“Gorgeous beach front hotel”
Reviewed 12 March 2007

We stayed at the Yilmaz for two weeks and Yasemine the owner/manager made us feel very welcome and took care of our every need. The rooms are clean and spacious and had lovely views over the pool to the sea. The restaurant served an excellent Turkish breakfast, and the lunch and evening food was traditional grilled meat and fish dishes - delicious and really cheap!

The staff are all really friendly and remembered us from the year before. Mr Yilmaz is often to be found playing backgammon with his friends in the afternoon shade or watering the plants in the garden.

The place has a lovely tranquil atmosphere, and we would happily recommend it to anyone who wants a peaceful chilled holiday by the beach.

See you next year Yasemine!

We were visiting the Bodrum peninsula and decided not to stay in the town of Bodrum, but sleep somewhere outside.
We ended up at the Yilmaz hotel about 6/7 KM from Bodrum .

Nice place, great views, wonderful tiny beach , nice swimming pool and the whole place is very clean.
The people that run this facility are incredibly nice and welcoming . I would definately reccomend it .

After searching endlessly for a place to stay for 2 nights while visiting the Bodrum Peninsula, I decided to take a chance on a beach area called Ortakent on the south shore.

What a lovely, out-of-the-way place. Perfect for relaxing. Sort of a Gilligan's Island feel to the place, if anyone remembers that show!

We stayed at a modest little resort called "Yilmaz Hotel", run by a woman named Yasmine (who speaks perfect English), her adorable Dad (he runs the little grocery store, and said good evening to us every morning! so cute), and other family members.

The pool is refreshing, clean and beautiful, surrounded by a profusion of flowers. Yasmine is an artist, so all the colors of the hotels are bright fuschia and lime greens, with a bit of turquoise thrown in. This is not the Marriott of the Hyatt, but who wants that when you are trying to "get away from it all"?

Our humble room was spotlessly clean with good air-conditioning. There are plenty of lounge chairs at both the pool and the beach. The beauty of the place and the Bohemian feel is what I loved best about this lovely, little resort. We came to refer to it as our "ish-ka-bibble" hotel. It is sweet, clean, comfortable, friendly and beautiful, without being overly-glossed.

  • Liked — The setting, the colors, the flowers, the staff
  • Disliked — no TV, modest room
  • Tips/Secrets — keep it simple and you will LOVE this place!
