returned a week ago and can't wait to go back next year, great location very close to the beach, staff very freindly and can't do enough for you,we recommend a trip with harry on a boat around the bay's of bodrum lovely food on board and a great atmosphere, can't say thank you enough to the staff they were great ,only down side was the load music from bar street at night would recommend a down stairs apartment which overlooks the pool area.

Room Tip: ask for a apartment that overlooks the pool area, less noise at night

Just home from a week in Baba Beach Hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Very clean, nice pool and the beach is right on your doorstep. We stayed b&b and the breakfast was poor. Food at the bar was excellent and very reasonable. Our bedroom was ordinary, no balcony, no fridge and no tea/coffee making facility. Our overall experience was a very good one. A word of caution however, situated as it is, right next to Bar Street, if you're allocated a room to the front, the noise in the early hours of the morning is awful. Highlight of the week was 'Harry's boat trip', a full day away on the sea with free food and drinks, all for €20, with two free cocktails on your return to the Hotel. Fantastic value and Harry is a gentleman.

stayed here for 2 weeks - 30aug 14sep. Never again. we are a family with 2 elderly people and a young child. the first room they gave us was an upstairs one. very cramped considering we had a buggy and stairs were hard with a buggy.
Second room was a ground level one with a huge balcony. lovely BUT, we had ants in our room the whole stay even when told, they just shrugged. Our bedding was changed ONCE in the two weeks even when asked, they just turned the sheet over. the towells were changed 4 times in 2 weeks. Beds were rock hard and filthy if you looked without the sheet on.
Breakfast was your standard continental breakfast, but nice enough.
Never ate at the hotel for lunch or tea.
During the day the hotel pool was lovely and calm and quiet. BUT the whole stay, the filters never worked on the pool so with a young child who doesnt know not to close his mouth, it was a worry as it was so dirty. numerous people complained on this issue while i was there.
At night the hotel was very noisey from the karayoke bar next door and the bar street right outside the main door..
the staff at the hotel, most were rude and ignorant especially the bar staff.
we paid an extra 20pound to keep the room on til 6 on our last day, after we checked out, i remembered i had forgot a picture there, i went to reception not even an hour after check out, and he was rude and arrogant saying i shouldnt of forgot it, and that i cant go back in the room and the cleaners had took it already. yet when i walked past the room, it was in the same condition i left it in. disgusting. it would of took 2 mins for me to nip in or him to nip in and get my picture from the drawer.
This hotel is OKAY for people who want a party night and relaxing day but not suitable at all for kids under 13.

we were allocated room's 324 & 325 on arrival, very noisy at night right up until 5 a.m, we asked to be moved and this was actioned the next day, room 210 was delightful overlooking the pool area and no noise at night, perfect, the breakfast was alot to be desired and the restaurant was not very clean, this is a shame as alot could be done to this Hotel, the bar staff on the other hand were great, very accomodating and great fun.

We arrived in the early hours and shown very poor dirty and dilapidated room (321) with a view of a wall and not the pool view we had booked and paid for. Phoned Thomas Cook out of hours helpline to be told either take it or sleep on the streets! Many hotel staff informed us that Thomas Cook take the supplements but do not pass on to the hotel and they will not therefore automatically give you what you have paid for. We were eventually moved to a pool view room on the 2nd floor (205) after much argument with Thomas Cook rep who was frankly useless! The hotel compensated us with free air conditioning, safe and a late check out whilst Thomas Cook promised us a bottle of wine which we only got after two reminders on our last day! We were not the only guests who complained! BE AWARE!
The hotel staff are amazing and very friendly and the hotel is small, basic but clean and comfortable within easy reach of everything. The bar staff are good fun and seem to remember your favourite drinks! Breakfast is good and plentiful and the hotel a la carte restaurant is worth a visit as is the beach bar for food and drinks during the day. The beach is very clean and the sunbeds plentiful and comfortable. Harry runs the boat trips - well worth the £17 - and he is incredibly helpful if there are any questions.
There are a huge number of restaurants nearby - our favourites being Carpe Diem, Captains Bar, Miradon to name but a few. The Atlantis bar is lively and good fun. The Sami Beach hotel - two hotels down - provides good entertainment in the evenings.
In spite of the trauma over the room we had a brilliant holiday and would definitely return but will book direct and will NEVER use Thomas Cook again!

Room Tip: DONT BOOK THROUGH THOMAS COOK! Pool view rooms are quieter and are of a better quality. There are s...

I went The Baba Hotel for 2 weeks in August, I stayed ½ Board, in my view it is 3 star Hotel, that’s it, nothing makes it 2 start but nothing they do makes it 4 start. Apart from the location. However, i am upset at having to pay for air-con.

Gumbet, when I first went, 8 years ago was a gem. A little known place that catered for the more middle class club goers, it was not San Antonio, Ayan Appa or Magaluf. There were never herds of clubbers marauding down the streets as you see in the above party capitals and I never saw a fight or angry word.

Move to August 2013. Bar Street is still open until 4-30am, drinks are still available 24 hours and it is still outside the Euro. But what has changed over the last 8 years are the hotels. Most of the sea front ones are all inclusive. This has changed the cliental. Gone are the groups of lads and ladies, and there are more couples now.

This has not stopped the party atmosphere but it certainly has dampened it. The clubs now play a bit more Turkish music and the drinks are more expensive.

Pasha charges 10Lira for a small beer and the place reminds me of a club in Shoreditch – no one dances but everyone stands round trying to look cool, watching people who are trying to look cool. It’s quite funny.

The weather in Gumbet as always was great, I saw 2 clouds in 2 weeks. The football and cricket was plentiful and the oxymoronic “genuine fakes” are as good as ever. I bought a suit, 5 work shirts, 2 Polo shirts, 2 T-Shirts, a jumper, a hoodie, a pair of sunglasses, a sports bag and a pair of flip-flops for £250.

The hotel though as I stated is only 3 start, the rooms are clean but basic, the food is ok, the pool is fine and the wi-fi is a bit spotty. The staff are polite but they only do enough to warrant their wages, never enough in my view to get a good tip.

However, it is still Gumbet that I go to. Not the hotel. I still love the area and will be going back next year.
