I was at siesta last yeae with my family, came back again this year, I could not have asked for a better holiday! The hotel is amazing, the top and bottom bar staff and waiters are the most friendliest people you could ever meet! They made my nights at the bar fantastic! The receptionists were very helpful if I needed anything aswell! Lovely and amazing guys!

Just come back from a week here with my boyfriend. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. All the staff at the Siesta were extremely warm and welcoming. The facilities, although a little basic (ie- we did not have a toaster, knives were a little blunt) was everything we expected from our budget. Everywhere in the hotel was clean, the bathroom was lovely (huge shower) and the view from my balcony was nice too! The situation of the hotel is at the end of the bay, yet in 10 minutes you find yourself in the center of Gumbet. This, for a young couple like ourselves, was wonderful. It meant that we had a few quiet nights where we had dinner by the beach, then the rest we walked into the center and went to the lively bars and clubs. All along the beach front outside of the hotel are delicious restaurants with local fish and kebabs. A couple of nights we would have something to eat at the bay, then come back to the hotel for drinks. The bar had a really nice atmosphere; a couple of nights a week they have entertainment, for the rest the bar staff were the entertainment. Yet, they didn't intrude like some places. If we decided to sit at the back and play cards or watch the football (world cup - don't judge) they left us to our own devices, just checking in now and again to make sure we had a drink. The staff really make the hotel, any complaints or concerns and the staff sort it out for you. A couple of times we bumped into the bar staff outside of our hotel, he still came over and said hi. Seems like they really wanted us to enjoy our holiday.
To summarize, the situation of the hotel was perfect for us. The atmosphere of the hotel is lively - not just for young couples, there were families, older couples, groups etc too. Although the facilities in our accommodation were a little basic, its what i expected in comparison to what i paid for the holiday. So yeah, i can see why people go back to this place year on year.

Yet again we have had a wonderful time at the Siesta. Despite being under new management since the last time we visited, its nice to see that things have not changed too much and the same facilities are available. The only downside to our holiday was the slight noise from the building work at the hotel next door but one which is being expanded and refurbed, but thats hardly the fault of the Siesta management. Staff as friendly as ever, service as attentive, turkish bath as relaxing (shame to see the girls from the past few years no longer work there though as my kids loved Lily), and food as tasty. Nice touch with the hairdresser guy occupying the wasted space under the stairs by the shop, my daughters both had something done with their hair while we were there. The photographer from the Siesta now works next door at the Tropicana and came over to chat with us as he recognised us from previous visits and couldn't believe how much the kids have grown. It's the little things like this that make me love this resort. I know that every place has its down sides like the harassment for restaurant visits and to get you to pop in a shop and so on, but in the main the people really are genuinely lovely and friendly and it makes the holiday memorable rather than just a holiday. During this years visit my youngest learned to swim in the pool by the Dolphin bar, so now both of my kids have thrown off their armbands in that pool. It's lovely to have memories like that which will stay with them forever. We may not be back next year (the dreaded Year 5 for my eldest to no holidays during term time to affect Senior School applications!) but we shall definitely be back. If you're after a family holiday slightly away from the main buzz of the town but still within walking distance and a bit of life to it, then this is the place for you. Perfectly situated at the end of a quiet dirt street (minimal traffic) and literally 11 steps from the hotel exterior onto the sandy beach, with 2 great sized pools and lounging areas, one at the top of the hotel and one at the bottom by the beach, both with bars and restaurants. We get mocked something fierce for going back to the same hotel every time we visit the area, but honestly, if you've found somewhere you love, why would you try somewhere else and chance it not being as good? Love it here :-)

Firstly we did not even get a rep with us on the bus to the hotel and the bus driver took us the longest way possible and getting lost to our hotel. when we got to hotel no welcome from any staff, receptionists seemed moody and just wanted to rush you into your room. our room was lovely spacious but few downsides: 1 no safe in room you have to pay for it and it's in the reception area so it's big hassle. 2 have to pay an extortionate price for the air con which is only in the bedroom. 3 we had a problem with our bathroom, when showering the water was not being drained properly but was flooding the whole bathroom. complained several times but always was told it would be fixed but never was. they don't speak much English so did not understand. eventually got moved rooms but the second rooms bathroom was also flooding from the room above, the roof was green as you could see soaking wet plaster board- again nothing done about it. very unsafe.
tried to find rep on site several times to discuss this issue but never there. friendliness of staff was very poor. On return we had no rep on the bus again.
Poor Show overall from siesta beach will not be returning and poor show from Thomas cook and their reps.
