Always popular. Behind the mosque. We had delicious soup and meatballs plus drinks for two =<TL80. Good place to watch the world go by.

“Best Authentic Meze in Bitez”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 June 2014 via mobile

Having tried a number of places to eat in Bitez seeking really good authentic meze, we found the black cat. Refreshing not to be hassled or continually haranged to look at the menu or to come inside, we looked at the menu in peace & once decided we went on in where we were seated with none of the seafront restaurant fuss of being given "the best table in the world" etc. We chose the wrapped vine leaves, the mixed olives and the cheese pastry rolls to start. All of which were lovely. Fresh chunky bread came with the meze too. For main I had the chicken shish & hubby had the meatballs. Again both consistently good tasty food without the unnecessary chips, rice and multi carb overload that many places provide for tourists. You could chose which you had and a salad accompaniment came too. We were too full for puddings but thoroughly enjoyed the meal enough that we went back last night. I chose multiple mezes instead of a main, including the cooked aubergine which was an amazing cold starter. Again a lush authentic flavourful meal. Might manage one last visit as our last night of our holidays approaches. I already know I'm gonna try the king prawns after spying them on someone else's plate, they look fab!
Really reasonably priced, good food with no hassle & usual tourist tosh to get you in. It's small & busy but there's always room.

“A calm oasis”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2014

This restaurant is clean and pleasant, off the main beach-front road so quieter but still has an atmosphere. The menu is not extensive but enough and has something for everyone. No one hassled as we approached which was refreshing, we could choose whether to enter or not without pressure or persuasion. Very calm atmosphere and attentive, friendly service. Food and wine were good quality and well presented.
