Nice stay at the Summer Gardens. Like the changes, the balcony sun terrace, the small quiet pool has moved to a more sunny location.
Still some old faces to say hi to . Can not fault Faruk aka Taz. Excellent customer service.
Great shop now its extended and Murats handbag shop is inviting.
Ideal for families as the pool is great, lots of seating in the shade at the bar.
Clean rooms, great maids.
Great Turkish night and good food.

The Summer Garden Apart and Hotel was a lovely place to stay if you are staying in Bitez. There are 2 pools the best one by far is the main pool which has a children's water slide, the age limit for the slide is ages 3 - 12. The main pool goes up to 2 metres deep but the shallow water is 1 meter deep. At the bottom of the water slide the water is 42 cm deep. There is a massage room where you can choose between 4 different massages. You can have an hour massage which is 32 euro or a 1/2 an hour massage which is 20 euro. By the pool there are sunbeds and a bar where you can purchase drinks and I think that you can purchase snacks aswell. The drinks you can bye are things like coke, ice tea, alcholic drinks, juice and fizzy drinks. Every day at the bar there is a different alcoholic drink, including pina colada and a drink with vodka in it. Every night there is a different entertainment act. These include : a Turkish Night, Bendy Man, a Circus Show, a Snake Show, and a Fire Show. Bendy Man can fit himself into a suitcase. BEWARE - WITH THE SNAKE SHOW AND THE FIRE SHOW, THE MAN WHO DOES IT, DOES GO INTO THE AUDIENCE AND ASK FOR VOLUNTEERS BUT HE UNDERSTANDS IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO PARTICIPATE. AT THE END OF THE SNAKE SHOW THE MAN WHO DOES IT GOES INTO THE AUDIENCE GETTING PEOPLE TO HOLD A SNAKE AROUND THEIR NECKS, BUT ONCE AGAIN HE UNDERSTANDS IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO HAVE IT AROUND YOUR NECK. Next to the hotel is a shop where you can buy food, drink, alcohol, sunglasses, souvenirs, cigarettes, cigarette lighters, chewing and bubble gum, lilo's and things for the pool, ice cream, and english newspapers and magazines. The rooms are perfectly clean as is the bathroom. My family was split into to rooms even though we were a party of four, but we had no reason to complain as we were only in the room for sleeping, showering, using the toilet and changing. The staff are very lovely and all of the staff speak english.

Having read prevouis reviews we were concerned what our holiday at the Summer Garden appartments/ hotel would be like. Having just arived back today 28/08/2011 we can honestly say that having travelled for the past 20 years this was one of the best holidays we have had. The apartments although basic ( which most are in turkey) were cleaned regualy and were sufficent for anyones needs. The staff were more than helpfull. There was entertainment every night, some nights better than others. Pool area very clean and could always get sunbeds. The beach was a 2 minuite walk where all sunbeds were free all resturants are along the beach all were very good but would highly recommend the almera and oculiptous. We were a family of four ( two tenage boys and two adults) and ate out for no more than £40.00 per night. Waterpark good value for money. We would definatly go back.

We were on a self catering basis, but we never cooked in the room. We had a one bedroom apartment. It was basic but clean. The room was cleaned daily, bins emptied etc and the linen is changed twice weekly. The bar staff, Taz and Sammi are lovely and good craic. Bobby and Jimmy in the restaurant really look after you and the food is good. The hotel is very near the beach and restaurants. Overall it is a good base, near to the beach and the resort of Bitez is really lovely and laid back.

This was an apartment in a hotel complex. The room was very clean and serviced every day although the bed was on the hard side and not too comfortable for a 2 weeks stay. We were on a HB basis but had kitchenette facilities to cook our own food if we so wished. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was right near the pool area but the pool did not open until 9am. Breakfast was self service with varied choice of cold continental style and warm omlettes/boiled eggs. If you prefer to have a traditional full English breakfast, you can get this in the town (2 mins away) for approx £2.00.

We would recommend you have the traditional Turkish bath on your first day, which actually leaves your skin feeling lovely and smooth after they have removed all your dead skin through a scrub/massage which is good for getting a tan. However, we would not recommend you use the one offered by your tourist rep but go to a local one in the town. We have had Turkish baths before and decided to go with the one our rep recommended. Unfortunately, the experience left us very disappointed and unhappy. We were kept waiting for hours (yes, at least 3/4 hours!) as the staff seemed totally disorganised. The actual scrub/massage was very rushed and not at all relaxing as it should have been. We were picked up from our hotel at 5pm and did not return until 9.30pm. We complained to our rep who was very apologetic and offered us a complimentary one in the local town of Gumbet nearby at the Sultan Baths. This we enjoyed and would thoroughly recommend.

We actually preferred to go to the beach every day rather than the pool area because there was a constant breeze by the sea (which was very welcomed in the 40 degree heat!). Sunbeds on the beach were free provided you bought your drinks and snacks from the bars there (which were very reasonably priced). There was nightly entertainment in our hotel and also in the bars along the seafront.

No need to hire a car as the bus service is very good with buses running every 10 mins and you can hail them down anywhere. The price is 3tl (£1) and takes about 20 mins from Bitez to Bodrum. The buses run till 3am so if you want more upbeat night life in Bodrum, the choice is yours. All the bars seem to close by midnight in Bitez which is a quieter resort.

We enjoyed our stay and would come back again.

We were given a dirty small room but after a very short conversation were moved to a better room. Cleaners were excellent. Pool was nice and food was ok. Entertainment was poor but with some great bars on the bitez strip and the beach only used the hotel as a place to sleep. Overall did it's job

I tend to be realistic in my expectations of what I am likely to get for the price, but even so first impressions were disappointing. The self-catering "studio" was barely big enough to swing the proverbial cat ( there were plenty of wild cats in the vicinity if one wanted a real one rather than a proverbial one).

We were only given one large towel, although a request soon yielded more. The towels themselves were ragged and holed. There was only one small, very thin blanket and no top sheet provided as bedding. The curtains were so thin as to be pretty well pointless at keeping out light.

Kitchen facilities and equipment was very sparse, but as we tend to eat out this was not a problem. If you do intend to self-cater, then good luck..

During our week stay we had one power cut and one water cut.

The ground floor (single-story) apartment had a decent sized terrace, but it was shared with the neighbours and overlooked by apartments in every direction, so privacy and seclusion was non-existent.

Cleanliness of the apartment and the complex and pools was good. Staff were generally helpful and friendly, with the exception of one young guy who was clearly not happy in his work and prone to sarcasm and indifference.

The location is excellent, literally two minutes from the beach. I did not try the restaurant or bar but there was entertainment provided every night. This is our third trip to Bitez (which is a lovely place) and I will be back, but probably not to the Summer Gardens.

Room Tip: Try to get a room far from the bar, if you like your sleep.
