We stayed at WOW Bodrum for 10 days traveling with Thomas Cook at the end of June. Firstly don't be put off by the bad reviews- you can't please all of the people all of the time!
Check in was very fast and efficient- we even had our bags/cases taken to our room for us.
The rooms were fine, we had seen the pictures so knew what to expect but we did see rooms that looked recently renovated and much better than ours. They were clean an had nearly everything we needed. The mini bar does only have one of each beverage but we went to the relax pool bar and got ourselves a few extra beers to put in the mini bar. The safe is great and free of charge, the shower is great. The only downfall would be the bath needed replacing and there was no iron.
All of the outside areas were spotless, including the beach and the pool, there was a team continuously cleaning these areas.
The food was good in all restaurants, the Turkish being our favourite. We found that some of the people we were speaking to were unaware that you can eat in the la carte restaurants at lunch time (12-4 or 12-5) as many times as you want no booking required! The food in all of the la carte is next to none!
The entertainment was hit and miss, the Sunday night band are worth a watch, they even managed a request for me!
If you want to spend your day relaxing without and hassle then go to the relax pool, plenty of beds and very peaceful.
We went to Gumbet and Bodrum markets, we caught the dolmus in to Bodrum, 3TL and it drops you right in the centre, it's a green mini bus and you just wait outside the hotel, the driver will beep and you jump on. We also went on a Segway tour around Bodrum, 2 and a half hours and it was fantastic! We even went up to the windmills that are visible from the hotel. We enjoyed the water sports on the beach but make sure you bargain Tony down, by a package of 3 it works out much cheaper.
Guest relations are fantastic they were able to answer all of our questions and even provided scales so we could weigh our cases.
We eat at the Shanghai restaurant in town twice, both times we had fantastic meals.
Be careful when shopping as we bought shoes and we've just discovered they've given us 2 left feet! Also if you buy any perfume check they've given you the one that they showed you, they often show you something and put a different product in the bag!
Gumbet is loud of a night but after 2 nights we didn't notice it.
The balcony off the 24 hour bar is a beautiful place to sit of a night.
Overall worth every penny!

This hotel has everything, swimming pools - a quiet pool for a relaxing, a general pool for all the family and also a giant pool slide. It has it's own beach area. Food was great. All inclusive makes things so much easier. Spa facilities good also, although beware of them trying to sell you extra treatments during your booked treatment. Staff all really helpful and pleasant. Rooms clean and tidy (although we did have a problem with ants in the bathroom but not a major issue). Make sure you book a room away from the pool area if you want to have some peace in the mornings. The noise from the clubs in Gumbet (which is a short 10-15 min walk from hotel or 5 min taxi ride) can be heard in the distance until about 4am so if you are a light sleeper beware.
Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room away from the pool with a sea view.

I have today returned from our third consecutive visit to Bodrum/Gumbet. We travelled with two friends who had not visited this hotel previously.

We originally stayed at the WOW resort in June 2012 with two adult children. It is fair to say we were completely blown away by everything this hotel has to offer for all ages.

In 2013 we were unsuccessful in reserving a booking at this hotel so stayed at a different hotel along the beach, which was not a patch on WOW resort.

So this year we booked early to ensure we were successful in staying at the location.

Since the original stay many areas have been refurbished, which is all very positive.

The hotel is situated in an excellent location to Gumbet. Not too close to nightlife but a pleasant stroll along the beach takes you to shops, bars and restaurants if you wish to venture out.

The quality of food is fantastic. There are four restaurants to chose from plus a cook your own BBQ on the beach in the evening. All food at each restaurant offered numerous choices and caters for all cultures and taste. Food and drink is available pretty much 24/7, with the main lobby bar serving late into the night.

The animation team work hard to entertain guests of all nationalities. There is an ampi-theatre for all evening shows, followed by further entertainment at the Windmill bar.

The positives overall are:
Central location
Private beach
Staff very friendly and helpful
Quality of food
Cleanliness in all locations
On-site spa and hairdressers
Caters for families with kids club and activities (although not experienced first hand)
Short bus ride away from Bodrum for nice marina area

Areas that would benefit from improvements:
Some rooms are tired and dated. Last year 160 rooms were refurbished and we did witness lots of new beds being delivered to many rooms. Bathrooms were tired and dated, although showers were excellent.
Carpet in bedrooms very worn, tiled floors in refurbished rooms looked much better
On-site shop had very rude woman who offended my husband and our friend whom we travelled with.

This hotel is a favourite hotel for our family and I will be looking to book for 2015 bringing our children and grand-children next year.

I personally recommend this hotel to both couples and families.

We recently stayed at WOW. Overall, the experience was more than satisfactory. Great location, hop on a shuttle bus and you find yourself downtown Bodrum in 20+ minutes. Great food, most of the staff was very friendly-some could smile more! Our room was clean, the furniture was old but in good shape. My only feedback would be around beverages, unfortunately the selection was very poor and the bar staff wasn't knowledgeable. For instance a margarita was only available in the lobby bar and when enjoying the pool, it was super inconvenient to go to the lobby bar-not to mention the need to change due to the dress code.

Special thanks to the entertainment team; they were very professional, friendly and fun. They did an excellent job!!

WIll definitely stay again next year and plan on bringing some friends from Canada.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 3rd floor have better view and privacy in the balcony. It's a big resort, stay cl...

We went to WOW Bodrum in June 2012 and we were over the moon. We stayed for 2 weeks and paid around £700 each including flights. Staff were amazing and so attentive. Food although not 5* is more than acceptable and you would be happy with it from a restaurant. Entertainment pretty good and facilities are great. We liked the adult pool as it was a lot quieter than the main pool.

Spa was a bad experience though. Girlfriend and I decided to have a couples massage and asked for her to have a female masseuse. We arrived and it was two blokes who decided to speak to each other in Turkish which was unprofessional as we had no idea what they were talking about. Afterwards the guy that had sold us the service was very rude. Asking us how it was he decided to ask my Girlfriend and I about how many sexual partners we had and other just as inappropriate questions. Not good.

Beach party was amazing and the crazy ice cream lady was awesome.

Overall for a cheap amazing holiday this is the place to be!!!

Stayed for a week at the end of June, Location is around the bay about 20 minutes walk from the centre of Gumbet, which is a good thing. I saw other hotels closer to the centre and would not like to stay there. Gumbet is very tacky. Plenty of "Dolmus" buses stop outside for Gumbet and Bodrum. There was some noise on some nights from a club a fair distance away (so god only knows what it must be like inside it) into the small hours that could be heard inside the room. A light sleeper might find this a problem.

Layout of the hotel is on many levels, with reception being the highest and the remainder below this. There are lifts, but they only seem to go down two levels then you have to walk to another one. There are many steep slopes and steps so if you aren't mobile I would suggest mentioning this when booking as there are rooms where one lift would get you from reception to the pool to the restaurant. Our room was 5433. That area had attractive terraces of two storey blocks going down to the beach. The alleyways between these blocks were beautiful, full of flowers and trees. Just before we travelled, I emailed asking for a nice room, we were given a top floor room which gave us a view of the bay above the blocks below. So I would suggest asking for a top floor if you don't mind the stairs. The rooms were fine, clean, spacious, usual gripes about the bathroom grouting being a bit discoloured but no real problems. Balcony door seemed a little insecure. safe was 50 euro deposit which was returnable, so free safe, unlike many other hotels. Air con was great.

Restaurants were average. The main buffet restaurant had a vast selection of cold food but I thought the hot selection could have been greater. Good quality though. There are 3 a la carte ones on site but as a veggie, I found them a bit too "meaty" so only used the Italian one at lunch for a snack, which was a Margerita Pizza that had no tomato topping and a nice salad with a live caterpillar.

Plenty of things to do in the hotel, massive main pool that got a little noisy at times, but a great "relax" pool tucked away at one end, very quiet. Always able to get beds any time, although the best locations went first. The private beach is quite poor, dirty gritty sand, with more sunbeds and even beds on a jetty that stick out into the bay. Good water park on site with two large slides, only open two hours either side of lunch.

Entertainment was above average. The team work very hard, and some of the nightime acts were very good. These could be near the pool or in a large amphitheatre. "Let the sunshine in.....". Staff were very friendly, and the other guests are from all over Europe and the middle east so you will get people pushing in front of you. Numerous bars throughout for just sitting and people watching. Drinks were reasonable quality. Don't miss the beach party with foam.

Outside, be prepared to be pestered outside the shops like you have never been pestered before, and the weekly Bodrum market is another level again, we ended up walking out of it. Why, why oh why don't they realise that if they leave you alone to browse and label their goods with realistic prices, us Brits are more likely to buy!!!

Room Tip: Top floors of blocks 51XX to 56XX have good seas views. Don't miss the relax pool.

We've been there from June20~26
1) It's a huge hotel with various interesting places.
2) Our checkin was fast and easy. We where guided by the polite and kind staff, and the boy carrying our baggage was also so helpful and polite. Generally the first minutes in the hotel made us feeling comfortable.
3) By first views in the rooms you can find that the hotel is old. But the room, bathroom and the bed were clean, seaview as we requested.
We was there as our honeymoon and the hotels was made some flower designs on the bed, adding some nuts, fruits and a bottle white wine to our room services and leaving two nice mugs as a gift. We had one room delivered breakfast.
4) Minibar containing cola, beer, water and two other softdrinks. charged daily.
5) A fair size balcony. A non-digital free safebox
6) LCD, Toilet table, small table and some other normal furnitures
7) The general plan of the hotel is really interesting and beautiful. Bodrum type buildings (White two floors), nice flowers on the walls with fantastic aroma at nights, and attractive passages.
8) The foods and drinks was great. A main restaurant, three alacarte restaurants (we had one night of each, included in our All Inclusive package). Three snackbars whith mentioned hours in the hotels infobook. Snackbars has of course very fewer choices than the main restaurant but each of them can meet a full lunch.
The main restaurant gives a fairly wide range of choice with different starters, main course, desserts and drinks.
There were a snack bar beside the main pool containing mainly cookies, cakes, a light hot snack, salads and tea.
Also there were icecreams served at the same hours as snackbar.
There are mainly three bars serving drinks, two at both sides of the main pool serving various alcoholic and soft drinks, and another on the beach which it's alcoholic drinks was restricted to beers. Need to mention that the staff at the restaurants and bars, was also very helpful and polite.
The main restaurant has tables both inside and outside with pool view.
9) The entertainers working mainly beside the main pool and the WindmillBar, (And the beach as volleyball arrangers) was energetic and almost able to make a happy atmosphere.
10) The language skills of the hotel staff was generally average, some of the waiters, some barmen and most of the housekeeping guys had very poor english.
11) At night there were some events beside the Windmill bar. The showman mostly talks in turkish and just some of his words was followed by a poor english translation of him.
12) The nonmotorized water sports was free but needs the license (Which they also could have courses and give the license in 3 hours by 150TL)
The motorized watersports was Jetski, Parasailing and some similar stuff all pulled by the boat.
13) The are some tents at the far side of the hotel's beach which was excluded of the package and had extra charge.
14) There where two simple waterslides beside the beach.
15) Neglecting very few bottles, the beach was clean.
16) In the last day we took two towels from the beach TowelBoy (As we did every elese day) but the towels were dirty. That was the most crowded day of our stay. It seems that towel services needs more supervision or more staff.
17) The main con of the hotel is the very slow reactions to room service requirements. Our telephones asking some simple things such as shampoo or bodylotions, was reacted averagely in 2 hour.

Room Tip: Some seaview rooms has doors to the main pool. For some it may be a con and for some a pro. The upp...
