“Nice clean hotel- Gumbet however....”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 June 2013

Myself and my friend have just returned from a two week stay at this hotel. We were half board and whilst other than our room we didnt spend a great deal of time at the hotel or bar, were impressed with many aspects. Firstly the hotel looks beautiful with surrounding greenary. The room was spacious enough for two, with suitable storage and all basic ammenities. We had a couple of problems, a broken fridge and a mattress too hard to sleep on, the staff however were quick to fix these issues for us.

One of the things admired most about this hotel was the cleanliness. The staff were meticulous in both cleaning the room and the pool surrounds every day. The staff for the most part were helpful and friendly (particularly the young girl with the long dark curly hair)

The food was edible for the most part. Ive had better and would reiterate the point others have made that it became repetitive and the same food on occasion appeared reheated from an earlier meal. We didnt spend a great deal of time here as previously mentioned as there is no entertainment however this wasnt a problem for us (they never advertised that they provided this so dont understand how others can complain with so many other bars nearby)

We would highly recommend a visit to the in hotel spa for a turkish bath and massage. Best one i have experienced.

The location initially was a great bonus away from the noise of the bars but close enough to walk to. Sami beach is recommended for great entertainment, on bar street Why Not is a great chill out bar with some really friendly staff. Also cant recommend enough the Dreamgirls show on at the theatre. Bodrum is a short bus journey away and is great for a day trip for some nice sites and shopping.

Sadly this is where the cons come in.The location whilst away from the noise also requires a walk either along a roadside or along an unlit path past a basketball court which is unsafe. Gumbet is unkempt, areas of the beach are filthy but the biggest con? the Turkish men. Having holidayed in Turkey before i am shocked that this is not being governed more. Harassing is common in Turkey and we expected this with shops bars etc however this was beyond shocking. Some of the bar staff as well as random Turkish men in the street approached us, followed us, put their hands on us and made us feel uncomfortable as we tried to enjoy nights out in the bars and clubs with other staff rarely getting involved to deal with this. Heaven forbid you be nice to any of them cause it appears they read this as an invite for sex. Not every one of them is like this however and some staff spoke to us about how fed up they are of it, as well as some helping us when we were being harassed but it is unbareable and tarnished what should have been a great holiday.

Really liked the hotel but would not return to Gumbet unless the government and bar owners get this sorted. Would only recommend a holiday here for large groups which include males. Four stars for the hotel but overall 3 stars for the holiday

We stayed here for 14 nights from the 3rd June 2013 The hotel was great the staff were polite and helpful. The room which was on the ground floor over looking the pool was clean and well presented (not enough coat hangers though). Our only two niggles are the food was not replenished fast enough and the beach associated with the hotel was dirty and covered with glass, fag ends and bits of wood with nails in, hence we didn't use the beach. Apart from that we had a great two weeks and would use this hotel again.

Room Tip: I would recommend the ground floor over looking the poole

I have just come back from here, the food was all Turkish Cuisine so it was not suitable for all and definitely NOT for children.
The staff were all really pleasant.
The rooms were clean but not very big.
They do not have ANY entertainment so if you were expecting not to have to go out you will be disappointed.
This was most definitely NOT a hotel for children or teenagers.
They do NOT have a courtesy room, so if your flight is late you do need to extend your room, the prices seemed to vary

We got a great deal booking this hotel and for what we paid for 10 nights all inclusive, it really wasn't much more than bed and breakfast prices. However if you like it lively with British food it is NOT the place for you....

The hotel itself is a lovely quiet place to stay, with a great pool area and gardens. The rooms are very clean and spacious but the balconies are rather small. The hotel has a section of beach 2 minutes walk away but it isn't the best stretch. This didn't bother us as we prefer the comforts of the pool. All of the staff were very efficient and polite. I would say that the hotel is mainly aimed at couples and there is not enough going on for children.

The food is typically Turkish. Breakfast is: salamis, cheeses, salads, boiled eggs, breads etc, so if you like your full English you'll have to visit one of the nearby bars. For the lunches and evening meals there are soups, a meat / fish dishes, rice, pasta, potatoes, salads. Once again, not everyone's first choice. There is also a small selection of sweets.

The bar is open from 11am to 11pm serving; lager, wine, raki, gin and vodka along with soft drinks. If you want brandy or whisky these are not part of the all inclusive. There was no entertainment while we were there, which meant that we went out after the evening meal. Plenty of people did stay and enjoyed chatting to other guests.

The resort of Gumbet was really nice with a long stretch of beach and many bars and restaurants. We visited Bodrum, (dolmus stops right outside the hotel) and this cost 3 Lira. Well worth the trip.

We also went on a boat trip, which we booked at Uncle Festers bar. We got a great deal: For 55 Lira (under £20) we had a fully cooked English breakfast at Uncle Festers. We then had a free transfer to the boat. We visited 4 stops and lunch was included. The scenery was gorgeous and we had dive stops - amazing! In the evening we were picked up and taken back to Uncle Festers for a meal. We could chose any starter and main course....All for £20!!!!!

We also had some great karaoke nights at the Sami Beach Bar where the excellent Ali Baba was compare for the night! The guy has soooooooooooo much energy!!!!!

We also dined at the Columbian Steak Restaurant where we had some of the best steaks ever!! They have really great meal deals which also include fish, chicken and pizza.

All in all for what we paid I feel that we got a great deal....We had the best of both worlds, using the hotel facilities, eating and drinking during the day and going out in the evenings. It really does depend what you want from your hotel and an all inclusive package. I would definitely recommend the Hotel Club Flora for a stay in Gumbet.

We had a week stay here at hotel flora during mid may 2013. The hotel was very spacious with a nice pool and restaurant. The rooms were of good size with adequate space with nice clean on suite during our stay. The air con unit was fully functional throughout the week which provided me a with a very cool night and a lovely sleep. The shower was very powerful also.

The pool outside was not the biggest but enough for a afternoon swim in the heat. There is a bar there which i dint use.

I tried to use the turkish massage which is slightly hidden towards the far end and down some stairs, however every time i attempted to to have one no one was at reception. This happened on 3 occasions in the end i just gave up.

The only thing negative i would say is the breakfast in the morning. I had it on the first day as it was all inclusive however the choice was so limited, ended up having some bread and a tea. Opted to have a breakfast out every day for a few lira more.

All in all a excellent hotel.

P,S avoid mira luna next door. Checked in to there accidentally and what a shock. was so relived when i found out it was the wrong hotel.

We had breakfast each morning which is Traditional turkish breakfast which we found to be ok.. Dining room was very clean. We ate in restaurant one night but not overley impressed..
The gumbet area seemed ok although not many shops or restaurants open due to end of season can imagine it being nice during height of season,we went to bodrum on dolmus most days and found more going on
