“once again a lovely friendly experience”
Reviewed 16 July 2012

this was our second visit to the serhan, when we arrived we were welcomed with open arms, we were shown to our rooms which were decorated with fresh cut flowers and swans made from the towels. there was lots of new staff this year but all very friendly and helpful and we had a laugh with all of them. the hotel is kept spotless and towels and bedding changed evey 3 days, the pool is small but also spotless the breakfast is same everyday but its good for continental you can pay and have a full cooked english if you wish. i see people eating this and it looked really good, the location of the hotel is perfect and in easy reach of everything,
thanks to all the staff and management for making our holiday so perfect,
see you in september

Just returned from this fab holiday!!l We stayed 1-8 July. Lovely small, friendly hotel in a PERFECT location. 2 mins stroll to the beach. (Walk out of the front of the hotel and take first right, down to the beach, nice little shops on your right) Its a 5 mins walk to bar street, but far enough away not to hear music at night. Loads of lovely restaurants all around you. Pool is fairly small but immaculately clean as was the entire hotel. Also always able to get a sunbed at the pool and there were 9 of us!! Plenty of shaded seating both front and back of hotel to eat breakafast /other meals, also cool indoor eating areas. Pool table in bar area. Rooms are variable, we had 5 of them. our room 201 was perfect. Some larger than others, but all clean and cleaned regularly. Staff are fantastic, so friendly and helpful, also speak good english. Gem is a lovely guy. Also you can have a laugh with the hotel staff. Breakfast ok. Plenty of fresh bread, eggs, omelettes, usual meats and cheeses, greek yoghurt, fresh jams, marmalades etc, tea and coffee.Cook available at a small charge. Good cooked brekkie next door too for 6 lira (£2 !) Usually never return to the same place twice, but for a family holiday (we ranged from 16-63) this was absolutely perfect. We will go back next year, as something for everyone and very safe area and beach absolutely beautiful. The water is shallow for a long way out and like a mill pond. Free sunbeds at the beach, all owned by the beach bars behind them. Just buy drinks from them -ROYS BAR was great, first bar you come to as you get to the beach. Fab food, amazing staff!! Have a great time. Would recommend to anyone!

Room Tip: we were in 201 which was perfect. Quiet and large and ground floor. There are no lifts, so request a...

we stayed at this hotel in june 2012 half board, when we arrived we were shown to our room the room seemed quite clean but when we looked in the bathroom we got a shock the shower cubicle door was that small if you had a waist more than 28 inc your not getting in ,but in all honesty after we told management were changed to another room .towels are changed every 3rd day if your lucky if you require them changed more frequent you pay £2 each item ,the food set menu basis so what you had on your first week you will get the same next week ,the waiters are all very polite and they all work very hard the only real problem is the rooms were not cleaned very often and bed linen was only changed once a week within our stay just remember that you are quite near bar street and come 1am it goes into party mode and goes on till 4am in the morning take ear plugs if your a light sleeper, the beach is a 10min walk from hotel were you will find restaurants and bars we recommend roys bar and the windy bay restaurant for a quality steak at a very reasonable price.

Having just styaed at the hotel serhan for 10 days, we were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The room was spacious, had flat screen tv and air con. Bar staff were fantastic as were hotel management BUT be aware. Please make sure you get a safety deposit box. Having our room cleaned on our second day (4.30pm), we had to sit on the balcony til the cleaner was finished, after this day the cleaners turned up later and later. When i asked them to come back in the morning - they didn't understand. on the 6th day of our holiday, i had had enough of washing with dirty towels and complained to reception that the cleaners were coming far to late (6.30pm) and that i wanted them to come in the morning. I didn't think this was an unreasonable request as it is not a big hotel and at half six at night most people like to be having a shower / rest from the sun before they hit the bars at night. So after complaing, we did get our room cleaned but alson had money stolen from us as well. So as before, if you are gonna complain about te lack of cleaning staff make sure you have a safety deposit box. That was the only bad point of this hotel. Pity the cleaning staff let the hotel down.

Myself, my husband and both sets of parents stopped at The Serhan Hotel from the 23rd June to the 7th July 12. This is the second time we have stopped at this hotel.

Reception in open 24/7 and the Bar can be opened on request (e.g. Late flight arrivals wanting refreshments) All Three rooms were decorated differently but were all very large & spacious. The rooms have Hairdryers in the Bathroom and T.V's. I would like to point out a previous review that complained about the shower cubicles being too small, All three rooms had different sized shower cubicles and none of our party (ranging from a size 8 to 20) had any problems getting in and out of them. I think if you struggle to get into the shower cubicles then you should maybe look a bit closer to home than complain about this hotel. You will probably find that there is no plug in the sink, this is because in Turkey they use flowing water to clean & shave, hense not having plugs. All Three men in our party didn't complain and said you easily adapt to their way of life. All the rooms are facing the pool so no need to put special requests when booking. Beds are made and bins are changed every day, Towels & bedding are changed every 3rd day but you can request fresh towels etc daily at £2 for each item.

The food at the Hotel was excellent, Breakfast is a traditional Turkish breakfast: Omelette, Boiled eggs, bread, sliced meat, jams, cucumbers, tomatoes, cheese, honey spread, chocolate spread, cheese spread. They do a Full English Breakfast which is really nice and costs around 10tl (approx £3-£4) The Steaks are amazing 12-14oz with not a single bit of fat served with Chips & Rice for around £10 you can't really complain.

The staff at this Hotel give 100% they work around 70 hours a week with only 1 day off a month yet cannot do enough for you. They are so friendly and welcoming and all speak very good English.

Air conditioning costs approx £35 per week & a Safety deposit box costs 30 turkish lira for one week & 50tl for two.

There are alot of Dutch, Turkish and English people that stay at this hotel. It is about a 5 minute walk to both the Beach & Bar street (Walk down the side of Magnific Hotel for the Beach and straight up the hill for bar street. You can hear the music until the early hours of the morning (Tip: Shut air vents in the bathroom and keep all doors shut, this is help with the noise) noone had problems sleeping so if it does concern you I wouldnt worry to much about it.

Whilst we were there we celabrated my Father in Laws 60th Birthday. The staff at the hotel suprised him with a huge chocolate cake full of sparklers and candles, balloons, banners and sang happy birthday to him and also set two floor fireworks off around him which was lovely!!

Hopefully we will visit The Serhan Hotel in another Year or so but for anyone who is going or thinking about going you will have an amazing time!

Places to go:
Dreamgirls (Adult, Family and OTT drag act)

Kos for the Day (If you go, visit the castle first as they close it at 2:30, you don't get very long there but for around £13 for the ferry with return its worth it! also this gives you a larger allowance for bringing back tabacco, cigerettes and alcohol. Word of warning **Do not wait till you are at duty free in Bodrum airport to stock up on your allowance they charge 30 euros for a packet of golden verginia but at the Turkish Harbour the price for the same weight is about 17 euros.)

Daily Boat Trips: The boat trips are a must, the places they take you are amazing, I recommend The Baba Hotel (Harrys Boat Trip) they will not let on no more than 40 passengers onboard, No word of a lie a lot of the other boats take double and overcrowed them, This is not safe and also you will not be able to sun bath as there is a limited area in the sun the rest is shaded.

Places to eat, I'd recommend:
Annaliva - Irish Owned and Managed Turkish restaurant. Huge selection of foods resonably priced and very very tasty!

The Windmill Restaurant - Beautiful views lovely atmospire and very nice food. One tip though, on our last day we went and were offered a refreshing strawberry cocktail. We accepted then found them on our bill at 15tl each, we couldnt argue because they didnt say they were free, but the way they offer them to you gives you the impression they are.

Bombay Cottage - Indian Restaurant - Excellent all you can eat buffet at £10 a head, This restaurant is set above some shops and bars (Next to the Outback pub)

Just returned from a week at The Serhan.

£123 for a week bed and breakfast, for 2 people!

The pool area was clean and very good for relaxing around in the day time. Our room (301) was big enough with twin beds and a decent size bathroom. The TV also picked up a few UK programmes.

The staff could not do enough to help, without being overly pushy. There is a 'No food or drink from outside' rule, but it isn't really enforced too strictly. We bought Fanta for the room and water for beside the pool most days without anyone ever taking issue.

The food served from the A La Carte menu was also reasonably priced and very good portions too.

There is a very mixed clientele of Europeans and Turkish, both younger and older. Though I wouldn't say the area as a whole was quiet. If you are noise sensitive it may not be the place for you as Bar St is only 5 minutes away and the noise carries. It is made better if you purchase A/C (charged separately) so you can keep the windows and doors closed, though our quite well shaded room didn't really need it.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a clean and inexpensive place to stay.
