“who let the dogs out!!!!!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2010

Muskebi appartments - fabulous, and friendly. The appts themselves were lovely and clean, the cleaners would come in daily, sometimes they would give a good clean other days just empty the bins and sweep floors. They are equiped with a washing machine and a dish washer and the essential basic's although we did have to go out and buy some mugs as the cups are tiny.
The pool is great, big enough to do a few lengths if so desired and the 'baby pool' was ideal. Plenty of balls and lilo's etc there which had been left by previous occupants, and the collection was getting larger!! My only gripe was that the complex consisted of quite a few turkish families on their holidays and they thought it was their given right to take whatever they wanted and not give it back or share!!
The staff and the manager were great, very friendly.
The restaurant was ok if you wanted a snack or light meal, if you want a really nice meal you should go elsewhere.
The poolside bar was always open but never had anyone there to serve, and to be honest when you have a small market shop outside selling beer and wine etc you didnt really need to go to the bar!!
One very large critisism and this had nothing to do with the hotel - the flamin dogs.
There are a lot of dogs mostly stray in the area, and they like to sleep all day out of the heat, and spend most of the night barking and howling - so take some ear plugs.
Muskebi Appts 8/10 for me would most def go back

muskebi apartments is a very quiet hotel and an amazing service! the chefs and waiters were amazing, all staff were fab:D! .. the maids were okay, some days they would just come in change the bin and walk out, other days they made the bed, if you were lucky. but other than that muskebi is a great place to stay :)

Muskebi apts are very spacious with an oustanding swimming pool - didn't eat in the restaurant - we stayed only for week between the 24th may and the 31st may and it was very quiet but i didn't mind.
The location is a little out of the way but you can get a bus too the yashi and there's a beach called camel beach which even though you can swim in the sea and it's clear the beach is poor aswell as two others 400 yds by muskebi.
The buses(dolmus) are cheap and reliable when they turn up !!!
Bodrum is ok but if you want a beach you have too go to gumbet - Aquapark is good but go by bus for a longer day and it's free for under 6's - if you go with thomson make sure you have photographic proof !!!!.

We were there 29th Aug - 13 Sept & had a really good holiday despite the disruption caused by other noisy families. Once they had gone we spent a lot of time swimming up & down in the big pool. Although the on site restaurant was very quiet the quality & value for money were extremely good with plenty of choice - the chef even made home deliveries!! There are a number of nice restaurants at Yahsi Beach of which our favourite was Guzel & a left turn out from the apartments & follow the road it will bring you to a very nice restaurant where you barbecue your own food.
We didn't bother going to the big supermarket as it wasn't cost effective, the little shop next door had everything we needed - water, bread, fruit juices, ice cream, fruit, etc & he was always very friendly.
Went on the Dolmus to Bodrum which takes 20-30mins & is a shoppers paradise.
A couple of tips, take a torch, there's not much street lighting at night & take a tea towel as they don't provide one.
There isn't much to do after you have eaten at night but luckily we had taken a dvd player and dvds.
Overall we had a really relaxing holiday with great weather.

My partner and my parents stayed her from the 31st of August until the 15th of September and had a fabulous time aprt from the first 5 days or so when there was the most awful, vulgar, common couple of familys with awful overweight badly behaved children who were screaming for drinks and crisps all day and dive bombing in the pool with the parents joining in. The swearing was a disgrace and the drunken night time arguement which resulted in one couple sitting opposite sides of the pool and she was sreaming and calling him a physco. Once they had gone peace decended and it truly is a fabulous place in a very quiet location and can't wait to go back. I wouldn't say this is a place for families or poeple looking for nightlife because it is a bit remote and very chilled out with tranquil gardends and spacious apartments. For pople like those awful families they should be made to go to Gumbet and stay there because they would really blend in well.

We stayed at Muskebi at the start of Sept, the weather was hot (low to mid 30’s), but not too bad, and there was plenty of shade around the pool., plus a cooling breeze for a few days We paid for air con in our apartment and it was definitely worthwhile doing so.

The staff were all very helpful and friendly, and following our midday checkout they allowed us back into our apartment to shower after we used the pool, ready for our pick-up at 9pm, at no extra cost. Otherwise, you can pay extra for a late checkout (6pm).

We ate breakfast at the restaurant once, it was perfectly fine but the place always seemed empty and we felt a bit sorry for the chef!

The pool was great - nice and big and very cooling. There were plenty of sunloungers, umbrellas and cushions.

Our apartment was cleaned everyday which was great. The location was also good - if you turn right out of the apartments and walk to the end of the road there’s a beach - the first restaurant on the left there is very good for fresh fish. If you turn right, you can walk all along the beach until you get to Yashi (about 15mins walk) where there are lots of restaurants, and a few bars. We went to Viras twice (the 2nd time because they have us a 10% discount card after our first meal), and the food was very good.

It’s really easy to get around on the dolmus’ - just make sure you tell the driver where you’re going when you get on, especially if you’re travelling back to Muskebi, as there are various routes and sometimes you can miss the stop!

The only drawback was the 'nocturnal noise' - there were quite a few stray dogs in the area (they didn't cause any bother in the restaurants etc), but as soon as 1 started to bark, all the others joined in and it was quite a din! Also, the nearby cockerels crowed at all hours. It disrupted our sleep a number of nights, but if you've got the air con on, it isn't as loud. We mentioned the barking to our rep and she said that she wasn't aware of anyone else saying the same; maybe we're just light sleepers! There’s nothing which the apartment owners could have done to stop it, but if you’re hoping for peace and quiet, you may not always get it!

Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend the apartments for a relaxing break, probably more suited to couples and families rather than groups of friends looking for something a bit more ‘lively’.
