“Amazing!!!”
Reviewed 11 July 2014 via mobile

We went here for 10 nights june/july...
Well we was so impressed from entrance all the way through! We had the most amwzing relaxing time! We did a few trips went to turgatris market, water park & qaud safri... best one was the market! Water park was good but it was way to hot to be walking up all the stairs! Qaud safri was a disapointment we drove round a field & the guy took all these profeasional pica and we never got to see them! We couldnt fault the location! Great beach, shame we only sat round the pool once as people are up at silly oclock to put towels down. Food was good lots of choice, & different dishes each day! would say bring evening meal time forward abit... we also tried a few other places to each sunset, vona n the lemon tree, lemon tree was by far our best meal out, it was perfect!! The staff where great and so friendly! We had a turkish bath at hotel this was lovely! Had use of gym, sauna, steam room & jacuzi. Would recomment going parasailing, its expensive but was so worth it! Would recommend only the irish singer once a week as it got abit boring. But overall we really enjoyed our stay & i hope we can return next yeae. Thankyou

Thank you for sharing your holiday experience with us . We will in the future obvıously have to be more diligent in our inforcement of the pool bed policy , our pool is a standard size and for health and safety reasons we have to restrict the number of sunbeds , sofas and loungers in the deck area and have relied on peoples good sense to use thebeds and leave them free when finished an ıdea which most people have gone along with but apparently no so during your stay thank you for highlighting this for me and we will be removing towels left unattende in the future
İt would be our pleasure to have you stay with us at any stage in the future , again thanks for review , we welcome any ıdeas which help us to deliver a better service

Stayed here for a week at the start of July. The room is quite modern and spacious, there were a few things that needed fixing but overall it was perfect for what we wanted.

The breakfast was your standard Turkish breakfast, a plus point though was a chef on hand making fresh eggs, omelettes and pancakes.

The pool area is lovely, however as most have said there is a lack of sun beds which means everyone getting up at the crack of dawn to put towels down. The happy hour at the pool bar isn't all it's cracked up to be, only 4 cocktails from a list of about 16, and the fact that the staff don't understand English makes it abit of an inconvenience when you only want 2 but end up with 4.

My only issues to speak of were staff from the spa constantly badgering you for treatments, even though you tell them from day one it's not your thing, and the other were the doorman of the ambrosia restaurant at the front who hammer you day and night to come in when you wish to try the other restaurants in bitez and even when you go in on a lunch time they pester you for dinner. Handy tip is to go out the front of the hotel and cut through manuella as they have a beach route ;)

Also I would advise you check your mini bar and notify them of any missing stuff that wasn't used, our mini bar was only stocked on our last day, and when we went through the list there was a can missing which we didn't think anything of, until they tried to charge us for it upon check out which was annoying.

It's close to the beach, and as most of the restaurants along the front has it's on private part, which is ideal when the pool sunbirds are taken up as there are loads there.

I would advice trying restaurants along the front as they serve up some really fantastic food. My top ones were seaside, sunset and vona.

Pros defiantly outweigh the cons, a nice little number and will defiantly return in the not to distant future.

My wife and I booked an 11 night holiday to this hotel end of June and early July 2014.

Firstly, I must say that it's always disappointing to have to write a negative review particularly since it means that I've paid for a holiday I haven't enjoyed as much as I would have hoped. Unfortunately this is the case here and I'm posting this review in order that potential visitors can understand what they may potentially experience. Hopefully the hotel management will take heed.

Initial impressions were positive. Pictures on the web are pretty accurate - the hotel is modern looking, an interesting design and well positioned on the beach at the quieter end of Bitez bay. However, the first 24 hours of our stay quickly left us regretting having chosen the place. Many of the issues were minor but it was the accumulation of these in such a short space of time that left us so disappointed. Examples included:
- patio door (ground floor) would not lock (maintenance man did come within the hour to resolve).
- no top cotton bed sheet (base sheet was strangely made up of two single sheets across the bed!) - issue resolved after first night but only after chasing.
- initially couldn't get safe to work as one of the numbers (0) on the digital lock would not respond. Gave up and after safe was reset the next day we simply avoided the faulty button.
- there appeared to be little or no sound insulation between our bathroom (room 110) and the bathroom room next door. We could hear almost every word spoken (and indeed everything else) coming from next door! Very disconcerting!
- plastic skirting corner board was not properly attached and kept coming off.
- ceiling spot light hung from the ceiling by two wires (made safe after reporting).
- glass wardrobe door kept sliding across when we were trying to access wardrobe causing my wife to bang her head on one occasion.
- had to go to reception to request a toilet roll - when this was not forthcoming on return to the room some hours later that day we eventually helped ourselves from the unattended maid's trolley.
- free wifi in public areas was fine when it worked but unfortunately during our stay it seemed to be offline more often than on.

Additionally, we found it difficult at times to attract the attention of some of the waiters (always seemed to be looking somewhere else). One in particular was quite rude when we only ordered a bottle of water with our meal! We found the food average.

This hotel really has a great deal of potential (many reviews are more positive than ours and that we were perhaps unfortunate with our allocated room (110) and experiences). However, I believe in the main the problems we encountered could be attributed to inept management and poor training. I really think a good manager(s) could kick this place into shape and make it worth the four stars it claims.

Finishing on some positives: we liked the two little Gazebos in the lawn area and the hotel location. The Dolmus pick up / drop off to/from Bodrum is situated directly outside the hotel which proved handy. Thomson rep (Tom) did his best to resolve our list of problems.

Room Tip: Suggest avoiding the ground floor rooms on the spa side (particularly 110!) where your balcony view...

Far from fınding your remarks negative İ found them helpful and informatıve any view shared gives us a better insight into how our guests percieve our hotel and that we find invaluable
As you quite rightly poınt out in your review your problems stemmed from a series of small issues which built up , İ do appologise had the issues been brought to our attention we could perhaps have resolved them and sent you home with a more positive experience, those issues you highlighted we dealt with speedily .
Hopefully you will return at some stage in the near future because Bitez is such a beautiful place and we do normally get it right more times that we get it wrong as is witnessed by our repeat guests, again thank you for taking the time to share your holıday experience with us
Many Thank

Stayed here for a week, first impressions are good - smart, decent pool and generally very clean.

There is a full gym and a decent spa offering Turkish baths (expensive compared to other places but don't regret paying the extra!).

The buffet food was good, with a large selection though some dishes made repeat appearances. There is an a la carte restaurant too and prices are pretty competitive with other beach front restaurants.

Entertainment provided every night though not always to my taste - one act gets repeated twice in a week.

The beach area is nice and kept quite clean.

The hotel is in a great location for getting the Dolmus into Bodrum - a cheap 20 minute ride and definitely worth doing on your own and not as a tour.

However there are a few issues:

1. Drinks in the hotel are expensive - water is 5x the price of the supermarket opposite. Alcohol prices not dissimilar to other bars, but still noticeably more. There are signs prohibiting brining in your own food/drinks from outside.

2. Pool looked great on arrival, but by the end of the week it hadn't been cleaned once

3. Rooms weren't cleaned until late in the day, and a couple of days it wasn't cleaned at all.

4. Some of the staff were rude and arrogant however most of them were warm and friendly. Some of the bar staff made extra effort to talk to you even though their English is not the best.

Before we visited we didn't know that the pool/evening bar is geared up as an Irish bar, of which there are many in Bitez and Gümbet.

My boyfriend booked this holiday as a surprise for our four year anniversary, when we got to the hotel we were amazed it was beautiful. Our room was ideal for us close to reception and the pool, beach etc the only bad thing was the view which was facing the opposite building, room was lovely and clean. All staff were really nice we even got a lift to Gumbet off the hotel owner in his range rover :) the location could not have been better right on the beachfront all the shops restaurants bars all along the beach, we were spoilt for choice where to eat everyday. The hotel food was not that nice buffet style food omelettes pancakes for breakfast we were half board but should have had room only as we ate out everyday. The town Gumbet is close by about 7 mins away In a taxi if u want to go out for more nightlife the hotel owner of ambrosia also owns the 3 biggest nightclubs in Gumbet which are pasha, x-bar, temple bar, we went out to temple bar which is more for English people in terms of music etc was a really good night brilliant atmosphere, friendly and safe people around. I would definitely go again loved turkey and loved the people, food location, weather. Definitely recommend this hotel and location. Amazing <3 xxx

Room was of amble size for a single person and was clean and tidy. Evening meal on a whole was exellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. lovely location and right by the beach which was good. Beware tho of " Happy hour", they kept changing what you could have at 2 for 1 and the girl who gave the change back needs to smile and count the money properly and they were slow serving, otherwise it was an enjoyable stay.

Stayed at the Ambrosia two nights. Our room was small but clean. A bit of a walk from the front desk, and some stairs. The pool was beautiful, but go early for a lounger. The beach on the other hand had no shortage of seats, so many that you could not see the sand (typical of this area). Food was typical hotel fare, not great. We ate breakfast on site and explored Bodrum for other meals...all excellent but pricey. Variety store just down the street was very handy....a great time overall...great place to relax!
