I want to thank you to all Royal Asarlik family to make my holiday brilliant.
That was my first time in Turkey and it wont be last because of your good hospitalty.
Food was good-Service nice-reception staff friendly, sea wonderful, beach good. what I more J
Cleanless – cleaner staff was smıle every time they saw us.do her job very well there was one problem it is us (we want to much things but they never said no keep smile)
Pool – 2 pool were quıte enough especialy relax side green and blue very nice, snack buffet you can find every time something to eat and patesserie in relax side sweets and waffle (every day I take two)
Just one thing there suppose to be change or upgrade Animations. They are ok all nice person but can be more profesional. Turkish night means on top roof restaurant to much meal that you can imagine.you need someone to stop you to eat.music was average but different and local…
Gümbet night life you sould see one of the good things but carefull to crowded
Bodrum castle big place you need 2-3 hour to see all ower..
At the and Thanks again all of you See you on 2015

Having just got back yesterday from 10 nights at the Royak Asarlik hotel, Gumbet, Turkey we have a mixed bag of feelings about our stay there.
Having stayed at Asarlik last year with my family (including children) we thought we had found our ideal place in Gumbet to come back to each year, having gone back to Gumbet for 7 consecutive years now.
I cannot fault the cleanliness of the overall hotel although many of its features and furniture are loking slightly shabby now. Our room was comfortable and roomy, although we were on the inside corridor which meant having no balcony just lots of greeny and it was very gloomy; we couldn't tell whether the sun was shining each morning.

Dinner times were extremely disappointing and manic; it was like being stuck in the middle of a cattle market. They had changed the set up from last year; now putting all the food inside a very, very cramped place, no room to move between other hotel guests.
Also the food this year was not as nice as last year, very basic, almost no effort and the cheapest option of food. (always chicken) Not much variety, often cold and there was never any children's food left, as they never topped it up after the first batch was gone, and grown people were eaten it.
The que for freshly served food was horrendous. People were pushing in, squeezing friends and family in, I have never come across such a vast amount of rude people. No one says please, thank you or excuse me, apart from the English families ans a small minority of other cultures.
Be warned! You can't even get to the ready put out foods because the que winds its way around it, this I think has really let the facilities down and has not improved the facilities at all.
Furthermore, Be Warned! Do not leave your table unattended, even if you have drinks and bags on it, other gusets don't care and just take it or on several occasions we even witnessed the staff letting people have it even though they were aware it was someone elses table.
On many occasions during breakfast and dinner time we were ignored by staff, not even given new cutlery but they were quite happy to serve the Turkish. On one occasion we sat for 5-10 minutes inside one morning, we had no cutlery, no water of clkothes on the table, a member of staff removed some dirty crockery and never came back with clean stuff. He continued to serve others around us, it was like we were invisible so we got up and left.
However, if you do get the chance to meet Haroon you'll be under good hands, he is extremely friendly, helpful and polite and will do anything to help.

We were happy to be supplied bottled water this year throughout the hotel, which is a fast improvement from last year, its on hand when ever you want it.

You will never go hungry; there is food served alday in different places, although it becomes boring eating the same food day in and day out. Drinks are also on hand whenever you want at the bar. BUT! We experienced some rude and unhelpful bar staff. They would ignore many people, serve pretty girls first, even though you were there first, not speak, no manners and pull faces when you asked for drinks, completley bad-mannered, rude and unhelpful. With the exception of 1 or 2.

We were really cross to find on many occasions staff coming along taking sun umbrellas, when already being used, without having manners to ask, for someone else and when confronted they were quite rude, mumbling something back in there own language.

The biggest disappointment was the Animation team this year, they are unfriendly, don't speak, hardly speak any English, when last years team did. There's nothing for children to do. they don't interact with many people, encourage to play games.
Don't bother with them, they seem to only speak to there own nationalities and have no time for anyone else. This seems to be the case throughout the hotel, staff don't seem to have time for the Engish and won't go out of their way to help.
The evening entertainment was dull and uncreative.

Tourists from the area are extremely rude, no manners and will push in at any time.

The noise at night was loud coming from the foyer, people shouting most night at 1, 2 and 3 of the early hours of the morning, shouting across balconys at these times as well as they came back from the night clubs. There are a lot more single parties espaially young male groups, obviously coming to party all night, loud when they arrive back and don't have respect or other hotel guests especillly thode with young children.
These type of guest really let the hotel down, it did not feel like a nnice, relaxing family enviroment at all.
This is a real shame and really lets the hotel down, we certainly won't consider coming back, unless trastic changes are made.

Therefore, this holiday was a let down, apart from the weather everything else ruined our holiday.

Room Tip: I would reccomend the rooms on the outside of the hotel with balconys. Sunny, warm and nice to wake...

We booked a holiday at the Royal Asarlik Hotel 18th of June for a week booked at short notice the Friday before. Having been to Turkey 7 times we were quiet choosey what we wanted the reviews looked good on this hotel. It was a choice of one of our favourites World of Wonders Gumbet where we have been 3 times before or somewhere new we opted to try somewhere new. We arrived late on the day due to flight delays etc. The check in was prompt and easy good start .We had read before that most flights arrive late so you miss your 1st evening meal and that sandwiches are provided. It came to pass there were sandwiches!!! Wrapped up in cling film on the side of the bar downstairs, not really nice at all, the kind you might see in a working man’s club. You would be better popping out across the road for a kebab.

Rooms
The room was clean, spacious well laid out with a safe (you have to pay for that ) and nice we were in room 1124 I think 1st floor at the front of the hotel, it was so noisy that we went straight down stairs and asked to move. We were moved so that was nice. The hotel was to a good standard clean modern looking right on the beach, plenty of sun beds etc.

Main Restaurant

The main restaurant was on the top floor with indoor and open terrace area also. The views were really nice from there, what we found was that the evening it was hard to get a table there never seem to be any staff really focusing on that side of the service it was pretty much each man for himself. It felt like hard work at times not what you might expect from a 4* plus hotel. The food was good lots of choice even for the most picky of person.

Main Bar
The main bar area by the reception wasn't cosy, like some places we have stayed at it was very functional with a television on the wall but not inviting where you would want to sit and chat for the night. There were some other couches behind the stairs and lift but it was quiet dark around there and out the way.

Pools
There were two maim pool areas 1 noisy and partyish and the other more sedate and family orientated both were nice. The entertainment staff didn’t have a uniform just their own clothes so looked like random strangers with no name badges etc. inviting you to join into things. (If I had kids I would have worried)

We ate in the Chinese restaurant one night the food was ok not really Chinese the portion was tiny starters two tiny spring rolls we asked for more and was told NO that’s it felt a bit like Oliver Twist ! We laughed it off and then went to main restaurant.

Beach area
The beach area was small and compact there were two areas of beach, great location for water sports and just people watching while catching the rays.

Local area
The hotel was ideal for the town! It meant we could literally cross the road and go to other restaurants and pubs so we did on several occasions. We also went into Bodrum by the marina where there were lots of shops and bars the taxi was about £6.

Summary
Overall we would give the hotel 7/10 the reason for that are some staff never smiled and didn’t seem friendly, there 4 four staff I saw in the hotel who were also happy the others wasn’t.

Service wasn’t quiet on the mark in getting seated in the restaurant and getting drink brought to you! It may seem petty but it’s the little things that can make the difference. Don’t get me wrong I would go back but it wouldn’t be my first choice, if staying in the area again I would go back to the World of Wonder next door

Room Tip: Get a room to the back of the hotel not near the front over the reception. Family pool is quieter i...
