We stayed at the Queen Apartments in August. We found the apartment to be quite spacious for two people with a large balcony with a nice view of the boats. The apartment was cleaned every day and the sheets and towels were changed very frequently. We found the apartment to be on a par with most others we have had in various resorts in Turkey, no better but no worse. We bought mugs locally as there were only small cups and I cant comment on the cooking facilities as we didnt use them. The pool area is clean and attractive, although there are only 20 sunbeds for 16 apartments, so we struggled to get one for the first week. Irritatingly, people would put towels down and then disappear for the day, despite signs that reserving sunbeds was prohibited. We had a warm welcome from the owners but this became tepid during the first week as comments were made by Saff about us not using the restaurant. This may have been a joke but it made us uncomfortable and we felt that we were being forced to eat there. This was not a hardship as the food is lovely but I really didnt like feeling as though I had no choice in the matter.
We ate there four times and this seemed to appease him.
We found the extras at the Queen to be expensive. Expect to pay £90 for the safe and aircon for two weeks and £10 per week per gadget for wifi that doesnt work unless you are in a specific spot by the pool. Wifi is free in all of the other restaurants so just wait to check your email etc when you are in the beach or out in the evening. The aircon was adequate but I think it is ready for a service. We had to have it at 18 degrees to cool the room whereas we usually find 24 sufficient. The shower was good as we always had hot water whatever time we showered and the beds were comfortable. They are twin beds that have been pushed together but the mattresses have been placed horizontally to the bases. I found this very uncomfortable on the first night but I stripped the bed down and remade it so that we had a mattress each and it was very comfortable after that.
The service is excellent with the two young staff and the owners daughters being very attentive. The apartments have a lot of return visitors and you feel encouraged to socialise. Fine if that is what you want from your holiday, but myself and my husband go away to spend time with each other, not strangers. Because we kept to ourselves, Saff frequently asked if I was sad or in a bad mood. It got a bit wearing. We did enjoy our holiday at the Queen and the negatives were only little niggles and we would recommend the apartments but I feel they are better suited to people who go on holiday to make friends.
