fault it. The staff are friendly and polite, always willing to make your stay perfect. The pool is out of this world, comfortable luxury, and spotless. The rooms are well set out and cleaned daily with fresh linen and towels.

The hotel is in a pefect location for either Bodrum or Gumbet. Both are different, we found Bodrum quieter and a little more expensive but lovely. Gumbet is livelier and a little cheaper. We usually went to the bays via taxi which cost no more than 12 lira, which is around 5/6 pounds.

The breakfast was lovely, lots of choice and great to sit outside by the pool whilst eating it.

Although the mini bar is expensive, it isnt doing any harm in your room, just make sure you dont drink anything from it! The calypso bar is lovely. The drinks are 8 lira, which is a little pricey but nobody is making you pay it! The food is lovely there and prices are exactly the same as in Bodrum so absolutely no complaints there!

I have to say that the staff work so hard, they are a credit to the hotel. Especially the male cleaner/maid works who ridiculously hard for very early in the morning, right through until 1/2 am.

Hotel was brilliant- cannot fault it. Made the holiday extra special, would recommend to anybody.

A few tips...

A resturant we adored in Bodrum was the cookshop - an italian in a perfect location. Only fault for this place was the service.
In Gumbet, we ate regularly at the Windmill, which offered lovely service and gorgeous views.
In the evening we visited the no name bar in Gumbet several times, really lovely friendly staff and good prices.
We had lunch at the Marina Restaurant in Bodrum one day and were totally ripped off- I wouldnt go there again as you can get much more and better quality elsewhere. Also found the yacht club very rushed, and not very friendly at all.

The supermarket across the road sell fresh bread for less than a lira, add a filling and you have your lunch sorted! Bottled water and other refreshments are also really reasonably priced.

Excellent Holiday!

The best thing about this hotel has to be the stunning pool area. The sun loungers were really comfy and there was usually plenty to go round. It was very quiet around the pool and there were no kids there the majority of the time.

The rooms were nicely decorated and were kept spotlessly clean the whole time we were there. There was a good selection of toiletries and nice touches like a bathrobe and slippers. The memory foam bed and pillows were really comfortable.

Breakfast was what you would expect in Turkey - a large amount of fruit, salad and bread, but the hot food was not that great (pizza for breakfast anyone?!) We were a little dissapointed as there was no one cooking fresh hot food such as omlette, but obvoiusly this isn't the end of the world!

The spa facilities were fantastic if you like that sort of thing - we didn't try anything other than the steam room and sauna due to the cost of massages etc.

The major negative of this hotel is the extortionate bar and food prices. A cappuchino is £5, a small beer around £ 8 and a vodka and coke around £10. As for the mini bar - if you had a can of coke it was £4, and a small bottle of whiskey was £15! Had the prices been lower we would have got drinks here everyday. I would reccomend getting your own stuff from the shops and sneakily drinking it round the pool - the hotel didn't seem that bothered.

The location was actually much closer to Gumbet than Bodrum (5 minute walk). Gumbet is great if you fancy a club 18-30 holiday or like to go on holiday to eat nothing but english food and drink yourself senseless surrounded by chavs. The beach is absolutly filthy. Bodrum is more upmarket, and has some really nice resturaunts that are on the harbour just off of bar street. Our major complaint (no fault of the hotel) is how expensive eating and drinking is in this area, a 2 course meal with two drinks will easliy set you back £50. You'll be lucky if you can get a vodka and coke for less that £4. This was dissapointing as when we went to Olu Deniz last year you could get a 3 course meal with wine for £25 max. The excursions were also about half the price. The whole reason we chose Turkey was for the good value.

On the whole, the hotel was beautiful, but as for the area we much prefered Olu Deniz/Hisaronu and I would reccommend staying there instead.

P.S Just a word of warning - if you hire a moped be careful where you park it. We came back from dinner in Bodrum to find it had been towed away by the police, despite no warning signs saying you couldn't park there It was a £50 fine and a whole wasted day trying to get it back. Very Stressful!

What a fantastic hotel. The staff were very friendly, helpful and courteous yet professional. The hotel is welcoming, absolutely spotlessly clean, the food was good and ambience superb. I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody and although perhaps not European 5 star - it certainly is not far away. The only slight down side is the location which is far from the beach (but fine as I had a hire car) and the cost of drinks at the pool bar - but that is the price you pay for exclusivity and a marvellous view of the pool. You'll want to return!

I travelled to the Bodrium Boutique with my boyfriend and paid £1013 for two weeks bed and breakfast, a small fortune to us. It was nice....but not worth the chic and unique status, and for that price I expected luxury and above and beyond service. Instead we received good service, nothing more, nothing less. I will review different parts of the holiday in detail...

Hotel:
Hotel was very nice, modern and clean. The rooms were a good size and there was plenty of space for suitcases/ clothes, the bathrooms were modern, however there was often the smell of sewage, but I think that is something you will get everywhere. The pool was lovely, enough sun beds for everyone, not really suitable for children but there were families staying there. Bar was a nice place to relax in, however VERY expensive, 9 lira for a small beer and 25 lira for cocktails. In resorts these were on average 5 lira and cocktails varied on whether you were in Bodrum or Gumbet. We tended to go to our room for drinks and food at lunch! Breakfast was the usual, fruit, toast, cereals, waffles, nothing special, butter was disgusting...do not try! The hotel was mainly full with Turkish guests, with just a couple of English families. We spent most days at Bitez beach which is a short dolmus ride away, (light blue dolmus), beach was lovely, shallow and clean and food was cheap.

Resort:
Hotel is closer to Gumbet than Bodrum, however both are easy to get to and I would advise people to experience them both as they are very different. Bodrum is a dolmus ride away, this cost 2.5 lira per person (Turkish people 2 lira we realised!), and 5 min ride away. There were a lot more restaurants in Bodrum and we preferred the food here, however there are not that many bars, compared to Gumbet. The atmosphere is more subdued near the Marina, which was our favourite area to eat. The other end, near the castle was VERY busy at night! It was nice to look around all the shops, but you could easily get lost as we did! Now onto Gumbet....the rep at our hotel told us it was about half an hour walk away and gave us very hard directions, however a man staying at the hotel told us it was literally a 5 min walk away...which it was! There are plenty of bars, and restaurants, however definitely not enough we fancied for the 2 weeks...Be very wary of the restaurants in Gumbet....a lot changed prices on menus and on bills, offered discounts and never gave them, we found this very annoying and did challenge them, which they seemed very shocked we had noticed, so they must do it a lot. Our favourite restaurants in Gumbet were the Windmill and Aloha Bar, in Bodrum the best restaurants are Cookshop (Italian) and a white and blue restaurant next to it which was very cheap and sometimes a ten min wait but definitely worth it.

Also...our rep told us the bazzaar (Turkish market) took place on a Saturday...she was wrong...it was a Tuesday and takes place next to the bus station. I would definitely recommend this.

Overall, we were constantly comparing this holiday to last year’s when we stayed in Kalkan (Turkey). We found Kalkan to be a lot nicer, and we paid less than half the price for it, however it wasn't a bad experience in Bodrum, my advice is pick a different hotel, as this one is HIGHLY overpriced.

Excellent hotel. Pool and area was stylish with good facilities, free sauna etc etc .
However, whilst pool area was relaxing and like hotel spotlessly clean.....9 turkish lira for a small beer and 8 turkish lira for a sprite.
Pool side food expensive and average.

Better to go left out of hotel entrance down hill to ZEYTIN restaurant and bar.You will be warmly welcomed by Sylvester, who speaks good English, plus large beer only 5 lira and 3 lira for a sprite.
If you go there ask for "hot bread" starter. If you like indian food, the sauces that come with hot bread are superb.
We have 3 teenagers and in 10 days we ate there 4 times and was simply excellent and tremendous value...do not miss Zeytin...its on the corner of a crossroad 5 mins from hotel

We got a fantastic bed and breakfast deal with Thomson for this lovely hotel. The rooms are quite small with not much storage but they are all very nicely done and all overlook the pool. A very smart pool area with smart loungers and attentive staff. The pool bar prices were rather high however. Ten minutes from Bodrum harbour and £5 taxi from the other bays so pretty much perfect location.

Very nice and clean hotel, good selection of food at breakfast (buffet),staff was kind but superficiality, king size Tempur mattress and pilow-never slept so well and comfy at any hotel, nice and clean pool area with towel's and deck chairs, bar ok but bit pricey, most of the guest was having sneaky drinks and snaks at the pool area.
10-15 min walk to Carrfour,McDonald,Domino Pizza and very nice Turkish Restaurant at Turgutreis Yolu crossroad opposite place with ceramic pot's,Oasis Shopping Center
