Me and my Mum have just come back and had a nice time. We paid around £265 each which included transfers. The rooms are very basic but very clean. All the rooms have a nice terrace area which overlooks the pool. There was plenty of room for the clothes maiden. We had breakfast every morning which suited us (coffee, cereals, bread, juice etc.) The lady who does all the cleaning is such a lovely person. Every morning she would come and say good morning to us. She is a credit to this hotel with her freindliness and none stop cleaning. The hotel is situated up a steep hill which we didnt mind and it is away from all the noise from the main streets. We went on a boat trip which we booked at 'Leos bar' (£10) it was more of a relaxed trip than most with limited numbers on the boat. We ate out every night in Gumbet and Bodrum. Our favourite places were Seray Zetas and Divers Garden restaurant. We found a lovely restaurant in Bodrum in a court yard tucked away from the main streets. We prefered the beach at Bitez so we walked it there and back on 3 days.It was a nice walk (around 30mins) and the beach is less crowded with some lovely places to eat and chill out. This was our first time in Gumbet and would definatley come back and stay at the Jarra.

After reading some of these reviews I was a little bit worried about the hotel, but it turned out to be lovely! Quite basic, but everything you need.

There were always staff around - the owner introduced himself to use on the first day. We had a few problems with plumbing but they were dealt with immediately. Air conditioning was charged at £5 per day (we tried to do without but it was far too hot at night) and a safe was 2 Euros per day.

The cleaning lady is great, doesn't speak English but will have a laugh and smile every time she sees you. The rooms were cleaned every day except Sunday and sheets and towels changed twice in a week.

It was quite quiet and there were always sunbeds available by the pool. We had breakfast a few days which was OK, and my friends had a meal one lunch time which they said was good. Everything was reasonably priced.

It takes about 5 minutes to walk to the top of the main street (Bar Street) where there are loads of bars, shops and restaurants. It's a further 10 minute walk to the beach where there are nicer restaurants (the best ones we found were part of hotels). There's always something going on.

Recommended trips are the waterpark and a boat trip. Turkish baths are lovely, best to have them at the start of your holiday and most places in town will do them free if you book something else with them. You can have massages after the bath - we paid about £20 for a half hour full body massage. We also went to the foam party at Halikarnas in Bodrum, which is definitely a night to remember!

Would definitely stay here again, had a fantastic holiday.

I arrived early morning to a very unfriendly welcome which didn't improve.
The room I was shown had a balcony which was completely overgrown with plants - it was impossible to see anything from it. By day it didn't get any sun (or daylight) and by night it attracted every mosquito in Gumbet! I asked to be moved to another appartment and was told "later".
That evening I reminded the extremly rude and unhelpful receptionist, (who I understand is the owners daughter) about my move and was informed that no other rooms in the hotel were available. I found this difficult to believe as there were only myself and 2 other guests in the hotel. This for me just summed up their general attitude and unfriedlyness
The bar and restaurant were closed although they did manage to provide a Turkish breakfast every morning. But they didn't go out to buy the bread until you were actually sat at the table waiting for breakfast to be served. If you wanted milk with your coffee it was powdered!!
The cleanliness also let the hotel down. During the week I stayed my room was cleaned once and the waste bin was only emptied once and the towels and bedding were not changed.
The hotel could have huge potential but the attitude of the staff especially the receptionist and the lack of cleaning really let the place down.
I will go back to Gumbet but there are much cleaner and friendlier place to stay.

Hotel is good for Gumbet but the hill walk is tiring in heat of day.
Cleaning lady very nice.
Food and drink price reasonable.
Reception girl very pretty but forget her name. If you are going ask her to contact me josverstappen69@yahoo.com
Will go next year to Gumbet and may go here again.

Booked with Chapa Travel. The hotel is simple but lovely, even the bed and towels are arranged pretty each morning by the lovely cleaning lady (who speaks no english but is always having a giggle and being lovely).

The food was delicious in the buffet, poolside was usually quiet. It is a family run hotel so you'll see lots of fun and games and they make an effort to include guest (without being crude or annoying) they have a small baby there sometimes and a little dog, but everyone is so friendly that I adored being there for my week.

Poolside is clean and there are lots of seperate areas for relaxing, tv or chatting and drinking so you'll always find a little spot for what you want.

The weather was great and your not far away from anything so its in a great little spot.
