My husband and I stayed here for one week on a bed and breakfast deal with Jet2 holidays. We arrived at night. The man behind the desk was nice and efficent. (Which you want late at night!). We were shown to our room on the ground floor, directly opposite the pool. The room was basic, but clean. Which we knew as we had read reviews about it. Staff were friendly. Pool area was clean and there was enough sunbeds everyday. We went in October, so it was getting towards the end of season, so hotel wasnt full. We only had breakfast a couple of days. Again basic, boiled eggs, bread, coffee, selection of meats. Drinks a little bit more expensive than some bars. Hotel was ideally located for the strip. There was hardly any noise heard from it at all. The cockrels on a mornng were a wake up call, slightly earlier than we wanted most mornings! But didnt stop us going back to sleep! All round nice place, which made a great first time visit for us to Gumbet. Yes, we would stay here again. I had loads of photos, but somehow they have been deleted! Only had 2 on my phone!

Rooms a bit dated but adequate. Location very good. Close to all amenities and beach. Staff friendly and helpful, good value for money. Will definitely be using hotel again on a round trip next year. Shame breakfast is only continental. Maybe more english tv channels and a kettle and cups in room.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with poolside view and balcony

this hotel would have scored a higher had it not being for our first night and day experience.
on arrival at about 9 pm we were checked in and shown to our room. a small dark room with no balcony. I immediately returned to reception and declined the room as it was not what we booked. The receptionist said there was nothing he could do? and told us not to unpack as they would move us first thing the next morning.
Next morning at reception, nothing they could do until 1pm, 1pm nothing they could do until 2pm,
2pm told to come back at 3pm, we were then taken to our new room and had to stand waiting in the corridor for 15 mins until the cleaner had finished.
We wasted one full day of a seven day holiday.
now we know that these things can happen but in relaying our experience to other guests it became apparent that this was not a one off. 3 or 4 other guests had had exactly the same experience. the hotel were obviously doing this deliberately.
the Travel Rep stated that they did no commission rooms without balconies and they would take it up with the hotel. yes yes anything to shut us up.
the new room was fine, the staff friendly, room cleaned every day and situated in the heart of resort. shame we lost a day.

location of hotel good. We checked in at 4pm and our room was ready but friends had to wait and their room still wasn't ready at 7pm on arrival date. Eventually gave them another room which was filthy. The shower screen in bathroom was black with soap scum. Both my room and friends bathrooms weren't cleaned properly all week. Pillow was like a brick and mattresses very hard. Would not stay there again. Have been going to Gumbet for about 10 years and have stayed in basic hotels but at least they have been clean. If you go to this hotel do not let them put you in block H. kids pool green slime on bottom. Never seen either pool getting cleaned or treated. Cats drank out of them all the time.

Room Tip: don't book

We arrived at the Hotel Bagevleri quite late in the evening and were very weary travellers and all we wanted was food and bed. The following morning we were able to inspect the rooms a little more thoroughly. The beds were changed regularly, but the pillows and mattress' were rock hard. The bathroom was small and adequate but not particularly clean, I cleaned the wash basin and taps before using it. The shower was nothing more than a trickle, although my parents in laws, who were in the room above us had a shower like a power shower. The shower cubicle was filthy with mildew around the base of the shower and on the shower doors, there was also a screw sticking out of the shower wall, point side out, presumably where a shelf had been originally. There was no ventilation in the bathroom, there was a louvre window but the shower had been constructed over it so it wouldn't open and the bathroom smelt really quite nasty, all of the time. Towels were changed regularly, about every other day, but some times we'd only get two towels instead of two bath and two hand towels so we'd have to raid the linen cupboard! We were on the ground floor overlooking the pool, which was quite nice but we couldn't leave our door or window open onto the balcony as anyone could have leapt over the small wall into our room. The door lock on the door out to the balcony was a bit dodgy and we sometimes struggled to lock and unlock it. The room was not very clean and my Mother-in-Law wrote 'Clean Me' in the dust on the side and there wasn't much in the way of storage, particularly drawers. We didn't get too much sleep due to the bars on the Main Street playing loud music until about 2 or 3 in the morning and the cockerel crowing at 5 each morning and on the one evening there was a local wedding and the music was very, very loud and monotonous. One song went on for over 20 minutes and the drum beat was incessant. If you do opt to stay here, you will need to pay for the air con, but get the price from the girls on reception and not the guy and don't let them put you in (CELL) block H!! Breakfast was pretty basic but nice, eggs, tomatoes, cucumber, fresh bread, choice of jam or honey, fresh melon, very sweet orange juice, coffee, tea or just hot water, lots of the regulars bought their own mugs and tea and coffee from home and used the hot water and milk. If you enjoy spicy meat then you'll enjoy the slices of meat, personally the only reason I had any was to feed the cats, particularly the little 3 legged white and ginger kitten. We also ate there most lunch times and the snacks were really nice and the drinks were generous and plentiful. The staff are lovely, really helpful and friendly apart from the guy who was on reception when we arrived; he spoke to us as if we were children but he was only there occasionally and the girls in Reception were so friendly and helpful. The public areas; pool, bar and restaurant were all really nice, however we didn't see the pool being cleaned at all and my Mother-in-Law said the small pool had got slime in it, not very hygienic. We did enjoy our stay but not because of the hotel but because we spent time on the beach and ate at the Columbia, where the steaks were delicious. I don't think we'll bother staying here again but will definitely give Gumbet another go.

Room Tip: Don't let them put you in block H. I don't think it matters where you are to avoid the crowi...
