“best place to stay in Bitez”
Reviewed 4 September 2010

We have just returned from a fantastic holiday in Turkey made even better because of the cottage we stayed in, If you are planning a trip to the Bodrum Peninsula I would highly recommend staying in Bodrum Garden Cottage in Bitez. It is a small cottage set in about an acre of mandarin grove, with a beautiful pool and extra summer room/tent to sleep more people. You are only five minutes walk from the beach yet you feel miles from anywhere it is so tranquil.

“First time to Turkey”
Reviewed 20 August 2010

We stayed in a cottage next door to Makumba Summer Gardens. Our accomodation was excellent complete with large patios/tented area BBQ and bread oven! We used the beach at Mayflower most days It really was too hot to venture any further (anyone else there from 9/8 till 17/8 will agree with me) We did go to the waterpark not huge but a fun day out.We also did a moonlight cruise which was great, considered an all day one but thought we were in danger of frazzling! Ate well at Lemon tree,Blue Moon,Black Cat,Pedesa,Central Beach & Mayflower (no particular order) We will be back but perhaps not August as would love to explore more. Attempted walk from harbour to Acquarium Bay but did'nt make it (sooo hot) jumped into sea at a lovely bay enroute though highly recomend this walk any questions ask.

“Blissful Bitez, Bodrum, Turkey”
Reviewed 4 August 2010

We stayed in Tumay Hotel, Bitez one hour from Bodrum airport mid July 2010. Excellent location. 5 mins walk to beach, plenty of buses to Bodrum. Bitez has a long beach, a lttle shingly but many restaurants have sandbags to ease the short pebbly walk. The beds on the beach are free and all the beach front restaurants are good. No hassle to stock up on drinks just because you've bagged a bed. It is good to chat the waiters. They have to have bums on seats at some time during the day. We ate in The Sultan, The Lemon Tree and ECE. Away from the beach Blue Moon and Le Mangal were good. The wine in Le Mangal was good wine compared to the cheap stuff "free" with a meal. The waiters were excellent but it was early days and no crowd. We ate there three evenings because the service was so good. Tumay is fairly basic, small clean rooms, very helpful staff but had to be asked for changes of towels and cleaning of room. No problem when you did ask. No point in complaining if you didn't. The air conditioning was extra and the noticeboard was out of date so I missed the trip to Ephesus. Will go back but might try self catering next time.

“a chilled place”
Reviewed 1 August 2010

My partner and i visited bitez in june 2010. We found it very chilled, relaxing and a lovely place to stay. We did get hassled by people to have meals and drinks but a simple no would be enough to stop them. The beach is shallow for 100 yards but a bit rocky to start off with. We used the sun loungers from the bar central beach and as it is the last bar at the harbour end their was always plenty of beds and quiter than other parts of the beach. Also the bar staffed were friendly and didnt harass you to buy drinks all the time. We went to ephesus for a day trip although it was a long, hot day it was very interesting and well worth the money. On route to epehsus we stopped at a gold store a bank loan was needed to buy anything. The local beer efes was 4 turkish lira and a glass of wine 5. A meal for two was 40 lira with drinks and most restaurants give free turkish flat bread with meals. The range of fresh fish that was on offer was very good although very limited shell fish. bitez is quiet so if your looking for a lively night out bodrum is only a 15 minute dolmus ride away which cost 3.50 lira. Would definitley visit bitez again.

“A Little Gem in Turkey”
Reviewed 7 July 2010

I requested ealier in the year a typical small Turkish village and Bitez was one of the suggestions. What a little gem, it was everything I asked for, small, attracts more Turkish holidaymakers than European which to me was wonderful, if anyone wants lively bars and nightlife I would suggest Gumbet or Bodrum. Bitez is so beautiful and laid back, the beach front is fantastic with gorgeous views. The nightlife is basically along the sea-front prom where there are wonderful restaurants (look at the restaurans just behind the seafront as well as their prices are usually lower and still good food). Loads of lovely seating areas where the Turkish locals as well as holiday makers just sprawl about . Just sitting and watching the world pass by was wonderful. We met lots of people who have been going back time and time again and they are still not bored. We went on a fantastic boat trip, small with maximum 8 on board but that gave us loads of room to laze about, free tea and coffee and lovely lunch all for £15, beers and soft drinks extra but most trips don't give you the free tea and coffees and you can have as many as you want. As the boat was small we could get closer into the bays. The trips are organised by Liz and Barney at the Toloman Hotel along the sea-front, if you go to Bitez and are interested then book quickly as it is so popular. So all things considered I have no hesitation in recommending this resort, I am definately going back next year loved it.
