We have just come back from a 7 day holiday in the Anka Hotel. I am stunned to read the previous report. Can we have been at the same hotel?I had booked a tripple room for the children and a double for us. The children's room consisted of a twin room, a double room and bathroom. It had much more than we expected. Ours was fab, a huge room, full length windows with stunning views, a comfortable double bed and a single, air conditioning and best of all, a jacussi bath. The balcony had unrivalled views, plenty furniture etc. I don't believe all the rooms were as lovely as ours but I didn't hear any complaints.
The food was plentiful, fresh, varied and suited all the different tastes in our family. We felt everything was freshly prepared, most of it in front of us. We probably over-ate as we enjoyed tasting all the options. The drinks were free flowing. The wines were in barrels to help yourself. The waiters were happl to keep your beers topped up. The children enjoyed the freedom of unlimited soft drinks.
The complex was kept imaculatly clean with beautiful flowers growing everywhere. The beds were decorated with the folded towels and scattered flowers every day.
The staff were very friendly. The 2 pools were excellent. There was a lovely turkish bath and sauna available free of charge to all. The treatments available were excellent and good value.
A local bus stoped outside the hotel every 5 mins and took you to the local town of Gumbet and on to Bodrum.
The only criticisms we would have was the entertainment and the fact that there were a lot of steps.....not good for the unfit, parents of toddlers or anyone with heart problems.
There was a mini disco for the under 12s, which was enjoyed by the younger ones, but the rest was not worth watching in our opinion. That being said, many did stay for it each evening.
This is only one families' opinion, but we are well travelled, and of varied ages, and would all like to return.
